All I have to say is this particular location is terrible! I had submitted my documents online and it had been over 3 business days and my tax pro did not even bother to get back to me. When I called them to ask about the status of my situation, I was told that the Tax Pro is extremely busy and would only be able to file after the deadline. I would have appreciated if they could have sent me a message (when I uploaded my documents) saying that it would take longer to get back to me. Very unprofessional staff at this particular location. I would not recommend the STERLING location at all.

Stay away! Find another branch! Herndon branch as an example is wonderful, but whatever you do, just don't go to this Sterling location at Community Plaza!
I made an appointment online with them earlier in the week for 6pm today for an older friend and received confirmation. When we got to the Community Plaza where they're located, Google Maps didn't quite take us to the door step. I called the office to find out exactly where they were, only to reach this NASTY individual who not only wouldn't tell me where they were located, but insisted that we do not have an appointment and should not even visit their office! She even lied by telling us the office closed at 5pm, when they were actually open until 9pm on Thursdays 3/27/2025! Maybe she was a disgruntled employee trying to harm the branch, but either way the experience was totally shocking! She claimed the H&R block website was inaccurate and I should not have used it to make the appointment. She claimed they called us 4 times to let us know that we did not have an appointment, but it was all a lie. There were NO missed or received calls on the phone she claimed they called. We finally did find the office that was a few doors down from where Google Maps took us and went inside. We were confronted by the same individual and she was just as nasty, and rude as hell, telling us that they wouldn't even accept walk ins when H&R Block heavily advertises it. Needless to say we left that office totally shocked and frustrated. I called another nearby branch (Herndon) from the parking lot. They greeted us so courteously and gave us an appointment right away. We were able to drive over and get our taxes filed without any issues. The difference was night and day! My advise... Just do yourself a favor and avoid the Sterling location at Community Plaza altogether!

Nice and efficient staff but prices keeps going up and no discounts/coupons for long time customers.

We have gone to this office off and on for years. After today, will never step foot in another H&R Block Office. My husband went in a few weeks ago and met with Ms Madhavi Gorantla. She made an appt, for him to come back today at 10 AM with me and our additionanl tax info. Ms Bettina Herr also made the appt. at the front desk. We went today and waited in the cold for 10 minutes as they opened late (Ms Gorantla had a "personal issue). At that time another client came in for his 10AM appt.. She said she had no record of our appt. and had to wait for her to finish with the other client. At that time (about 10:20) Ms Herr arrived and my husband told her she made the appt at the front desk. She was very rude and said we were suppose to make it online. Why, when the store made it for us and Ms Herr said we were all set? She then said that they were having trouble with our global system. When I said how can you do taxes when your system can not even do appointments, Ms Herr said "lose the attitude and stop being belligerant". I asked for her supervisor's card, which she did not have, She told me to call the Leesburg storel and to GET OUT! BTW, there was not one single apology and Ms Herr was rude from the start. Also, when they asked the name of the other client they had no record of this appointment either. I did call Leesburg and all I got from the Manager an offer to find another Capable Tax Analyst at another store. So much for our wasted morning and the way Ms Herr treats clients and the Leesburg office admitted she has some people isues. Anyhow, never again going to H&R Block.

Paid $620 dollars for filing a joint tax return with my wife. An extension was filed. Other than that 3 w2 and one door dash w10, with 2 dependants. The only one way to express their price model is disgusting. Save your money and file with people who will not use deception. I'd give it a zero but it won't let me

My husband and I have been coming to this branch for more than 5 years (except for last year when we did our own taxes). We always had a great experience with Shilpa. This was the worst experience in any customer service interaction. The issue was that Bettina Herr said that we couldn’t make a payment to IRS directly from our bank account because we were late in preparing our taxes. She continued to say that we were late in preparing our taxes and I told her that doing them on the last day, 4/15/2023 is not being late. She yelled at me, “You are late! And you were lucky to get an appointment today!.” I was shocked at her unprofessionalism and told her not to speak to me in that tone. The other ladies that work there, including Yvette from the reception desk had to come to her work area because they heard her yelling at me. Even my 4 year old daughter said, “How rude.” For someone to talk to me in front of my daughter like that is the most disrespectful, unprofessional and insulting behavior I have ever experienced. I will never visit this branch again and only paid because I needed the taxes filed today. I think it would only be the right thing to do to refund the $300+ we paid for this horrible experience.

Completely disorganized, apathetic, belligerent, providing misinformation and tax information not in a timely manner during tax season. The tax forms were shoved at me, I was overcharged from what I was quoted, and snarled at, forced out of the Block office. Completely unprofessional workers.

I when for help in the building and it result that the person specialize in the Taxes returns was in yoga classes while she supposed to be at work so I had to wait for around 40 minutes and then that person told me that the unique way to help me was to pay them while I was in the deluxe help so she even that did not care and told me that she was not able to help at all and literally told me that I needed to leave the building when I got the deluxe package already paid. I DO NIT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY AT ALL IN LIFE!!!!!!!!

I noticed some bad reviews for this branch and I truly don’t see how it warrants it. I had a wonderful experience here with Berna as my tax associate. I had a unique tax situation requiring me to file by mail, otherwise I would have used TurboTax like I always do. But Berna was awesome, she’s new but made sure to triple check all bases to make sure everything was done correctly. Also want to shout out Fatima who helped us, she seemed to have a hectic morning but still took time to help us out. To the people complaining about service, understand that filing taxes takes time, especially if you have unique circumstances. Patience is key, the tax advisors are there to help. Thanks again to these guys!

Unprofessional. Do not file here!I went to file my taxes there for the first time and everybody was just unprofessional. I called to get a quote of how much it would be, but the number they told me was about $100 off from what they tried to charge me. I ended up filing my taxes online and got a larger refund than what they were offering me. They don't know what they are doing. Better off just filing them yourself.
