Terrible service. Closed a money market account last week after being intentionally misled (at a different branch) about the period of time a 4% interest rate would be earned. Was told it wasn't a "teaser rate" with a fixed time frame. After 4 months, the rate fell to under 2%, yet no rate action by the Fed or Treasury would have justified such a drop. So I was clearly misled (lied to?). Upon closing the account at this Springfield branch, the manager and teller let me walk out without returning my driver's license and Truist debit card. However, I didn't realize this until travelling 15 miles to open an account at nearly 5% with a different bank (no ID...no new account). Drove back to Truist to retrieve the items. As I walked into the branch a woman was leaving and being told (in a very public way) they didn't know where the teller (now at lunch) had put her IDs. Apparently the branch has a problem with not returning IDs. "Truist"....a lousy bank; an even worse name.

Absolute furious with my two most recent experiences with Truist. Have already closed my personal account and plan to close my business account as well. Most recent involved a fraudulent international charge less than $20. Called to report the fraudulent charge in September 2023 and was assured that I did not have to pay it. Received confirmation letter. Incredibly, Truist actually blocked the first charge attempt to my account (presumably due to suspected fraud) before allowing the scammer's second attempt.It is now November 2023 and I have been charged a late fee and finance charge (not to mention hit to my credit) on the original fraudulent charge! Was assured by two people I spoke with since the original fraudulent charge that it was being taken care of. It wasn't.Visited Truist branch in person today to close my personal account out of frustration and get a straight answer. Was told I need to PAY the fraudulent charge and late/finance charges to avoid further accumulation of charges while the case is under review!!!!!!! This directly conflicted with everything I'd been told to date and is outrageous regardless. if the charge was $10,000 would I have been expected to pay that too while Truist spent 3 months "investigating"??????Very, very upset with this experience and will be ending my business relationship with Truist next as I explained to them today. All over an international fraudulent charge less than $20.

Terrible service at drive thru. They let you sit forever before someone actually helps you, then it takes forever to get anything done. I have no idea what's going on inside this bank. Never again!

Run, do not walk, away from this bank. Customer service is abysmal. If you encounter fraud such as checks being cashed by those other than the payee, they will not help you. Each representative has a different answer and show no concern if it varies. The main point is to get you out of their branch and away from their offices.

I've never seen an employee refuse to just follow directions. Things would be simpler if you would listen to what's being told. But as your total review score is a 1- you lack across the board. Celine - simple directions. Are just that. Simple. Follow them next time. Maybe your job would be easier and you would have happier customers.

I will never get an auto loan from Truist again. The absolute worst customer service. I don't know why they have voicemail. They never return phone calls. Just SAD

Worst bank and customer service experience I've ever had. They told me there is no debit card associated with our account, even though we have two debit cards, and our statement shows we have consistently used one of them every month. And when I questioned their phone customer service agent why they were telling me we didn't have debit cards when we do, they hung up on me. Then they did the same thing via their chatting service. Well at least they are consistent in their lies and rudeness.

Very long line, not enough tellers. Some tellers performing other tasks, not assisting clients. I had to leave the line to go back to work because the wait was so long. I will be moving to a different bank.
