I called five times to schedule a dental appointment for my dog and received no response. On the sixth attempt, I was placed on hold for 15 minutes. Out of frustration, I used my wife's phone to call—and someone picked up immediately.
This is unacceptable. If you're placing callers on hold, you need to follow through and reconnect. Ignoring calls and selectively answering is not just inefficient—it’s unprofessional. I expect better communication and accountability from your team.

Phenomenal staff. They do a great job taking care of my dog and communicating what is going on with him, as well as my options. I recommend this location

I cannot say enough good things about the team at Banfield Pet Hospital in Springfield and the amazing care they gave to my dog, Niko. Recently, Niko had to undergo a major dental procedure where over 75% of his teeth were extracted. As any pet parent can imagine, I was nervous, worried, and full of questions — but from start to finish, the staff made both Niko and myself feel completely at ease.
From the moment we walked in, everyone treated Niko with such patience and kindness. They didn’t see him as just another patient, but as a member of my family. The veterinarians and techs took the time to explain everything in detail: what the procedure involved, why it was necessary, and how it would benefit Niko’s long-term health. They reassured me that while it sounded like a big surgery, he would actually feel so much better without the constant pain and discomfort that came with his dental issues.
On the day of surgery, the level of care was beyond what I could have hoped for. They handled Niko with love, making sure he was comfortable every step of the way. I appreciated how attentive they were to his needs, monitoring him closely before, during, and after the procedure. They gave me updates throughout the day so I was never left wondering how he was doing. That extra communication meant the world to me.
After the procedure, they thoroughly explained the aftercare process — from pain management to diet adjustments — and answered every single one of my questions without ever making me feel rushed. The staff even followed up to check on him, which showed just how much they truly care about the well-being of the pets they treat.
It’s been such a relief to see Niko recovering so well. Even though he lost most of his teeth, he’s already happier and more comfortable because he’s no longer in pain. I can honestly say he’s acting like a younger, more energetic version of himself. I owe that to the dedicated, compassionate, and professional team at Banfield Springfield.
If you’re looking for a veterinary team that combines medical expertise with genuine love for animals, I highly recommend Banfield in Springfield. They turned a scary situation into an experience filled with trust, compassion, and excellent care. Niko and I are forever grateful.

Holding for 15 min call again another 15 min hold very unprofessional I’ve dropped off my cats and don’t hear nothing for 8+ hours and don’t go into detail explanation about my cats visit horrible reception and horrible doctors there’s only one good worker and its the nurse. Need to fire whole staff and give the positions to people who actually wanna work there not just someone going to get a paycheck

They never answer the phone. I’ve been calling for days and have left a voicemail. Clearly it’s an urgent matter. Another Banfield location even called for me and no answer. I called Petsmart (because this Banfield is located inside) to inquire if Banfield was open and they informed Banfield is and is staffed. How unprofessional of Banfield. Pick up your phone.

They open at 9am but if you call, they do not answer. Its been 30 minutes... I have work at 10am and need rabies documents from them so my cat can go to the groomers. Per VA law, you need documentation, not just the tag...

Dr. Lawrence is phenomenal. Banfield makes it easy to take the necessary preventative steps to protect your dog or cat. My experience is biased. I only really want to praise Dr. Lawrence. Her energy is not only radiant she has so much passion. And was excited to explain what was going on with my dog. She was very informative very patient and endearing.

I took my dog there for a UTI. He kept peeing smelly pee. They couldn't get any urine so they ask to do a test what I heard was Pin, thinking they were going to use catheter to get urine. Coupon brought my Charge down to over 400 dollars to check his pee.. Got script for doxycycline. The next day my dogs belly was purple full of blood. Then green red yellow. It took a week 1/2 for it to go away. Now he has sores under his belly and groin scratching.losing hair. Never ever had that issue with my Yorkie. Made another appt. charge 80.00 to walk in. Was told they scraped his skin during his last visit ??? That was not explained. Wanted to charge another 120.00 to do another skin test. Didn't approve of the last. was not informed about. I felt I was scammed by them for money. Nothing is explained clearly even after asking. My dog was better before we went there. Now he has a staph infection. The treating doctor no longer works there. The manager never called me back.
I would suggest going on You tube watching a video of Vets. You may be ripped off here. I'm trying to post photos it won't let me.

We moved from Arizona to Virginia and were in need of a new vet that was close to Fort Belvoir. Banfield Springfield is a quick 15min drive and attached to a PetSmart.
I have brought all three of my shepherds to Banfield over the past year and have been very happy with their treatment and care. Specifically their receptionists Egla & Krystal. When I walk in and see those girls at the desk, I know they are going to hear my concerns and help me get booked for all the right stuff. They have excellent customer service and I feel comfortable chatting with them. My dogs have seen Dr. Im and Dr. Freeman. Both doctors are caring and compassionate and will give you multiple options on treatment plans in great detail. I have one of my wilder dogs on a wellness plan and it has easily paid itself off. I can't name any one vet tech, but every one I have had the pleasure of interacting with has been amazing. I cannot recommend them enough!

Getting someone on the phone takes an act of congress, and that’s not even the biggest issue.
They had my cat for 2 hours, and said she needed either a $70 or a $120 test. If she needs it, fine, but the receptionist who called couldn’t tell me which one was necessary, or why. Why such a big difference? After I asked the questions, I was left on hold for about 15 minutes. I hung up and called back. After that, my cat was suddenly being called aggressive. They couldn’t test her for anything…..but a few minutes ago, you wanted to charge me for tests. If she won’t let you near her, what are you testing?
They couldn’t handle her, had my boyfriend go back to the kennels to get her. She hissed for the first time we have ever heard her hiss, and then once he called her name she came to him. She sat calmly in my lap on the car ride home. My cat is NOT aggressive. Even while eating. It was a new provider and new techs. Obviously something is up with them and how they handled her.
I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. They can’t even handle a little kitten properly.

Arrie and Lauren! Thank you for being so wonderful to my Tico Bear! He was so scared and you both let him know he was safe with you. Thanks, again!
