Showed up at 11:30 and the door was still locked. The kid playing piano in the store unlocked the door but didn't say a word to me. I was planning on buying a guitar dut since I didn't even get a grunt out of the kid I decided to go down the street to Melodee Music and buy a guitar. Won't ever return to this location, not even for picts.

These people charged our card even though they're unable to provide further classes. They're not even ready to refund instead asking us to adjust the amount with some other stuff from their store which is of no use to us. I should have given them zero rating. I would suggest to check for some alternative.

Had to make a a quick stop to buy some reeds on the way to a rehersal. I stopped by Music & Arts and notice a 2 packs of Vandoren reeds side by side on an end cap. One was for $9.99, the other was for $15.49. I asked if this was right. The person there scanned it and said it was $20. I gave them the other one and they said it was $20 something too. I went and got a box of reeds labeled $24. Took it to the register and it was $27+. In a hurry, I bought the $20 ones. Went to my car and though about it. Went back an said I wanted the ones labeled $9.99. It wasn't my fault the reeds are mislabeled. The other worker got the label, looked at it in their system, and said these other reeds (student beginner reeds) were the ones. That was an insult. They weren't going to honor the marked prices, so I returned the ones I bought. It felt like bait and switch. The next day I called the manager. He obligatorially apologized but added more insult to injury by saying I should have read the labels closer. The print is tiny by the way. He blamed it on them coming in and changing the prices but not changing the shelving. It is ineptness plain and simple. It was not about the money but the principle. I've never had any issues with the other Music & Arts locations. I frequent them because such stores are needed, especially now with the financial problems of their parent company, Guitar Center. However, until there is a change at the Sterling, VA location, I won't be going back. What an utter disappointment.

I picked up a oboe for my kid in middle school.I picked up one because I had a urgent need at the time. The sales people were not particularly knowledgeable and I had to use my gut to figure what I felt was decent . They did give me a discount for the first few months. I had the chance to inquire prices elsewhere and realized they were quite overpriced maybe twice or more than other places which offer similar services. I was in the trial period and cancelled and returned the instrument. They took it back no questions asked as advertised. I walked out happy for not locking . myself into a expensive contract. Would not recommend this place for renting instruments.

This store is full of predatory salespeople. I rented an instrument for my child for the school year and the sneaky clerk, with her eyes on the commission, signed me up for their LDW, insurance against damages without my consent. She took so long to process this transaction, that I did not notice the LDW charge until after she charged my credit card. When I got upset and told her to remove it, she disappeared in the back room and a young guy came over and said he was the manager. I don't know what he was, be he was not able to manage anything. It's been over ONE MONTH and still no refund. So, I disputed the charge and when my credit card company sent a charge-back, some pretentious, old woman from Frederick, MD sent me an email acting like this was all my fault. No apology, no sense of urgency, no attempt to turn things around, just a cold message to print out the attachment and MAIL it back to her. This company is poorly managed and I do not recommend dealing with them.
