This kind of shop doesn’t exist any more. Mark and Sandy are wonderful people, and Mark is a talented and highly experienced mechanic. They were incredibly helpful, generous, flexible with timing, and saved us (three times!) to keep a trip going with our old Vanagon. I wish we lived closer, as this place is simply a gem. Thanks again both of you!

The woman who answered the phone was rudest anyone can be. Not to mention I was 700 dollars over priced compared to where I go to now

Fantastic little shop for any VW enthusiast. Mark really knows his way around VW’s and he identified the issue in my Tiguan before I gave a detailed description of the issue. He got it in and out quickly and reasonably priced. Alsobeing new to the area, Mark and Sandra were a great source for local information on hiking trails and places to see. We will definitely be stopping back just to chitchat and ogle the impressive collection of VW history.

This place is a great little shop, it's also hard to spot, tucked away on a side street in Salem. The staff is very knowledgeable about multiple different European auto manufacturers, including Audi/Volkswagen/Porsche/Bentley, Mercedes, BMW, and possibly more, their service fees were very reasonable, and the staff was friendly and cordial. Sadly I moved to a different driving platform, so I don't use their services currently, but I suggest them to anyone in the greater Roanoke area for work on European import cars. Great place.Services: Brake service & repair

Mark is the most knowledgeable air cooled mechanic in southern virginia, hands down. $80-100/hr is well spent and beat bafoons working in my precious cars--and i've met a lot of dishonest idiots in my 25 years of VWing; more business to come Mark! thx Ferry

My car didn’t quite have its usual get-up-and-go, then the check engine light came on over the weekend, and (as you do) I had a feeling of dread about it. Well, Tycho has been taking his Subaru to Salem Import Service, Inc for some time now and always feels well taken care of there, so I thought I’d give them a try. Not only did they quickly diagnose the problem (crank position sensor), they repaired it within one day, for what seems to me to be a very reasonable amount of money, and as a bonus they fixed my windshield wiper sprayer so it works again! I was told by another shop that I’d have to replace my wiper fluid reservoir for $160 but apparently that was not the case. Besides the excellent car service, I also love the honeysuckle, all the neat old VWs, their dog, their bees, and all my interactions with them. They def have a new customer ? Good peeps.

Best service ever. Driving from Jax to Nashville, Bertha was smoking from an oil leak. Popeyes in and Mel took care of Bertha and I got some great stickers that Sandra dug up from the 90s. Bertha is happy, I am happy. We are on our way.
