Never had issues with this branch until just recently. My card was hacked, I went to get a temporary card and have the stolen money replaced. The front desk/tellers were all super sweet and helpful. Assured me a banker would be with me shortly. That’s when Janine Brizendine yelled “can I help you??” Very rudely FROM HER OFFICE. I walk to her office space and hadn’t even made it in the office and she was shoving papers around, slamming pens down, slamming binders shut, didn’t say a word to me outside of “what do you need” and “what’s your social.” She then tossed the temporary card to me. I then asked if I needed to sign anything so the money could be refunded and her response was,” you mean you haven’t talked to anyone else about this already?” Obviously not or I wouldnt be here ?. Very disappointing experience with this banker as I’ve been with Union for years and have never had issues from all the other staff members. Everyone has bad days, but you’re a BANKER, swallow your problems for 5 seconds and don’t be disrespectful to those who aren’t the cause of your bad day, and are the reason you get a paycheck ?

It would be nice if Google could at least get half of the houses in the correct area in this town for example they as always have the house I grew up in listed as the next road over

I am a caregiver for an elderly woman. Last Thursday after working with Ms. Fisher, we were waiting while Ms. Fisher finished the transaction with the front desk teller. My client asked me to get Ms. Fisher's attention. After I saw her finish with the teller, while she was just standing there waiting, I said excuse me Ma'am, she acted like she didn't hear me, then asked if I could wait until she finished. I found that both rude and distasteful. It was the manner and tone in which she said it. She could've easily multitasked while the teller was finishing on that side. Even another teller with white hair looked over, I'm pretty sure she realized how rude that came across. It made me feel just because I wasn't the client I was not of importance. To think only a few months ago the branch manager here asked if I wanted to join, I had been considering but not after that interaction with Ms. Fisher. I hope he will keep an eye on her. Just because I wear sneakers and maybe don't look the part, doesn't mean I couldn't have brought a nice chunk a change over to your bank. Especially being new resident here. Ms. Fisher can do better.

Everyone is always so helpful when I call or walk in. It’s truly a “hometown” bank feel. When I was struggling as a single woman setting up new accounts, they made me feel like I was just as important as someone setting up accounts with $$$.I highly recommend Atlantic Union, especially the Salem, Virginia branch!

Wanted a managers signature to withdraw money from a rep payee account...I am the rep payee. Said I couldn't withdraw the available balance from a zelle transfer because it wasn't posted as the current balance. Supposed branch manager had no idea what zelle was. Have had to make a formal complaint about an employee of the salem branch for their absolute unprofessional behavior and general attitude toward me as a new customer. They also forced me to open 3 separate accounts for rep payee payments and one personal despite social security saying that is false and me having been using one account for all 3 payments for the last 8 years...Terrible branch employees.

Always have a wonderful experience when I visit the Salem branch. Anyone who is complaining about the speed of the drive thru, would have a different opinion if they were first in line.

Slowest drive thru is SW Virginia!!! Branch manager is completely incompetent and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a bank or any other financial institution.

Too many fees......ive got hit with three over draft fees because our gym memberships were due....i understand how over draft works but three separate fees??!! Not to mention im pretty sure they see that i get direct deposit the same time weekly for the same amount! I called to get at least one of the charges reversed never once heard back from the so called manager!! This is twice now shes been too busy to return my calls!! I deposit about 5 thousand a month into this account between my job and my side business however after today i would be better off going to freedom first or some pre paid account at walmart! In other words this bank is poorly managed....the stifle you with fees and its just not worth it!! Im yanking my money out and closing this account asap!!
