I was pleasantly surprised by the number of employees offering assistance. Everyone was friendly and happy to be there.

We recently moved to Rocky Mount and I ordered a $3300+ zero turn mower. After several missed delivery dates, I asked about one, the exact model they had in front of the store. I was told I could take the one at the store and cancel my order, great, except they canceled my order then told me the one at the store was sold. So when I called customer service and spoke with Jaq----, I said, so I can't take the one there, and my orders been canceled, so what now? Do I go somewhere else and buy one? At which she replied, OK! I have been a customer of Lowes for many years, in locations across the country, Customer service has really changed a lot over the years. I guess I'll go to Roanoke Home Depot and buy a zero turn mower.

I am a license builder. I buy quite a bit of my material from Lowe's and tools.
If I were a homeowner then Lowe's would be perfect for my everyday needs. But as a builder, there are some things that I need to order from other places due to price differences and availability.

Place sucks going to , the 2x4’s & lumber are always twisted, most workers don’t know anything about their department, especially after 5pm . There’s a handful of people that work there that are good but that’s it.

They’ve gotten rid of all the personnel at the checkouts and gone to a horrible automated system. They never have anything in stock that you need in the shelves are often a mess! Do yourself a favor andshop local. You can find everything you need elsewhere at a local vendor and you’ll be supporting local families.
Update: since the time of this review, they added one checker back.
I’ve been waiting almost a week now to get a consult on an installation. They made me pay for the consult in advance, This place just keeps getting worse and worse.

Taking away the veterans discount in building materials and wood for service members and veterans was not a great thing to do. I spend my money elsewhere.

Update: 06/01/24 They added one check out person back to the line...I will add one star.
Fed up with the lack of personal service? Having to wait in line for somebody to figure out how to use the self check out? Call me old-fashioned but I go to the store knowing what I need find it on my own and then take it to the checkout, as far as I concerned at that point my job is done! Why do I have to figure out how to pay for it? The shelves are always in disarray, the staff looks defeated and let's face it the products they offer are not worth the hassle of trying to find them.
It's time to get back to local vendors there are plenty of appliance, electrical supply, plumbing and lawn and garden local companies that are run by local families. That is who we should be supporting!
The convenience of the big box stores are no longer convenient and it's time we sent them a message to get out of town.
Regarding your response, I have been shopping at Lowe’s for decades, and I have never seen the decline of your stores take this quickly of a dive. Your automated kiosks are horrible ! You took two or three personnel from doing checkouts to standing there watching customers do it for them. It’s still takes the same number of personnel because the new system is so bad. No one can figure it out! Let’s get back to basics and do the right thing. by the way, it’s not your people I’m unhappy with it’s your system. Obviously somebody is running corporate Lowe’s that has never had a real job and sits on their butt behind a desk.

The store was clean. The people working there are knowledgable. Once I had issues with my plumbing. I took some pictures of the problem and showed it to the guy working there. He got me the parts I would need and walked me through the repair process.
