We don't know anything about this place, except that we got directions and planned to eat here, but it was closed outside of its regular hours. We could see people inside, but the door was locked. We ended up eating at Blu Point Seafood, which was great.

Had a nice stop in for an afternoon snack at Baja bean. Service was fast and we got the grande nachos which was HUGE (as the name implies). The refried black beans had nice texture and the food was perfect for an afternoon snack.Vegetarian options: You can see some vegetarian dishes and can ask the wait staff for vegan.

I'd put our experience at a weak four. We were told to seat ourselves but the available tables all had chips on the seats or dirty tables. Despite being almost empty service was very limited and apathetic. The chips were average. The salsa was quite good and more of a pico de gallo style. My husbands queso covered burrito was average in flavor with the queso applied at room temperature so it started to dry out quickly. The Buddha bowl was a lot of rice/quinoa to substance. Personally, I think the pumpkin seeds added a very omega note that didn't feel very Tex Mex. I think a 50/50 ratio of the rice and quinoa to a seasoned black bean with salsa on top would be a quite good dish. As made it was mostly rice and corn.

Lovely dive bar with cheap drinks and tasty food. Their homemade Diablo hot sauce is delicious. Give Baja Bean Co. a shot.

Lets go back a few years- 2000. Every Friday the Carpentry crew would eat lunch at Bajas- in Williamsburg (now closed). We loved the place and the food. A great end to the workweek. We decided to visit Staunton since we have never been here and discovered there was a BajaBC here! We had to eat in the bar section since we were too early for the dining area to open (which was drafty since there was a gap in the window I was sitting next to.)I had fish tacos and my wife a CCunga. We also got the 'fixings' to make it a proper meal. We thought the prices seemed low, but the 'fixings' were junior size. well, as I took my first bites i could tell this was not going to be good. Mind you I am known to my wife as not a picky eater. I could not eat the rice which tasted bizarre and tough. The fish in the fish taco was a fried fish-stick?And I couldn't identify the flavors of anything on my plate, except the sour cream. Our sweet server prevented me from sending the food back, I even didn't want her to know I didn't eat everything by covering it with my napkin.I was hoping that there was something wrong with me- but later my wife confessed she found the food unacceptable.I really don't have any advice- I'm a small business owner and want us all to succeed. The food really looks good- but maybe review your meals with feedback. Maybe leave a card on the table that asks for your opinion of how the food tasted- specifically. I don't want anyone's jobs to suffer from low reviews- but I have NEVER had bad food at a Mexican style restaurant, until We ate there. Best Wishes.

Seriously… get the taquitos. They are five (5) full crisp fried pieces of perfection!

If you've ever been to the "old" Baja bean, you would be disappointed.... Prices have shot up and portions have gotten smaller, speaking of smaller, the menu is about 1/4 the size of what it used to be. And no, it's not like the best items were consolidated, the items on the menu now are generic and non original, at best. Most of the entrees don't even come with rice and beans or sides in general. A queso burrito is $14 and to add rice and beans as a side is another $5, so almost $20 for a burrito half the size of what they used to be. A regular burrito is only $8, however the regular burrito only had chicken and cheese in it, not any rice or beans, so essentially it's a rolled up quesadilla. You can't even order guacamole as an appetizer. I could go on and on. As someone who grew up here, this used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Staunton.

The chicken fajita burrito was easily the most bland burrito I have ever had in my entire life. There was zero seasoning whatsoever. It was also extremely overpriced for what it was at $14. I have honestly had better burritos at Taco Bell.

Great atmosphere. Downtown Staunton vibes are incredible. Buddha Bowl is literally one of the tastiest things I've eaten! Staff was young and super friendly.

Nice place with inexpensive Mexican food and some vegetarian options. Service was very good at 2:00 in the afternoon. We were 2 vegans so ate the vegetable fajitas with an extra side of guacamole and extra tortillas. The complimentary salsa was delicious with the chips.

A cute down-to-earth Mexican restaurant with a simple menu, good food, relaxed vibe, and fast service. They provide free chip and salsa as a welcome gift (nice touch). It's a local business and it's always good to support local businesses. I got their street tacos (with shrimp). It was served fast and everything was done just right. The warm and thematic decors are really nice, and even toilets are marked Frida vs Diego. The ladies' room however had no light (bulb was out!)

Good service but the prices and the quality of the food that you receive do not align. Be prepared to pay $8 a drink for rail drinks... if I was in DC it would make sense, but here? Not so sure. You will get better deals and food at Taco Bell. It's pretty much just a late night spot to drink, so don't expect more than that.
