Upon check-in the room that we actually purchase through third party. They did not have they tried to put us in a smaller version. But when entering the room was dirty and had not been cleaned. So then mysteriously they was able to put us in the actual room that we had purchased and already had paid for. Then the next day room service rudely walked into our room without being announced. Without knocking. Then later on that day banged on our door asking did was we frying something. No no this is unacceptable. No telling what happens when you leave and your stuff is in the room but left by itself. The place really does need to be destroyed and turned over to a real up chain. That is not owned by foreigners. You can tell that's where it's going straight to the slums. It's a shame because this is a very high-end area of Roanoke.

While work is being done at my apartment my family has had to stay at a hotel. With this one being pet friendly and having a separate living area with a pull out soda it seemed to be perfect. From the moment we walked in it had issues. The front desk staff was rude. Charged us the wrong price. Said I'd have to wait to be refunded. The rooms looked horrible. Carpet had bleach spots all around. The sheets on the pull out soda didn't look as though they'd been changed in forever. If the 9 lights in the room only 4 worked. Probably due to the fact the outlets themselves didn't work. Housekeeping barely cleaned and when I asked for towels I was told to bring them the dirty ones first. Gave them 4 (there's 4 of us in the room) but they would only give me 2. I could go on but so wouldnt recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Leaving tomorrow. I can't wait

What a dump! We were overcharged from the get go. The staff was rude and borderline harassing. They are not pet friendly although they advertise as such. When they finally decided to clean the room there was a bleach stain on the carpet that was there when we arrived. They said it was from our dog and threw us out. We had nowhere to go. We have our two children staying as well; one of which is on the autism spectrum. She is not dealing with the situation very well. Talk about cold hearted. My best advice to you is sleep in a tent because you won't get any rest here at Motel Hell.

We were recently in Roanoke for Thanksgiving and chose this hotel due to its proximity to the mall and our children's homes in Roanoke. Super budget friendly and they honored my request for a govt/military discount. Room was super spacious and had a sep living area with a fold out bed/couch. Very clean and had way more than what we had hoped for or expected. My wife and I slept well on the mattresses and the beds were super comfy! Friendly front desk staff and housekeeping personnel. The dining area and breakfast (included) were over the top. Waffles, eggs, sausage, pastries, cereal, juices, teas, etc. I even commented to my wife that the coffee was decent for hotel coffee. No elevator if you happen to have mobility issues. We did not check out the workout facility, but I saw the sign. We actually returned for a one-night stay after our initial two-night stay on our way back to Tampa.

When booking the room through a 3rd party place it stated dog friendly. Upon reading it through the website it stated up to 15 pounds. I called to ask about this just to see if I needed to cancel, the gentleman was super nice about it and said that it was fine. Upon getting to the room they were nice and clean but smelled off. After getting everything settled in the room we noticed bed bugs droppings all over the bed. We left, got our money back through Expedia.

This place is very dirty, cigarette holes in the sheets, someone's old food in the fridge, sinks and countertops were never cleaned. They do not have elevators, when we asked for a room on the same floor, that was not available and we were told they don't need an elevator since it is only one floor. Cleaning people were very rude when we asked them to come back because we were trying to finish getting ready to leave for a funeral. We will never stay here again. This place needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

Room was nice enough. Breakfast was egg rounds and sausage parties. Served cold. Coffee was Terrible. The room was quiet. Water pressure was Fabulous. I'd stay again. At the price point they Deliver.

I will start with the good... places close by for quick food and food delivery was easy. Everything else was horrible. Our room smelled really bad. There was a strong chemical smell and urine. I bought a candle to cover the smell and set off smoke alarm lol. Stuff smeared on wall (I don't want to know what is was). A Victoria Secret tag was on the floor. The hallway smelled of urine even more and a lot of the people in my hall had their doors open, I don't know why. I could also hear dogs barking during the night. Definitely do not stay here!

Stayed here several times in the past two years before moving to Roanoke. Over the winter, it was a great place to stay. But when things got busier, it got really loud, really fast. One night, when a bus of high schoolers were staying there, they were in the halls talking loudly and having fun until about 3am. I doubt I'm the only one who didn't get any sleep. I've looked for other places to stay since then.

Checked into a suite. Room had a moldy/smokey smell when we went in. Sheets were dirty. Thankfully no bed bugs. Asked to change rooms because the smell was so bad. Second room had a gerry-rigged pipe that was leaking water all over the floor and had a moldy smell as well. 3rd room smelled like pee and had a musty smell. Couldn't change hotels because all other hotels were booked up for a football game. The GM, Dan, would not respond to my email about the problem. They have no maintenance crew and a woman working days and nights at the front desk, going between caring for her 3 kids and helping customers. Terrible management. This hotel should be shut down for renovations. Don't waste your money.

Great place to pull off the road and sleep. Modern furniture, free breakfast, morning paper, many channels of television, great location. What I didn't carpet was wrinkled and walls needed paint. The hallway carpet had stains probably from pets.

This establishment is ill ran and improperly charged us an ADDITIONAL $100 For a "smoking fine" when NO ONE IN OUR PARTY actually smokes. Then staff namely, housekeeping "supervisor" as well as the front desk clerk, Deborah had entered our room 1. Without knocking 2. Announcing they were staff or any reason of first entering the room. This, I feel, is not polite but actually against Choice Hotel Policies. In which I've been a member for almost 10 yrs now. But due to this incident, I may not longer be such. But know, I will never set foot in this establishment again. After requesting the owners contact information, I was told by desk clerk, she would not provide such. Even when asked to have them contact me, she stated she wouldn't forward such message. This clerk, Deborah should not be in hospitality or customer contact. She was rude and obnoxious from the beginning. If the director of Choice Hotels, Patrick Pacious, allows such to occur under his supervision, whether franchise or not. This establishment, should not bare the choice Hotels association badge or honor of such.Jon Probst

When we booked we didn’t realize that the motel didn’t have an elevator. We are a big family so lugging our luggage up the stairs and to a room deep down the other end was not fun. We were told all other rooms were full. The room itself was split in two, the living room and a bedroom. Appreciated the 1.5 bathrooms. However, the rooms smelled awful!!! The bedroom smelled of puke ?. We were staying for just one night but It was tough. The sofa had a cigarette burn on one side although it was a non-smoking room. Also saw an ant in the living room. The young boy on the front desk was nice. He helped us take our luggage up as well and gave us some coins to do the laundry. He was honestly the saving grace in this place. My family has been travelling for almost 10 days now and we have stayed in about 6 hotels and this one was voted the worst by my family. Stay away!

My stay was absolutely great. Nice very comfortable beds. I had a suite with a living room area. Very clean area and bathroom/shower. The desk clerk was very personable and they had a nice array for continental breakfast.Nothing like the location in Henderson, NC my stay July 8th which was not good.I would definitely stay at the Roanoke VA location again.Rooms: Very clean!

I love to stay at Sleep Inn! The staff, especially the front desk workers, are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very quiet and clean. I spent 2 nights and it was wonderful, very comfortable mattress and pillows. Will certainly return.Rooms: See above comments
