We made the drive from West Virginia to find ourselves the best start as bearded dragon parents and we couldn't have lucked out any better than stopping in this petco after visiting another store down the road. Clayton went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for the ultimate setup and beardie care. He was super helpful and stayed with us the entire time, even helping load the car! We heard stories about other bearded dragons he had sold and his personal experience with owning them. Truly 5 star customer service!! Also, petco had prices much cheaper than anywhere else and they also had a reptile rally sale going on - 50% off!! What a great day and a great beginning to our bearded dragon experience. Highly recommend!

I have been converted from petsmart to petco! New to the area and this location is convenient to my new job. Not only did they help me find what I needed but they price matched the sale price of the food I was purchasing (which I now have to return because my senior stopped eating it ? ) but returns will be easy because I signed up for their rewards program! Quinn was super helpful and informative! It seems like the staff enjoy working there which makes shopping a pleasure. Definitely will be returning for all our fur babies needs! Went there to get more mealworms for Mushu (my breaded dragon) the reptile lady is awesome there!! She always helping me out, doesn't look down on me or anything, plus she is super friendly (think her name is star?) Because I was concerned with a few things and she made sure I fully understood and didn't needed anymore help when I was there. Highly recommend here for those who have new breaded dragons (like me Mushu is my first one). The staff there are really helpful as a whole as well

Good store with a pretty good selection of animal supplies. Offer numerous activities for dogs such as training and grooming services. Has everything you'd expect from an animal store.

No associates to help. Asked one guy he said he was off that day and he just came in to feed the fish. I needed a mouse for my snake. Looked around the entire store several times even walked back into the stockroom. Nobody in site. Walked to the cashier station and finally found a woman who could help. She was nice enough but the process was ridiculously slow. Got way too personal with all the questions she had to ask to buy something. Then wanted to walk me up to the register like I was going to steal it. I finally had to tell her how to do her job because there were 4 other people crowded around at the time and she was just going to let them stand there and wait while making sure I paid for a mouse. A $6 mouse. Please make it make sense. Tried going to Petsmart but they don’t sell them so I guess I have to continue to go back there. Hopefully next time is a better experience.

We walked in and went straight to the bathrooms and then as I come out we get basically verbally attacked by two employees stating bathrooms are for employees only well this is a damn first all the times I have shopped at this location they been open to customers. Basically they accusing us of stealing when we didn't even touch a damn thing on the shelves. Won't be getting my money today or any other day after that. And to think I was about to get a least 200 dollars worth of stuff for my furbabies. Forget this place after getting accused of something I have never done in my life just for using a bathroom first before making a purchase.

We brought our cockapoo and golden retriever to get groomed. The service is absolutely phenomenal both of our fur babies were happy when we picked them up and looked amazing, I know they were very well taken care off. I would recommend there store for all your pet needs. 100% amazing job. The entire grooming department treats my fur babies just like their own. Very appreciative of their dedication to our pets

Last week on 3/16 the day of my dog Luna's appointment I recieved a text saying her appt was cancelled. I did not cancel it so I called to find out what was going on. I was told that they lost the groomer That was supposed to groom her. They said that they could reschedule for today 3/24 which I told them was fine but I also had my other dog Koda scheduled for that day. They said that it was no issue they would guarantee that they would get both dogs in 3/24 since they have extended their grooming hours to 6pm, and that they would give me 20% off both of them for the inconvenience. I said that was fine and that I completely understood that they can't help staffing issues and I'd see them next week. Well I just received a phone call saying that they had to cancel Koda's appointment and that they could reschedule him for next week. I asked about Luna since her appointment was an hour after his and they said they needed to cancel hers as well due to staffing issues. The lady said she could guarantee they would get them in next weekend. When I asked how they could guarantee that they would get both of them in next week since I was told the same thing last week and the employee said that I would just have to take her word for it. The lady was extremely rude when I was trying to talk to her. I asked her how I was supposed to take her word for it when I was told the same thing last week, and I asked her if I should just reschedule at a different location. She just said that it was a me issue then she hung up on me and I got the text messages saying my dogs were cancelled. I've taken my pups to other locations in Roanoke and christiansburg and have never had an issue.

Closed at 6pm?!? Maybe if you paid your staff better, you wouldn’t have staffing issues.
