As a regular of the hotel it is an honor to give my review of my home away from home. It's a beautiful hotel with a personable and classy staff that has very little turnover. The rooms are all being renovated. Almost all rooms done I hear. I really love the renovation but I loved the classic also :).. Obviously the overall heart and warmth of the Hotel Roanoke remains the same. The front and outside still the same beauty of Roanoke I love to see every time I make it to town. The lively bar in the lobby has great drinks and food at night, however my favorite food comes in the morning at their breakfast. See you soon Hotel Roanoke.

Came for the Christmas trees stayed for drinks. Wonderful establishment.
The parking situation is horrendous. I did not get a ticket tonight, so after being there for 2 hours, they wanted me to pay 12.00 to park in their lot. Finally, an attendant came over and let me out. I could not hear the person on the other end of the speaker phone. The speaker was broken.
Do better.

The hotel’s very pretty and historic, and they have some really nice people working there. But there are some things to keep in mind for your stay.
The rooms are remodeled and very pretty, but we left for another hotel when my husband’s work trip was extended because the bed was hard. But their pillows are really comfortable!
We did self-parking and they really need a parking garage, especially being downtown and hosting conferences. Our first night, they had to put a lot of us in the valet lot because there wasn’t any room in regular parking. It’s precarious driving around the small lot to look for a spot with that much traffic, too.
The housekeeping team does a great job and are very thorough and kind. One of the hotel’s highlights!
I work remotely and the WiFi didn’t work at all, so I had to tether to my phone all week. Be prepared for that.
I asked if a late checkout was a possibility. Totally understood “no” but they said they were completely full that night. My husband checked as he was booking our new hotel, and they still had availability. Again, “no” is fine but don’t lie about it. And from other reviews and conversations I heard in the lobby, this is apparently something they do a lot.
It’s pretty and cozy — and the walkway to downtown is super convenient. Would I stay here again? Yes. At $400 a night? No. It’d be great to be more modern with working WiFi, a better parking solution, and updating the mattresses once in a while. It’s a great hotel but hopefully this can help someone else planning for what to expect.

Great hotel with pay-to-park right by the building. Beautiful inside and out with large bed and nice room layout. They are currently upgrading their plumbing with lots of information about it at the front desk. In the hotel room, the hot water was manageable--not super terrible, not the best. Definitely a nice, safe spot with all kinds of people staying in it.

Suzanne (sorry for the spelling if wrong) and other staff were great in dealing with our wedding weekend. Janet was very helpful with planning our welcome drinks in the Pocahontas room. I am very happy we chose Hotel Roanoke.

The beds were incredibly comfortable and every service personnel I met was friendly and courteous. The hotel is so beautiful and ita story is fascinating. Took a star off of location due to deterioration of downtown Roanoke. The city is really in need of revitalization.

The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, Curio Collection is a fabulous location that allows for easy access to explore inner downtown Roanoke, VA. The bridge overpass was very convenient. Upon arrival, our check-in was seamless. The hotel guest greeter was very friendly and helpful. The valet service was equally terrific. Check-out was again seamless, with a very friendly receptionist at the desk. The room itself was quite comfortable with fine shampoos, conditioners, and soaps. The shower head in the bathroom was very relaxing. My only complaint is that there were not daily housekeeping visits. Otherwise, the Hotel Roanoke provided a lovely weekend getaway.

The single king rooms are pretty small, double Queen gives you more room. Make sure you get a newly renovated room as well. Easy walking distance to many good restaurants across the skywalk. Unheated outdoor pool but there’s a hot tub.
