My car would die after a day so and after visits to 5 or 6 regular mechanics and paying for way more jump starts than I would like to admit, I found J&L Auto Electric Specialists and asked if they could work a miracle. Larry kept in touch and kept me informed of every bit of progress made. They were able to do no one else could do, and my car is back in fine standing. I would and will recommend J&L to anyone having electrical issues with their vehicle. I would give them 6 stars if possible.

Have used J&L several times for repairs and maintenance on both my vehicle and my sons. Highly recommend Larry & Terry. They explain what is needed so that we could understand what we were paying for and why the work was necessary. Their prices are competitive with other repair shops and you know who is working on your car here. The trust was built over time. They haven't let us down.

My 300zx needed an entire electrical makeover, nothing was working. Larry was able to fix all the issues and find all the parts for this old car and get it the state inspection it needed. Larry was always vocal about any changes that needed happen, without him I don't know what I would have done.

I would highly recommend against getting your car serviced at J & L Auto Electric Repair, and instead find a for a more transparent repair shop. I took my car in to diagnose an electrical issue a few weeks ago, and when I asked for pricing and a rough cost estimate, Larry (one of the owners) could not give an estimate. Understandable at the time, since we didn't know what the issue was or how long it could take to diagnose it. I was told I would have my car back several days later, and would be given updates as they continued to diagnose and fix the issue. As it turns out, I never received updates from J & L unless I called them at the end of the day. Throughout the repair process, when I called to ask several times times how long the mechanic had been working on the car and how much the work was costing, Larry would never give me an answer, citing "I'm not the mechanic." Larry would then ask for my permission to perform repairs, which seemed unfair given that I was never updated on how long the work had already taken, and I started to feel like I was writing a blank check. My concern continued to grow, and when I finally received my car a day later than when Larry promised I would receive it, I was hit with a MUCH larger repair bill than I had ever estimated - a bill close to a thousand dollars should NEVER be a surprise to a customer. That is poor professionalism. Lesson learned: I would never recommend having your car serviced by a repair shop like J & L that will not tell you how long they have been working on your car, or at least attempt to give you a rough ongoing cost estimate. If you are considering using this shop, you should search for a more transparent and honest auto repair shop where you will have a better idea about how much money you are spending on repairs.
