It's convenient when you're in the mall area.

⭐ If I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, Google requires at least one.
I’m not the type to leave negative reviews—and I’m definitely not a “Karen.” But this is the second time I’ve had nearly the same issue at this location, and I’ve had several others over time. I live 10 minutes closer to this Walmart than any other in Roanoke, but I now drive across the city just to avoid it. That says everything.
I placed a pickup order for two storage bags. The Walmart app showed the items in stock and even gave me the aisle number (I-26). I received both a confirmation and a text saying my order was ready for pickup between 9–10 AM. I drove to the store, parked, checked in, and waited.
After 15 minutes, I got a call from an associate who clearly had no clue what she was doing. She told me the items weren’t in stock and I’d need to come inside to get a refund. Then she changed her mind and said I’d need to call the 800 number instead. She hung up before I could ask any more questions.
I went inside to speak with a manager. I’ve been a GM, site manager, office manager—you name it—and the person I spoke to was a poor excuse for a leader. She refused to look up my order or even look at my phone. Her response was:
“If pickup says it’s not in stock, it’s not in stock. That happens sometimes.”
Then she actually said:
“I’m sorry, but it’s not OUR fault.”
Seriously? Maybe it wasn’t her personal fault, but as the store manager, it’s your job to take ownership of the customer’s experience. That phrase alone pushed me over the edge. I asked where aisle I-26 was—she gave me wrong directions.
Once I found the right area, I discovered the items were on the very next aisle over. I purchased them myself, even though I didn’t want to spend a dime at this store. Then I had to go through the headache of calling the 800 number to cancel my original pickup order.
At this point, I still hadn’t planned to write a review… until I got a phone call on my way home saying they had “found the items” and re-picked the order if I wanted to come back. 🤯
This store is a disaster. It’s dirty, disorganized, unprofessional, and—if I’m being completely honest—ghetto. If you’re in Roanoke, go to South Roanoke, Bonsack, or Salem instead. Even if it’s further for you, it’s worth it. This store is not worth your time or sanity.

Pathetic order pickers/delivery. Zero staff answering phones. Zero, multiple departments! I ordered 9 items- i got 7 and 4 were the wrong items completely! (Not a case of substituting). Unreal. Use Amazon! And I hate big companies! But WM is a joke.

The Walmart Supercenter offers a wide variety of products at competitive prices, making it convenient for one-stop shopping. The store is generally well-stocked and clean, which is a plus. However, my experience was somewhat marred by the unhelpful staff. When I asked for assistance in finding the shampoo aisle, the employee I approached seemed uninterested and gave vague directions, which did not help. This lack of customer service was disappointing. Overall, while the store meets basic shopping needs, the staff could benefit from better training in customer assistance.

This is literally the worst Walmart ever. Take a few extra minutes and go to any other Walmart in the area. They never have anyone working that is available for help, have EVERYTHING locked up (and no one to unlock it for you), and now rudely informed me that I am no longer allowed to checkout at the self checkouts with more than 15 items (and they only have one real register open).

Well was there a WK ago, husband in hoveround and no one for full service, said on lunch break and went to service desk and lady there was just rude said well people have to go to lunch didn't offer to CK him out or put someone as back up on register. It's time to rethink your service to public. Self service is ok for a couple items but if buying groceries it sucks. Won't be back.

This store needs to take care of the theft problem besides making their INNOCENT customers feel like thieves.

I go late. Got there ten minutes before they closed and the doors were already locked. I pointed to my watch and the person told me through the door they close 10 minutes early every night. I firmly feel this is false advertising being that the hours on the door are clearly stated. I understand it's a SEMI rough area but that shouldn't give whoever runs this location the right to close early. If you can't do your job right then you don't need to do it at all. Where I work if I closed early I wouldn't have a job. And is 10 minutes really going to prevent that much theft or violence from happening? NO!
