Wonderful service but they put a tracker on the car we paid cash for. Then I had to pay to have it taken off to get a second key. That’s not right. They no longer own the car. We have the title.

We had went to buy a new car and just received bad service. Place was empty but we still waited an hour just to not even see the car because they lost keys. Beware 699 processing fee as well, scam

My experience was a mixed bag. The good: I got relatively recent model car, with reasonable mileage, in good condition, and at a good price. The sales staff was friendly and low pressure. The bad: the purchase process was very (very) slow, and there was an issue with financing. I arranged for financing from my bank ahead of time, which I thought would speed things up. However the dealership was reluctant to provide the paperwork requested by the bank, to allow for the underwriters to finalize the loan and issue payment. I ended up physically going back and forth between the bank and the dealership, and ultimately had to arrange for the bank manager and the dealership to speak directly. It eventually got sorted out, but added about 2 hours to my day. I am happy with the car itself, but would think twice before buying from this location in the future.

I bought a Ford Edge platinum on 7/29/2023. There is a fine line between being a good salesman and being pushy. Both Shonte and Jeremy understood this balance and knocked it out of the park. Shonte was great at showing me the extra safety features of the car, and Jeremy completed the finance which was painless. I know that dealers prefer when you use their finance. I came with my own, but this didnt make a difference to the way I was treated. I can't speak highly enough of my experience - totally different from the 7 hours that I spent at a Mitsubishi dealership in New Jersey on one occasion.A job well done for his awesome team!!!!! The car is pretty cool too.

EDITED 4/7/23Another month has gone by and still no response. Given the issues we've had I decided it is worth it to spend a few hundred dollars to have an attorney request the service records. The car certainly does not seem to have been "certified" as promised and I'm concerned they're hiding something important about the car's history. I intend to find out. So get your legal folks ready, Hertz! It would have been so much easier if you just did what you said you'd do.EDITED 3/8/23After posting my review, someone from Hertz national reached out. I thought that was nice. However, since sending them the details of the car a few weeks ago they haven't responded to several emails. My situation isn't complicated. Bought a car at a good price and was told the car was "Hertz Certified". Thoroughly inspected, serviced, ready to go. Unfortunately the wiper blades were falling apart and the car nearly failed inspection that afternoon because of it. No big deal. I was promised a new set. However I never received them. Then I was surprised that the service light came on within a month or so given that the car has a 7500 interval. So I asked for a copy of the service records and never received those either. I took it in for service and was told there is no way it had been serviced recently. The air filters were filthy for one thing. Then the front windshield started leaking, which was odd, though I can't blame Hertz for it. These are not HUGE issues by any means. Mostly just inconveniences that added a few hundred dollars in unexpected expenses. I'm just disappointed in both this particular store and the corporate office for not following through and simply doing what was promised. And I'm wondering if maybe they are hiding the service records because there was something wrong with the car that resulted in it sitting somewhere in the sun for a long time. That would also help explain why the front windows stick as if the car just baked in the sun with the windows up for eons. Who knows.ORIGINALI have such mixed feelings about this place. The price of the car I purchased was very good during a time when prices were abnormally high. Everyone was very friendly. The problems came after I made the purchase. During their "certification process," no one bothered to check the windshield wipers. It turns out all three were falling apart and the car nearly failed inspection. I contacted Hertz and they assured me they would send me a new set. Never did.Within a few hundred miles of driving the car the service light came on and said a service was due in 74 miles. The car should have a service interval of at least 7500 miles as I recall. I contacted Hertz and was assured they would send me the service records so I would know if a service was needed, which would be odd, or they simply forgot to reset the interval. Never received the information. Emailed and called again. Never received the information.Oddly, the front windshield started leaking and drenched the dash and driver seat after a storm. This is a 2021 Mazda with ~30k miles. I've never owned a car with a windshield leak regardless of mileage. I don't think this is Hertz' fault per se, just very very odd. It seems the car must have been sitting somewhere in the hot sun long enough to degrade the rubber around the windshield and all three windshield wipers. The front windows also stick which fits the idea. But why was it sitting so long? It makes me wonder if that's why they won't share the service records. Was it broken down for an extended period? I intend to find out and will update.In short, I was happy with Hertz until shortly after I bought the car. Their customer service was wonderful until soon after the purchase was complete. I would probably buy from them again but would be much more cautious. I at least should have asked for the service records up front. My mistake. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM! My car died the following week and their team literally laughed at me over the phone. Worst experience ever as a young female, they played with me! And may I also add that I had paper tags for 4 months because they didn’t process my paper work in a decent time, my lender was about to raise my APR rate! They beg you to buy the car just to ignore and laugh when it’s yours and you’re dealing with all the problems the following week.

Our transaction couldn’t have gone any better! Melanie was amazing and went above and beyond - she was even willing to give me a video tour of the vehicle the afternoon before we were scheduled to pick it up so that we knew what kind of shape it was in before driving several hours to their location. Hubby went out the next day to retrieve the vehicle and was really impressed with how quickly they completed the paperwork. I got the minivan I had been holding out for (exact color, trim package, etc) and for a really reasonable price from Hertz. One of the smoothest car buying experiences ever!

I contacted Jeremy now on a few occasions for the information regarding the mechanic to fix my car. He told me yesterday he would email me the information and here I am still waiting. I can not register my car without them fixing the issue I brought to their attention immediately after purchase. For him to be the location manager, his communication is poor in resolving this. I'm going to escalate to corp and the better business bureau immediately. I should not have to call repeatedly to get information provided to me.

I took my daughter to buy her first “grown up” car today. I always expect decent service whenever I buy a vehicle, but Melanie and Ben were an absolute joy! If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I would recommend the Hertz SPRINGFIELD, VA location to any of my friends simply because of their customer service! At no point and time did I feel like just another customer walking in the dealership. From the moment I walked in, I felt like family! After dealing with another dealership for a week and still not having a vehicle, I thought all was lost and I just wanted a car so I could get the entire process over with. But the Hertz family took over and ensured me every step of the way that everything was going to be just fine. My car dealer’s name was Mel (Melanie) and the manager who finished the deal was Ben (Benjamin). They are truly the best in the business and you should keep them working for this company as long as you can! TRULY STELLAR EMPLOYEES!!! It’s easy to find workers and tell the customer to point and sign here, here and here but at this Hertz location, that wasn’t my experience at all. During my experience, Mel said to find people who VALUE the journey and making it a lasting one for your customers, those are the employees you want to keep around! Even while the banks were running the numbers, Mel, Milana and myself got to enjoy some conversation and food stories to make the process so seamless. Truly one of the BEST experiences I’ve ever had even with my career in retail, the experiences compared to no other one like it and I can’t wait until my next car purchase!I love my new car and I couldn’t have done with without the people at THIS location! I recommend them to the highest of recommendations even if you are just browsing, go see them!
