Publix at Embery Mills is clean and well stocked with a variety of food and produce. Our trip today included only the deli that hosts Boar's Head meats and cheeses. They have an efficient staff cutting meats to your desired specifications.

Thank goodness Giants Grocery store treats its customers with respect and does not create suspicion based on color of its customers. On Friday, 8 December, I attempted to purchase gift cards at the Publix store 1640 Publix WayStafford, VA 22554United States Although I had a corporate card, my drivers license, and I offered to retrieve my corporate identification in the car, the store refused to sell me the gift cards because the cashier thought my purchase of gift cards was fishy and William, the manager, thought my actions was suspicious. My Story;Currently I am a Human Resource Manager for a distribution company that likes to acknowledge its employees for good performance by handing out $50 and $100 gift cards.Normally, I send my Human Resources Representatives to purchase the cards at the Publix store in Stafford County. It is important to note that both of these employees are people of color and we usually purchase gift cards ranging from $500-$1000 per transaction. Since I was purchasing over $1500 in gift cards, I thought it probably easier to go to the customer service desk. This way I would not hold up the cashier line. When I approached the customer service desk, I was informed by the cashier that David, the store manager, provided instructions to his team that they were not to sell any more gift cards to my employees or the company in which I work for. The cashier stated that my actions looked fishy. I asked to talk to a store manager and a few minutes later William appeared. I asked William about the stores refusal to sell me gift cards and he commented that he wasn't going to sell me the cards because our consistent purchase of gift cards looked questionable. William then wanted to know why we were buying so many gift cards and I told him it was for our employees so we could pay them. Once again, when I questioned the stores decision not to sell me gift cards, William commented that my actions looks questionable and that the store has a right to refuse service to its customers. Even though I had a corporate card, and my identification with me, that still wasn't good enough for this store to sell me gift cards. When I offered to go out to my car to get my employee badge, William commented that the badge was something that I could've easily had made myself.Once again I challenge their perception that my actions appeared suspicious. I encouraged William to call the Stafford County Sherriff's Department to report my actions as suspicious. William refused. However, William, once again, acknowledged that my actions appeared suspicious and the store has a right to refuse service to its customers. Once again, I encouraged William to call the Stafford County Sherriff's Department to report my suspicious behavior but William refused. I offered to stay so that the Sherriff's department could arrest me for suspicious or fraudulent behavior . Again, william refused to call the Stafford County Sherriff's Department. Finally, William did say he would call the Sherriff office to have me removed from the store.I encourage William to call the Stafford County Sherrif Dept to remove me from the store. At this point, William had that "deer in the headlights" look in his eyes as he was not sure what actions to take. When I asked to get the number to the regional manager, William refuse to provide that information and said I could just leave the store .So, I left the store went to Giants and purchase my gift cards So I'm still a little confused as to why a store would refuse to sell gift cards to someone with a corporate card and two identifications . Furthermore, I can only question if both of my employees, who made previous gift card purchases, would have been Caucasian, would that have made a difference?Either way, if you want great customer service experience where you're going be treated respectfully , then go shop at Giants. I haven't visited a Publix since living in Florida. It was a step up from the Win Dixie!I'm seeing it today in Stafford VA! It was nice inside, just as I remembered. They have everything, including hot gourmet meals, ready to go. It isn't that expensive when it is compared to stores like Giant either.I will definitely be back.

It felt great to go into Publix that day. I had to drive an hour to the store but everything was clean. Produce was fresh. I grabbed as much as I could. I love Publix. I grew up in the south where there are a lot but not a lot near DC. This was a great experience. Everyone was nice to include the vendors.

I have never been more thrilled to go inside a grocery store in my life. It is clean, beautiful, and well stocked. It instantly makes my back stop aching and my skin glow like I ate a bunch of fire flies. Do NOT miss out on the opportunity to see this place for yourself.

I love this store! Clean store and friendly employees. I was surprised to find Ritter Sport white chocolate with whole hazelnuts and Jamaican tamarind balls in the store. It's been years since I've seen that chocolate bar in stores. I got the last 2.

I came in for the famous Publix sub for my dinner and was impressed with the Ultimate sub, but not impressed with the lack of service! The young lady who made my sub was very polite and courteous, but I think it's ridiculous to have other Deli team members doing various other jobs when there are 7 people in line waiting! The manager was so engulfed with taking down the salad bar that he couldn't see the line at 7:00pm? That's not my level of customer service, but again, the sub was definitely an ultimate!

Publix is always an experience. It's clean, the staff is helpful and lovely. The deli is high quality. I just wish I didn't have to travel 40 minutes to get there. I wish they had one closer.

I would give zero starts if I could . I went with my minor daughter to buy a pastry for a party that we had . We were looking for a cheesecake and we didn't find any . The lady Lisa from the bakery was sorting some deserts in the counter.she was talking to another customer and she was ignoring us for couple minutes then I decided to asked her if they have some cheesecakes. The lady attitude was absolutely rude and even other customer told her that her behavior was totally rude . The lady was screaming and yelling that she would not even talk to us and she went inside the bakery storming . Finally thr bakery manager approached to take carr of our order, he apologized for her. The lady attitude was totally unprofessional . For a business that is supposed to be about customer service. They didn't impressed me as a company that cares about their customers . Can you imagine If you have a especial request and this lady would yell the hell out of the way?I have no clue if Liza had a bad day or not but given my experience with her I don't know if any one would want to come back

The Publix at Embrey Mill in Stafford, VA, has consistently provided an outstanding shopping experience. The staff here is exceptional—friendly, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. The store is impeccably clean and well-organized, making my shopping trips efficient and enjoyable. Their selection of fresh produce, quality meats, and a wide variety of products is impressive.I'm particularly grateful for the Publix bakery and deli sections, offering delicious, freshly prepared items. The bakery's bread and pastries are irresistible, and the deli's sandwiches are a treat.Additionally, the Publix pharmacy team is knowledgeable and efficient, making prescription refills a breeze. This store's commitment to customer service, cleanliness, and quality products truly sets it apart. Shopping at Publix Embrey Mill in Stafford is a pleasure, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. It's a true gem in the community! ??

They always help me to my car. Completely amazing. Very sweet. If I misunderstand a sale, or coupon. They take their time to explain things in detail for me.I have a little human that gets into things and they always help me keep her occupied as I load the belt, and my car.I couldn’t tell if they were having a bad day because everyone smiles and greets you.Completely amazing and different being from NYC. One of the few grocery stores in North Stafford that has bike stands. There are walking and cycling paths nearby, so getting there is fairly safe (I cycle from Aquia Harbor, avoiding Route 1 and 610 if at all possible). Selection is pretty good, with some items not found in other area stores. The staff has always been friendly and quick through checkout.

Horrible experience getting subsThe employee at the sub counter was incredibly rude and spoke to us like we were dim, but couldn’t even get the order right. We ordered a steak and cheese with no peppers and a meatball sub. When she started making the steak and cheese, she threw peppers in the tray to cook. We asked for no peppers and she responded “are you kidding me, dude?”Then she picked some of the peppers out but we still ended up with peppers on the sub. While the peppers and meatballs were cooked/cooking, she put mayo on one of the sub rolls (intended for the steak and cheese sub), but she put the meatballs on the sub with mayo. We didn’t notice that until we got home.In the 5 minutes it took for us to get home with our subs, they were soggy, the inside of the meatballs were cold, and the topping weren’t even right. We definitely won’t be back. It really goes to show that some region-specific companies shouldn’t try to expand.
