Please don't shop here or support this ignorant and dimwitted man.
Some things never change. Been stopping by here very occasionally for years (early 2000s). The man is Ebenezer Scrooge incarnate. Just a very poor miserable attitude with every interaction from this hateful man. Unless of course he's ripping someone off so he can profit. Not sure how he stays in business. I guess he just lives off of stolen goods, jewelry, coins from local addicts and then flips them on eBay or something. He's actually just a hoarder who doesn't want to let go of anything from the store (that he probably just looks at like a collection). That's why he checks ebay prices and marks up everything above that quite a bit, even though he dosen't have to pay shipping or eBay fee's. He has serious FOMO about prices or something. And as a result the stuff he has just sits there forever. I hope his grandkids who work for him know that you shouldn't run a business like that. "You catch for flies with honey". I went in recently for the humor of it because I knew he'd probably still be in there, and it was no different. Same nasty unpleasant attitude and dumb insults. I left laughing at how miserable this guy is. I genuinely am curious as to what hurt him so badly in life to make him this way. Wish I could do an interview with him or see one done by someone. That would be wild. Anyways I hope he's out of business soon. Hope one day his grandkids sell off all his stuff for half the amount it's worth. I hope thoughts keeps him up at night knowing that he's leaving behind a nasty legacy for himself and his family (I know he's incapable of that). He spent his one shot at existence sitting in an old cluttered store burning bridges and making others feel lowly. I gaurantee you, he could've made way more money if he'd just made more of an effort not to make others feel ashamed and ignorant. In reality he's not too bright honestly. And his insults are easily refutable. Won't be stopping there ever again, unless there's a going out of business sale of course!

Tried to get his “ expert” opinion on a couple things in which all that was given were condescending comments and I was told that a well known peer reviewed coin publication was “wrong”. He simply doesn’t know as much about coin's as he believes, he acts like he is the Jesus of everything coin.

Rude, ol man that doesn't know coins or people. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere serious. This guy makes a living taking advantage of old women and people that don't know what they have.

As someone who is looking to spend money to get some coins appraised, I was dismissed the second I walked in with the initial comment of, "Everybody wants to know stuff for free." Definitely not the best move to make when someone walked into your store ready to pay. Very dismissive, very rude, not really sure why this place is in business, especially since it basically looks defunct on the inside it's so messy. You'd be better going to the coin place near Crowning Touch- that owner is very respectful, helpful and kind.

This guy is pathetic. He is rude, arrogant, and just plain nasty. The store looks more like a junk dealer than a coin dealer. I had some coins to sell, and he offered me about 25% of their value. Sold them in Lynchburg For $1200.00 when he only offered $375.00. More than paid for the drive to Lynchburg. Avoid this S.O.B. at all costs!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, what everyone else said...I came here with my Nana a few times when I was young, and I would legit wait outside...PER HIS DEMAND!!! Its not like I was misbehaving or anything either, dude was just plain awful. I was like 4 or 5 back then, and forgot about the experience until I was a bit older. Killing time, I wandered in to ask about possibly selling some things I had... He was NOT interested in talking to me about anything like that-AT ALL and lit the torch under me to either buy something from him (at a ridiculous markup) or GTFO. I chose the ladder. Too bad he wasn't the slightest bit nicer, I legit would have sold him my Krugerrands and Liberty gold for next to nothing-back then I didnt know they were actually gold I thought they were the TV coins

This Roanoke Coin Exchange was a wonderful coin shop! He had a full and extensive collection of coins on full display- several full trays of Morgan Silver Dollars and many other US type coins. Also had a large collection of foreign older world coins! Exciting and just the kind of store I like visiting. The older gentleman/proprietor was helpful/pleasant and allowed me to look for over a half hour through various trays and collections of coins.I bought a bunch of coins that I desired for my collection and was very pleased with the experience!I highly recommend you ignore the other poor reviews, like I did! You will be glad you visited the shop!

He’s not as bad as some of the reviews describe him. I bought two coins from him. Not the nicest guy, but not awful. And fair prices too! Would recommend.
