We visit a few times a summer and three kiddos love it. There are always other guests-which we love- and this area is great for the varying types of water play. There's a deeper area for those who swim well and a knee-high section for the littles. Our littles enjoy the "pebble zone" almost as much as the deeper area! The only reason this wasn't a 5⭐️ experience is because of three state of the park. There was quite a bit of litter and several things left behind from previous guests. I know that's not the fault of the park, but I could tell that some of it was several days old. It was pungent when the wind blew the right way... But we enjoyed ourselves otherwise!

As you can see, we had a lot of fun! The hubby doesn't recommend this place as a good fishing spot but there ARE fish here. The rope swing was found hanging off a tree off the trail path. This place is GREAT for rock hunting and walking!

Not the greatest location for a park. It's located next to a busy electric road. The banks along the Roanoke river that runs through the park aren't the greatest. It easily floods. It's great if you want some pics of the river. Other than that, I can't see anyone spending more than 30 minutes there tops.

It is a nice place for a a swim. It does have a current so it is also good for tubing, but the current is strong and can carry you far without notice. It does need a little bit more parking and more port-a-potties. You might need to bring your own umbrellas for shade , and also some water shoes because it is rocky. Nice spot to enjoy with the family.
