Pharmacist was loudly rude to staff and other customers. Got mad at me when I asked if I could wait for a prescription to be filled. Avoid like the plague -- especially if you have the plague -- because this location will not help you.

This CVS is chronically understaffed. Refills take days to fill. The staff is overworked and it shows by the way they treat customers. After 8 years of abuse, I have moved all of my Prescriptions elsewhere.

My husband and I had appointments to get our covid booster at Churchville Ave CVS in Staunton Va. We got there and the pharmacy was closed today because according to an employee the pharmacist didn't come to work today. When we signed up on line for our appointments I had to give my phone number and email address. Why couldn't we have been notified? When I went up to complain at the register I guess I used the wrong words. I told the little boy working there that I know he is nobody-meaning that I knew he wasn't management-but I wanted him to let management know that I had a complaint. Little boy said what do you mean I'm Nobody? I explained what I meant and he just kept on about how he is somebody and he went on and on about it. Customers were standing around laughing at him and Then he yelled I want your full name so I can have you banned from this store for life. Guess what- MY FULL NAME IS LOU BARTON-and I will never come back to a CVS again and its not because I couldn't get my booster it's because of Little Boy. Happy New Year

Let me first preface by saying I am currently a pharmacy technician at a retail pharmacy. My insurance prefers me to fill at CVS which is the only reason I do not use the pharmacy where I work. I was discharged from the ER last night and this morning got a text around 10 (when they open on Sundays) that my pain medication could not be processed. I tried to call for further info and could not get through to anyone. I wait in pain (passing a kidney stone) all day for updates trying to get a hold of someone and finally call around 4:30 and they say my pain meds didn't have the supervising Provider's DEA number (this makes sense in regards to state laws because a PA cannot prescribe meds without it) and that they have contacted the doctor and not heard back. I call the ER, get through immediately and sure enough talk to someone in person who says CVS did not contact them today. They give me a direct line to give to the pharmacy. I call CVS back and am put on hold and then hung up on. I decided to go in person. I get there and ask for the pharmacy manager. He is not there. I asked the female staff pharmacist about it and she immediately gets an attitude and says "I call all the time and tell them they need to include the DEA number". I say "okay but did you call today for MY script?" She says "no I faxed them". So her story has already changed and unless their computer system is completely backwards that's not what you do to get a DEA number on a schedule 2 prescription. So I say "okay, here's the number. Call them now while I wait to make sure you do your job" and she's immediately nasty saying basically that's it's the hospital's fault. Which yes, they should have included the number- no one's disputing that this could have all been avoided if they had just sent the script in with the number in the first place. However, it IS her job to call and speak to someone when they don't. She says "I'll do it this one time but never again" which is completely inappropriate. You cannot withhold medication from someone because you are too lazy to do your job. So I ask for her name to file a complaint. She ignored me and walks away. I hear her call the ER and low and behold immediately gets through with no issues and I overhear her telling them that she's not going to fill for "this patient" aka me again. Within 10 minutes both meds are ready. It's one thing to be understaffed and busy. I get that. As stated above I also work in a retail pharmacy but we ALWAYS call when there is an issue on a prescription in order to help patients get their meds. The fact that she refused and basically implied she wasn't going to fill my meds for me because I asked her to do her job is appalling to me and I will be contacting corporate as well as the board of pharmacy. After reading all these reviews I encourage you all to do the same. Her name is Joan Hartzler and if she can't do basic tasks like call about a DEA number and then lie about it to my face (someone who is literally in the SAME industry and knows all the same laws) then she doesn't deserve to have her job.

If you want to be treated like a nuisance get your vaccination here. I made an appointment here with my mother to get her covid booster after the first appointment was canceled without notification due to the CVS pharmacy in target in wanesboro closing because of staffing issues. I was upset that there was no notification, not because it was closed. That was understandable because there is a labor shortage. That is especially true of pharmacists. We arrived at the churchville avenue location a bit early for her appointment. The clerk was obviously and entirely uninterested and unsympathetic about what happened with the wanesboro store. We were asked to produce insurance information. We were unaware that the government had stopped subsidizing covid shots, so there was some confusion about this, regardless we attemped to gather the information. We were asked to wait for the pharmacist. The pharmacist was also entirely unsympathetic about the canceled appointment and actually DEFENDED the management at the target store citing the pharmacist shortage, which shouldn't have mattered because once again the problem wasn't that the appointment was canceled due to lack of staff, but that it was canceled without notice. Apparently they were able to pull up her insurance information because the pharmacist was prepared to administer the shot. We were not aware that they had her insurance information and asked the pharmacist about the situation with the insurance and that we were under the impression that it was supposed to be a free (government subsidized) shot. One of the team members at the wanesboro target store had said so. (I'm unsure if they were a pharmacist or a clerk.) She said that it wasn't a free shot and that that's why they needed the insurance information. She was being impatient saying things like "is this gonna be your right or left arm I haven't got all day" which was ridiculous because of the lack of communication. she thought she was going to have to pay out of pocket and needed to know that she wasn't before proceding. I am fuming at this point and tell my mother that we just need to leave and that I wasn't going to stay and see her treated this way anymore, but she went through with it anyway. The pharmacist saying things like "it's a free shot I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about it" I flipped that b**** the bird on my way out. I am a very understanding person. I understand that covid has made it difficult to have a full staff, but that is EVERY industry right now NOT JUST YOURS, and it does not give you the right to treat people badly! if we had been shown even an OUNCE of sympathy during our visit here I would have been happy, but never in my life have I ever felt as strongly about never visiting a business again. I will drive 30 minutes out if my way if it means I never have to set foot in a cvs again.

These pharmacy technicians treat their customers horribly. I 100% understand working with the public can be tough, but it’s unacceptable to take your frustration out on customers in an abusive manner. Upper management finds this behavior acceptable (or don’t feel like dealing with the issue), so I don’t believe anything will change.

We come for prescriptions, and that's it. We barely even dare to come for anything else. It's okay, just not for what you need.

Store does not open at 8:00am as posted on the front doors and website. Myself and 2 other cars of people waited for about 15 minutes before leaving. My time is valuable too. Very disappointing.

If you call the pharmacy, they pick up and then hang up! Tried to call several times!recently I was in to fill an Rx and asked pharmacist, Dimitri, to show me how to use a certain medication and was told “that’s not my job”. He told me it was the job of the doctor, not him. Then he proceeded to tell me to watch YouTube videos to figure it out. Wow! Really? This person has no business being a pharmacist.

I came to the Churchville Avenue CVS in great pain to pickup an emergency prescription for shingles. We had confirmed that the Rx was filled and ready because the pharmacy is a 45 minute drive from our home.

I came to the Churchville Avenue CVS in great pain to pickup an emergency prescription for shingles. We had confirmed that the Rx was filled and ready because the pharmacy is a 45 minute drive from our home. We arrived at the drive-through several minutes before closing. The pharmacist and two technicians had closed early and explained that they close according to the wall clock. This in spite of the fact that we all had cell phones showing the correct time. The pharmacist in particular was rude and made it abundantly clear that my pain and the actual time made no difference to her. Both techs knew they had closed early, but took no responsibility, saying only that it was up to the pharmacist

I stopped coming to this Pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions because I was being discriminated against and jerked around and told oh come back in an hour or two to get it when I had already called it in and it should have been available. They absolutely look at you when you come to pick up your prescription is it you're a criminal and you should not be picking up that prescription. It made me so mad that I just took my business elsewhere. There's a great independently owned Pharmacy here in town called Ray Pharmacy go there if you want to be treated with dignity and respect. Here's a great article highlighting the way CVS has been discriminating against patients who need their pain medication please read it.
