The five star reviews are either fake or staged, and come from the staff batting their eyes and asking residents to leave them while they still live there.
Edit: (of course you don’t have a record of me being there, if my real name was there you’d go after the people that are my friends) Notice how absolutely zero percent of the response from the business actually denies, or even attempts to address, what I said. Pointe’s policies, which they have conveniently shown here, are the same as every other rental agency and nothing is wrong with them. It’s the fact that Pointe uses this to try and shield themselves from criticisms that makes them worth said criticism. They have done everything this review says and they know that they have done everything in this review, which is why they didn’t object to or deny it. Original review is below.
Consider your security deposit gone as soon as you fork it over. Everyone in South Hill knows how this business is, all you have to do is walk around town and ask. They have a firm grip on the rental market so they get away with just about whatever they want to.
Before and ever since we left South Hill I haven’t heard of a single person that’s ever had a pleasant experience when they moved out. They wait until folks are fully vacated to go and charge them for things like scuffs on the wall that should be considered normal use, but they charge to re-paint the entire property - because they know that now that you have left, you can’t come back to fight it. They’ll hold you responsible for (literally) a piece of lint on a shelf in the freezer that comes from a cloth you used to clean that shelf. The outside of the property always and forever has trash around the dumpster and staff never once comes to look, they only come by when it’s time to make some money off the people living there. Staff enters apartments without the required 24-hour notice and sneak out before they can get caught. Some houses they rent out are 1800 a month and they don’t come with any appliances, they make you buy them. It’s a shame because the people that build them are as nice and efficient as possible and do a really good job building them, but then they and you have to deal with these sneaky people at the realty office.
To folks getting ready to move here, just know the properties are nice, but do not let them push you around like we did. No one likes them and they only get away with this stuff because we didn’t stand up to them. Hold them accountable.

My experience with Pointe Realty has been amazing, Evelyn Salazar, our property manage in particular was extremely kind, helpful and understanding with my situation and went above and beyond to help us get everything done correctly, she handled all the tough work and made it simple for us within a very short time frame in order to get everything situated and sorted out, she was also extremely friendly and welcoming when we went there to ask some questions and gave us helpful intel and information on how to go about the process, I would certainly recommend everyone to engage with Pointe Realty/ Evelyn Salazar
