It’s a great cause, however they are wasteful. They received a donation of apples. Pallets worth of apples, and they removed 1/4 that had spots or minor bruises. The volunteers were instructed that all bruised apples must be trashed and under no circumstances were they allowed to take them home. It’s ridiculous THEY TRASHED FOOD THAT THE VOLUNTEERS WANTED TO TAKE HOME. WASTEFUL! They weren’t even allowed to take them to feed the deer.Minimizing food waste is not only environmentally responsible but also crucial for addressing global food security issues. Wasting slightly bruised apples, or any food for that matter, contributes to the depletion of valuable resources like water, energy, and land that go into food production. Furthermore, when edible food ends up in landfills, it decomposes, producing harmful greenhouse gases. Instead, these bruised apples could be repurposed, whether by feeding them to animals like deer, donating them to those in need, or even using them in food production. By making the most of every bit of food, we reduce our ecological footprint, alleviate hunger, and foster a more sustainable and compassionate approach to food consumption.

Volunteered here to help QA and loved it. Always nice to give back to the local community and even better when the people working there truly care as well. The volunteer Supervisor James has high energy, a positive mentality, and his caring heart will make the time fly. If you can volunteer for a few hours in the morning or afternoon they can always use an extra hand. Super easy to sign up online!

So far so good but they should leave the gate open for over night parking. Only enough room for two trucks in an alleyway and don't drive to fast because you'll miss the little sign right after the stop light. I hope no one comes in behind me. I barely fit in after the truck that came in before me. If another truck comes to deliver, they will have to come back and their clock time will have been wasted. If anything else happens I'll come back and update.

I can’t believe how they treat people who donate stuff. I was given a hole truck load of potatoes brought them 16 pallets of 50 pound sacks to be disrespected. I will never bring anything to this place again. They didn’t even say Thank You. FYI: Learn to be kind and smile it goes a million miles.I hope u don’t treat the needed this way those people need smiles and love they have it bad enough.
