Went to get a piece of MDF cut today, and the older gentleman that made the cuts was very patient with us. He was a huge help. 10/10.
However…. The older woman working the register at the pro checkout was so utterly rude, I was totally ASTONISHED.
1. My husband and I had 2 gift cards we needed to use up. I swiped the first one, she “demanded” ID. No big deal, So I handed her mine. It did not take it, so she starts going off about (something I already know and understand) how the ID has to match the card from when it was purchased. Easy. It was clear that my husband was standing right there and it would be his if it wasn’t mine, but she instantly started going in as if we had given her some sort of trouble over it.
2. She assumed the gift card would cover the total, but I had a second one I needed to use. When she saw I had another one for the remaining balance, she sighed and rolled her eyes back. As she was turning away (because I know she wouldn’t DARE say it to my face) she says “y’all doing too much.” There was no one else around at the moment for her to say that to, except for us. Absolutely UNbelieavle.
3. She was clearly in a hurry because she was able to get to her car to leave before we could even get to ours after making the purchase.
As a Regional Executive of a large retail company, I myself often recruit people at checkouts, people that know how to smile and are professional. And this one’s not it, Lowe’s.

I used to love when I could go in, ask for help, and they knew the basics about their department. Now, even with 2-3 employees trying to figure things out, they can't figure it out.
I purchased a mower from lowes, so my information is IN their computer system with all the information on the mower. I just needed the correct belt size. 94" or 95"? Neither knew how to find it on their handheld machines, but I suggested to look on their actual computer... just a few feet away... they couldn't comprehend that. They also couldn't comprehend that I needed either a 94" or 95" and proceeded to take out 3 different belts (over 100" long) to try to match to my old belt. ? yeah... I ended up walking away, and I will go to the mower shop or tractor supply and get my mower parts from now on.
The past few years, it's just getting worse and worse with the amount the employees know about their departments. This is not the first time I've walked out and went to another store. Sadly, Lowes will be removed from my places to shop.

Staff always friendly. Always asking if you need assistance. Went today looking for a particular plant. They had ASM assisting me. And the best part, being a veteran they have a magnificent display set up in parking lot honoring the vets this weekend. Thanks so much Lowes. Job well done.

The worst location by far. Inventory is always a challenge whether they have the products in stock or not. Good luck finding an associate to help you. When you enter, you’re on an island with no help for miles. Had an online pick up order…208 of the product I needed in stock. Liquid nails is always in stock, yet I get a message saying it was unavailable and wouldn’t be available for another week! When I arrived to pick up the other items, I went in and bought the 5 tubes of liquid nails I seeded. Yes, the same product they said was “unavailable” was there, in stock, with hundreds on hand. I would chock this up to a simple mistake, but this is literally the norm with this location specifically. I’ve got 11 orders in my history and only 2 were without issue. The management clearly doesn’t care and it’s sad. Don’t get me started on delivery! They charge $69 for “same day” only to farm it out into DoorDash (Roadie) for $7-$10 a delivery to the driver. I wish this location would shutdown and make room for Home Depot.

I went into Lowes for a specific Item... A portable Inverter Generator about 1,100.00 I got NO help. I went to the customer service desk.and they paged some one... I waited another 10 minutes before I walked out and purchased the generator where they appreciate their customers!! I called and asked for the store manager...She wasn't in today, Someone else answered the call... When I explained what had happened; he said ok, have a nice day!!! I was having a nice day until I walked into THAT STORE...I'M VERY thankful there are other stores in the area 5hqt Appreciate your Business... My wife and I just moved to South Boston.and.will be looking for Home Improvement supplies... I'm glad I found out the culture of this store before I spent.a.boat load of Money...Today's sale was.over $1,200.00 oh well...

Somewhat expensive, many workers within the store but yet always difficult to find help. 9/10 times when asking for help the assistant has to look up the answer on their phone. I have not yet to meet a worker who is knowledgeable in their department area.

Assist manager at south boston va store was extremely rude & very arrogant. He refused to return an item at Lowe's clearly had a 100% money back guarantee if the customer was not satisfied. He had the nerve to tell me that "he did not care" & "he would not stamd behind the guarantee " a complete jerk!! 99% of the Lowe's associates are amazing!

If I could give no stars I would the incompetence that runs rampant at this store location is unbelievable they couldn't hit their backsides with either hand I purchased a washing machine and had to wait for 7 days and it still didn't come in subsequently they have hit my debit card a minimum of four times and most likely six times this is a cluster if you've ever been in the military you know what that means it took my willingness to cancel the order and walk away to finally get the product I was trying to buy while much of this is out of the people at the store's locations hands it is still their responsibility

I had a woman help me find the drill I was looking for and she found a discounted set of bits. Very helpful. My wife had a similar experience buying a new dryer Saturday.
