Goochland Safety Rest Area West is a clean and convenient rest stop. It offers easy access for trucks and large vehicles, with plenty of space to maneuver. The restrooms are clean and well-stocked. Visitors find well-maintained paths to walk dogs and stretch legs, with picnic tables in a shady area. Vending machines are plentiful and reliable, including a refrigerated Starbucks machine that accepts credit cards. Some note the vending drink prices are high. It serves as a useful halfway point for commuters traveling from Richmond toward Charlottesville and west.

Easy to get on and off the highway. Plenty of spacious parking spots even for large van. Lots of area to walk and stretch legs or walk the dog. The restrooms were nice and clean, as were the grounds. Nice stop.

Not a big rest area, but clean and well stocked. It had a really nice picnic area...one of the nicer ones Ive seen at a rest stop!

Very nice, and clean. Also, beautiful place to stretch your legs and walk.
