I decided to get my hair done at the JcPenny salon in Springfield Mall and loved my experience. My stylist name was Kenya. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. By the time I left Kenya's chair, I had a new stylist and a fresh, bouncey new hair style. Will definitely go back again.

I had stopped visiting the salon for years of last-minute cancellations, lack of hairdressers and bad customer service. I decided to go back to appointments, and my experience has been worse. I come in, and they tell me that Angela is booked. Then they finally asked me to return two hours later, and still confused, they said she was booked. Another day, I made an appointment for today. Someone confirmed last night, only to receive a text two hours before my appointment from Angela to reschedule for Monday. I made the appointment for today because I need it. Why would you res reschedule for Monday? Those two Hispanic girls are very irresponsible. I will never, ever, for as long as I live in this area, recommend or make another appointment in this salon. It is evident that Angela works for pleasure and has no passion for her work.Service: Shampoo & conditioning

Yoooooo!! This is the worst JCP everrrr! Lol but seriously. I don't really shop at JCP, and honestly I'm surprised that they are still open. I ONLY purchase things online and come to pickup. Every single time I come in here to pick up my item(s) there is only one person working, with no more than 2-3 ppl in line but it's suuuuper long. The employees move HELLA slow. Stir clear if you can, or better yet, just have your items shipped to you. God be with you if you have to come to this location for anything! LOL

Just tried to purchase some sheets and couldn't do it. The sheets did not have a bar code and no one at J C Penny's could manage to figure it out. They even sent my wife to go figure it out. So we walked over to Macy's and bought them their. Easy sale thrown out by bad service. Glad I'm not an investor.

I've always been a shopper at Penny's ever since I was in high school, and maybe even before that. This place was the first department store credit card that I got when I was young. The e only thing that I can remember that I bought here though we're 2 roller type outages, that I still use to this day as a matter of fact. I had some repair work done to one of the luggages, but other than that they've worked out just fine! Thinking about it now, I can remember way back in the day when my wife at the time and I purchased some actual furniture here. They offered me the revolving credit line, and we were all set. In my 20"s I got my haircut here in the salon more than a handful of times. Ahhh the good old days! I took a long around today just to see what the store was up to, and it looks like they are still kicking it. I didn't buy anything today, but perhaps another day I will come back to do some serious shopping!

Your middle eastern employees are rude as hell. I look Hispanic but I'm Pakistani. The s*** I hear in Urdu about me and other people being helped is unacceptable. The one helping me realized i was staring at her as if I understood and then asked me where I'm from. When I told her she seemed very surprised.. And then I was asked what my name was and when I told her she proceeded to say what type of name is that it's not paki and told me my name might aswel have been something else.... Asked who the 2 shirts are for and when I said me she gave a weird comment. Felt so disrespected. Upside to my shitty Thursday, the women in jewelry department was super sweet and saw I was in a rush and asked her customers to wait while she grabbed me my ring for pick up! Proceeded to thank me for my patience when I barely waited!!! Love employees that are HAPPY to do their job cudos to you for being alone and juggling multipul customers an hour before closing!!!!

God awful customer service from the call center. I placed an order on 11/24/2021 and made sure my billing and shipping info was correct, in fact my account settings even list my current address. I however also had an old address from over 10 years ago on my account. That is where the order was sent to. Granted it was sent in 2 days, which was great. But there was no attempt from the customer service rep to assist me, she cold/blind transferred me to Rosalyn, a senior member rep, who disconnected the call when I replied "yes" when she asked if there was anything else that she can help me with. This was after a 50 minute call, half of which I was on hold without the rep checking back in on me. They would not offer to reship my order to my current address, and wanted me to track it down with ups as it was already delivered. Additionally they said the order would be retrieved by ups and then sent to the warehouse and I would be refunded in a week and a half to two weeks. I do the exact same job as Rosalyn does, but for a different company and there is no way we would have kept a customer on hold that long, nor would we have disconnected the call, and if it did disconnect we would attempt to call the member back, and in conclusion we would reship the order to the member. I am shocked and appalled the JC Penny would treat customers in such a manner and that their reps would be so poorly trained.

Another poor review for the Photo studio/portrait area. First of all, the store itself says masks recommended. It doesn't even make sense that you have to wear mask in their waiting area, remove it while taking photos, then wear it again when you want to check your make-up!! People come here to have nice photos taken, but yet they are crazy about the mask policy. When I had to check my make-up in the mirror she asked me to put on my mask again in the waiting area. Does it even make sense to do that?? What's the point of the mask when your makeup will smear. The waiting area isn't even that packed to be so impulsive about this mask issue. If you are scared, then simply don't come out and have photos taken! Whoever is running this portrait studio clearly doesn't care about customer service. They hire a bunch of teenagers off the street to take your photos as well.

My issue with the store is with the store manager at JC Penney, Springfield, VA. He has the poorest customer service I have ever experienced in a department store. He should not be in this position if he is not going to be responsive to customers. First, I was double-charged at the salon. I contacted the store and spoke with the store manager. He said that he thought it was something with my bank; however, I told him that it could not be because I could see the money is pending to be removed. Nevertheless, we agreed that I would check with my bank, and he would check the salon receipts and get back to me. I left him my contact information, and I never heard back from him. However, I called back after I spoke with my bank to clarify that the problem was with JC Penney and not the bank. I never heard back from him. But, because the store did not push the transaction through, per my bank, then the transaction was canceled after 3 days. About 1 1/2 weeks later, I had made a salon appointment online, and when I arrived, the stylist wasn't even scheduled to work that day. The system had made an error. I spent 30 minutes driving there, just to find out the system made an error. I asked again to speak with the store manager; however, he was on leave that day. I spoke with an assistant because I was now very irritated with JC Penney wasting my time. I left a message for the store manager to contact me. I was there when the assistant texted him and left him an email regarding my issue and concerns, and I never received a follow-up call from the manager. He did not even have the decency to provide me with a call, or even offer a discount at the salon. This is the poorest customer service I have ever received at a department store. Whomever this manager is, should not be a store manager, if he could not do the simplest thing like return a customer's phone call or follow through with a concern or issue like he said he would. This is "customer no-service", and this manager gets a -1 star.

This was my first time going to this salon. I had made an appointment for 1pm with Jeanne. She is the worst possible stylist ever. She gave me the vibes of how she did not want to style my hair because they were too long and that she had some neck/arm problems. She continued to tell me the price can rise and i had no time to argue so i asked her to just blowdry my hair. First she conditions and wash my hair with so hot water, then set me under the dryer with pins that scraped my scalp. And lastly the blowdry she used legit used it on my skin that i screamed with pain. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I never write bad reviews and i was really easy going and just wanted to get out of that chair before she burns my hair or my scalp. If she is not capable of being a stylist then she shouldn’t be working as one and rather be a receptionist. Please I recommend anyone to never go to this salon, highly unprofessional!!!Service: Hairstyling
