I concur with all of the recent comments here, unfortunately.

The staff is unfriendly, the prescriptions are never on time and they work too slowly and with little professionalism.

Walgreens Salem Pharmacy is the most incompetent of any place I ever dealt. Never has all your meds ready, don't answer the phone and employees are rude and non caring.

Prescriptions take WAY too long to get filled, then usually DON'T get filled until you show up asking for them 8 hours later. The people answering the phones don't seem to know what's going on most of the time and can't tell you much of anything or are rude. Was told my Prescription would be ready 'sometime today'. When I asked for something a little more precise, I got 'uhh, give us a few hours at least'. Definitely avoid if you are expecting to get them in a timely fashion.

after the way I was sterotyped as a potential thief by Cindy, a Walgreens Associate, at the Salem VA location, I have no plans to return to this Walgreens location. I AM NOT A THIEF. I never will be a thief. I drive an old Mazda, I carry a huge pocketbook AND I like a lot of people my age am on EBT. I am NOT looking for any NEW male or female FRIENDS to backstab me.

I didn’t know pharmacies were allowed to have such incompetent people working. Sick as a dog, I went through hell to get my prescription after leaving the doctor. I was in that pharmacy for two hours, and each time I went to the front, they said “we’re working on it”, and so I called the doctor to see if they were sent, just to be told “we sent them an hour ago, apparently that Walgreens just says that when they haven’t written them up”. It’s madness. I went up FIVE different times for them to say “we can’t find it/we are working on it”. They finally said “your insurance doesn’t pay for all of it” after getting impatient and asking to get this figured out. So I then had them transferred. BUT WAIT, I went to CVS down the road the next morning, and they told me “they were never transferred”. I proceeded to call the pharmacy and was compelled to tell the pharmacist they are lazy pieces of **** with no customer-first approach, and that nobody should ever deal with that when they are sick. Here is the thing, they just do not care. Like all healthcare workers, they think their job is so important and that it gives them the right to go at their own pace. If they are busy, they have no incentive to work harder. The fat pharmacist saw me several times encountering a problem, and he didn’t even bother to say anything about it, come up to me, or try to help.

DO NOT GET PICTURES PRINTED HERE. It’s a MONTH before Christmas, we want to get books made for Grandparents. First time trying: Horizontal lines through EVERY picture. They thought we’d still want to pay for these. We had to resubmit the request again. The 2nd time thru? Same thing. Called us and told us everything was “ready”, aka ‘lines thru your book so bad we wanted to see if you wanted to pay for the first book’. It’s the week of Christmas now. They wanted me to try and resubmit AGAIN. So they could try AGAIN. Why?!?

Loading cash for chime location. No fee. Girl was new so it took her a few tries and then she needed a manager but staff was friendly and store was clean.

I would give this store zero stars if I could! They do not answer their phone -I believe they leave it off the hook ! tried to call for weeks and could never get through! The one night I drove to the window to get my prescription straightened out, which they had filled incorrectly, there was a sign in their drive-through window that said we are closing two hours early for the next week.Of course none of that was posted online or on their phone message -don’t waste your time with Salem store!

Its a clean, well stocked store with helpful staff. The prices range from reasonable for some items to too expensive compared for the same or comparable product as offered at a different store. I don't use this store for pharmacy services, so I would not be able to comment on how they compare against other stores that also offer prescription services. In general, its a nice, clean, well lit and friendly store, and overall I would have no reason to avoid going here, but I also would have no reason to make it my first choice or must stop/go to place either.

Pharmacy takes forever(2 hours to fill 1 dropped off script) and the girl who was working the pick up/drop off window was very rude and appeared to be mad for some reason. When my mother asked about an over the counter med the dr told her to get, the lady curtly snapped back, "all questions must be answered by the pharmacist" So after about 5 min wait trying to get his attention and talk to him i figured it out. The girl working the drive up we used for pick up was very nice though.

Horrible store. Employees encourage discrimination, disregard the mental states and safety of customers. They have officially joined CVS on the "must be privileged and upper class to shop here and be treated with respect" team. I hope karma comes around with a batch of covid for the employees I dealt with today, I have no respect for hate mongering wastes of life like them.
