Simply stated:
- prices are nearly $1 more than local competitors
- horrible customer service
- drivers don’t read account notes: gate codes and phone calls

Absolutely no help at all! I never received the return call that I was told I would get. Customer Service tried to tell me my bill had not changed, and tried to tell me I didn't know how to read the bill! I'm on the budget plan equal payments year round with possibly 1 adjustment at the end of the contract. My bill has changed 3 times in 9 months.

They should read all the notes and see why they are horrible. Over a month of waiting and what must be over 30 hours of holding, and phone conversations trying to get a solution, pipes bursted, floors damaged, kitchen needed repairs and lost over $8,000 because of their lack of ability to resolve problems and miscommunication. I’m still waiting on 5 “supervisors” to call me back.

Probably the WORST customer service I have received from a company in my 17 years of business ownership.
My deliveries (I am set to auto delivery) have been skipped every time since I signed up with Amerigas. When asked why, the call center (not local) could not give me an answer.
I have run out of propane 3 times this winter. The first time my pipes froze costing me $1000 in damage repair.
Each time I try to get a direct answer re delivery from the call center I am read the same script of apologies and non-guarantees.
This last delivery was over a week late causing my business to NOT HAVE HEAT during 10-15 degree F temperatures for almost a week. My staff and customers were freezing.
NO LOCAL SUPPORT, no personal support and the most horrible level of care for a customer's needs. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

While we were traveling out of the country, our propane amount was less than 15%. We are supposed to be preferred customers. We are on automatic delivery. We have been customers for over 8 years. It took 12 days in 20 degree weather to get delivery. Delivery was promised on Jan 22-25, Jan 28th and finally received a delivery on Jan 31st. There were 24 phone calls made, some escalated to customer resolution team. This cost internationally for us was $300.00. Amerigas used to be a great company before you decided to export customer service to another country. Bring customer service back to the UNITED STATES. You deserve the F rating that you receive on BBB. Horrible and stressful experience. Yes. you can use this for promotional purposes. Maybe it will spare someone else the experience that we had. Two of our neighbors ran out of gas during the same time frame. Totally UNACCEPTABLE.

The most unprofessional company ever!
3 1/2 hours to speak to a supervisor as the customer “service” reps can not resolve anything! Will overcharge and send bills that are not correct on a regular basis.
Should be 0 stars

How this company remains in business I will never know. Awful overseas call centers, high prices, and very long delivery dates. I’m done. Southern states here I come….

Driver attempted to deliver Jan 17. He was kind enough to walk my driveway (snow packed), and read my tanks. 16 gal. He advised I turn off furnace because I had a fire place. I did. Been heating since then with wood, also no hot water. I called for a new delivery date and was told they cannot come before Feb 6-11. I am a senior citizen.. my home has been between 39-50 degrees for a week and a half and now I have to wait another 2 weeks. Was told my region does not offer emergency deliveries. I am so disappointed in AmeriGas.

I have been without gas for 6 days now. Ordered gas on 1/10 and was told it would be here between the 17-20th. Customer service couldn’t do anything and they told me there wasn’t anyone I could talk to that is in my actual area. If you aren’t already a customer DO NOT use this company. I already had to fix a burst pipe in my house because there is no heat and my electric bill is going to be higher because the one room I can stay in with my animals is being heated by a space heater.

My husband and I ordered gas on December 31, 2024. AmeriGas notified us to expect delivery on January 4, 2025. On the 4th they sent an email saying the delivery was delayed and to expect it between January 7- January 10. On January 10 they told us the delivery was delayed. On January 11 they told us it was out for delivery but undeliverable due to snow and ice— although the roads, driveway, a path to the tank and the tank itself were all free of snow and ice. On the thirteenth we called customer service which is now based in India. After three hours on the phone a supervisor there told us that we could have the delivery that day or the next if we paid them $300. As we are nearly out of gas at this point, we paid it. They never showed and so never delivered. We called back today and were told that the expedited delivery for $300 was not available in our area but that it was credited to our account. Why were we sold a service that was never available and why are they refusing to refund it but will only credit it? We were also told that the drivers have no schedule and that they could not provide us with any estimated delivery date. So, here were are, with temperature lows in the single digits, and no real means of heating our home or cooking food.
AmeriGas also started charging an annual tank rental fee a couple of years ago for $180, despite the fact that the tank has been on the property for close to 20 years. In addition, they charge a $25 annual tank inspection fee but no one ever comes out to inspect the tank. In short, it’s a scam of a business designed to fleece as much money out of you as possible and provide little to no service. I would recommend avoiding them. Like the plague.

Been without gas for over a week now because they pushing back our delivery dates. Every time we’ve called to ask for an update we’re on hold for an hour only to have a rude representative who clearly couldn’t care less, tell us they’ll “try and get us scheduled sooner”. Now they’re saying they were unable to deliver due to road conditions when our road has been plowed for days! Cue them pushing our delivery date back another 3 days? A horrible company who clearly doesn’t care about keeping their customers.
Update: turns out the driver didn’t even attempt the delivery.

Amerigas asked for a review, and then the bot had the gall to suggest that I post the review to google. So I'm posting.
My experience with you has been terrible. I have a landlord account. Instead of billing my tenant - who placed the order - for gas, you billed me.
Then when they contacted you to correct the situation, apparently you tried to bill them for a full tank of gas that I had paid for approximately a year ago. That borders on criminal.
The previous occupant of the house had warned me about what a pain in the neck you people were to deal with, and she was exactly right.
On top of it, your website sucks. Firstly it's just weird and ugly. I couldn't get my log-on for online management of the account to work, and I received no response to my help request.

Called to inquire about having my tanks recertified, but the customer service rep said that Amerigas no longer recertifies propane tanks.. Yet it is a menu option when you call..

Took a day off work to facilitate the delivery amount of gas promised not delivered. Next delivery the cost of gas per gallon increased substantially.

I have no problem with your delivery service, but I have a HUGE problem with your continued attempts to charge me an annual tank rental fee. I have been a loyal customer for almost 13 years. I believe I paid for the tank when I bought the house. If not, I have continued with your service despite the fact that you costs are a bit higher than your local competitors.
