This employee named Ray from his name tag has been at this location several times. He is rude, especially today, I tried to talk to him as I was checking out to have a simple and polite conversation, just saying hello how r u and stuff like that. He barely responded and if he did it was coldly. He even got his phone out and seemed to ignore me as I was checking out. This isn't the first time I have seen him, he'll be cold to me and often feel like I did something wrong as a customer, I work in customer service as well and I NEVER treat my customers like that. Even if I am struggling up front, I always try and give a smile. He didn't smile and I felt unwelcome. It's not my fault that he works here or hates his job. There are other employees that don't give proper customer service too. I am 22 and live by myself so often come to dollar tree to save money on smaller products and sometimes buy things for school here. I could easily go to the one near my school with more selection and not be treated like this. This place definitely needs work on their customer service. I even have been mistaken for an employee just because I was being nice and talking to other customers because I have often been inside to buy things for myself. Good prices. Okay selection. Horrible customer service. This one is the one on west Main Street in salem Va 24153 if that helps location wise.

Hands down, this is the cleanest Dollar Tree store I've ever been in. It was spotless, and the aisles were clear of clutter and boxes.All of the staff were friendly and helpful when we asked about some items that we were looking for.Very impressed.

I am so impressed with how far this store has come!! As a salem resident for a few years now, the spartan square dollar tree used to be so under-stocked that I wouldn't even waste my time shopping there. Since a new manager has come in, the stores never looked better!! I can almost always find what I'm looking for at a fraction of the price I'd pay elsewhere!!

Lots of unique and useful things! Picked up some inexpensive picture frames for crafts. I have lot if stained glass scraps and the kids are going to decorate the frames with the glass and give them to dad with their picture in it for father's day. Picked up some things for my bathroom. Love seeing lots fo new things and new ideas.

Found some really good deals. Detergent, Swifter pads , trash bags at great prices. I'm really liking these deals and it's good to have other prices on a few aisles if they save me me money.
