The Good: Super Cute B&B with lots of great public spaces and a wonderful breakfast. Our host, Alan, was responsive and informative. The B&B itself is a converted church decorated with lots of antiques and interesting things to look at. There are lots of places to sit and relax. There is also lots of magazines and games as well as two TVs in the public areas. There is coffee, tea, soda, and even wine available. The well water tastes fantastic. Alan has a pet Cockatoo who is well trained and friendly. He brought the bird out at breakfast and we could pet him or have him sit on our arm of shoulder. The wifi worked great. The Bad: The bed could be more comfortable. The sheets were soft but there was a hole in the fitted sheet. The mattress was a bit rickety. Sadly, a guest sleeping in the room adjacent to ours snored loudly all night. There was also a skylight in the room which meant light waking me up earlier than I would have liked. I should have brought an eye mask and ear plugs.Other Info: Breakfast was served at 9 am. There was delicious yogurt, fresh fruit and granola. The hot foods served were scrambled eggs, bacon, and a french toast like dish which was delicious. There was also bread for toast as well as coffee, tea, and orange juice.

I took my wife here for mother's day and we had a great experience! The proprietor, Alan, was a VERY good host and really accommodating. Breakfast was good and our room was comfortable. I would recommend staying here if you are in the area.

This is a place everyone needs to experience! Warm & inviting. Alan has quite the gift of hospitality & an excellent cook with plenty to eat. Enjoyed patio, relaxing in common area, wine, coffee anytime & recommendation to Bacarian Cafe. Thank you! Gary & Ginny

Alan was a great host, and the house was beautiful. He was very helpful and accommodating to our needs, which included out 1 year old son. We will absolutely be back next time we are in the area.

Charming and welcoming with so much history! Loved the breakfasts. They even shared their home made granola & french toast casserole recipes.

My girlfriend and I were extremely disappointed with this bed and breakfast!!! We planned to spend Labor Day weekend here as a quick get-a-way from DC. We arrived late Friday evening and was presented with some cheese and wine. As we were drinking the wine we noticed there were dead gnats floating in our glass. My girlfriend actually had one in her mouth. Upon further inspection of the wine bottle, we noticed numerous dead gnats floating in the actual bottle itself. The Melon room that we were placed in was extremely hot and had a strong musty odor. There was a guest staying in the room next to us that told me she tried to help us out prior to our arrival by spraying a deodorizer in our room. The next morning my girlfriend went down to check out the breakfast only to find that the food contained gnats. We were so discussed that we left to find food elsewhere. Lastly, the room that I booked stated that it had a private bathroom, however it turned out that we had to share a bathroom with three other guests. After being extremely disgusted with the gnats, other bugs, musty smell, and bathroom situation, we decided to cut our weekend short. I spoke with the owner ( Doris) and explained to her that we intended to leave and ask if she would be willing to refund our money. I explained to her about the gnats and she stated that she simply would just "spoon them out" and that they were "extra protein". She was unwilling to negotiate any refund. Needless to say we were very disappointed with this bed-n-breakfast and hope that this review will prevent others from having the same experience.

Wonderful breakfast, we were last to make reservations and got 2 twin beds under a steep roof and hit my head a few times.
