What a waste of time. The ladies behind the counter show zero sense of urgency. Our ticket was around 45 minutes (sure that’s fine). When we walked in, one person was on the counter while the rest were trying clothes on in the mirror and texting. Upon coming back closer to the 45 minutes, our bag was still untouched as the girls were still chatting behind the counter (ones was sitting and texting in a pile of bins). We came back a third time 15 minutes after the suggested ready time and the girls were standing in a circle eating McDonald’s French fries - bags still untouched. When asked if our bags were ready, they looked at us and said “oh is the green bag yours? We haven’t started them. Uh 30 minutes”. I get that work gets busy, but with five people behind the counter goofing around, it’s really a bad look. From what we can tell, our bags were the only ones there the entire time and no one seemed to want to go through them. If you want to waste an afternoon waiting for them to check a bag, this is your place.

I went to this place earlier today when it first opened and I was the first customer I waited over an hour for them to just tell me that all of my products have stains or something on them, which is just simply not true so they looked at one thing and Said no to the entire collection of clothes that I have which was Two bins filled with clothes that did not have stains or anything like that. What a waste of time I do not recommend going to this place at all unless you want your time wasted.

Really poor customer service these girls do not care about making the store sales. They work very slow and with zero urgency I unfortunately wanted to make a purchase here this evening but after waiting in line at the register for 15 minutes, I asked if anyone else was available to bring me up since I was in a rush The girl looked at me with an attitude and explain that the other girl was on break. I’m not sure why someone would take a break at such a busy time. Super inconvenient. I hate that I wasted so much time.

What an AMAZING experience I had at this location. From the second I entered the door, the young ladies had greeted me with smiles and eager to help me with my many, many questions for them.
Taylor, Katie, and Gaby are the definition of great customer service! Friendly and very efficient, not to mention their bubbly personalities that remind me of myself at their age.
Very quick process, didn’t wait long and spent the time browsing the nearby stores.
When I came back Taylor took the time
to answer all the questions I had and even let me go through the clothes once more before heading them over for sales. Taylor, I hope the dress I sold works out for you!! 🤞🏼
Will definitely come back next year for my next spring cleaning!!
I was referred to the Dulles location by the Fairfax location.

Not sure why some people are salty on here, but my experience has been nothing but great. The staff is always super kind and helpful whenever I have questions or I’m hunting for something specific. And honestly… I don’t know how, but every single time I go in I end up finding something I have to take home. The selection is always on point!

This is my second time coming to this store, and both experiences have been absolutely awful. The first time, they told me they stop accepting clothes at 6 PM, so I left without being able to sell anything. Fine. But the second time, I made a real effort — took an Uber, came all the way from DC, and arrived a little after 4 PM, only to be told they’re not accepting clothes anymore. It was just after 4 PM! That’s still super early.
I explained my situation — that I traveled far and couldn’t come back the next day — and they just didn’t care. Their excuse? “The buyer left early.” That’s it. No apology. No offer to help. Just a shrug and a “too bad” attitude.
This is honestly the worst store I’ve ever been to. The staff is rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. I’ve wasted two trips trying to sell clothes here and got nothing but frustration. Don’t waste your time — there are way better, more professional places out there. This one is not worth it.

Very frustrating experience I called ahead of time to make sure that they were paying for items today I arrived at 5:26 PM checked in my items strolled around the store for about 20 minutes. Went out about 5:45 PM. Made a phone call. I was monitoring the status of the queue. The entire time status was in queue waiting to be looked at and then immediately at 6:01 sorry we cannot make an offer for your items. I had a basket full of very nice jackets men’s clothes men’s pants some stuff not even worn unfortunately I had a sweater on the top. That was almost new, but had a small sharpie spot that I didn’t see because it was a navy sweater as well as I had a bag with several brand new pairs of shoes, brand new pair of hiking boots, brand, new flip-flops, brand, new hat, brand, new ravens jacket, and was told they cannot make an offer on any of my items because they said that the items were staying, but they obviously did not even go through the items. The items were exactly how I had stacked them not have been misplaced, except for the top two jackets of the pile they did not even go through the bag with the shoes wasted my time 40 minutes driving 40 minutes waiting and now 40 minutes driving home and didn’t even look at my stuff. Why do you guys even offer the service if you guys are going to treat customers like that and just check out at 6 PM why not say if you’re gonna stop at 6 PM say last check in at 5 PM or whatever time it’s not right to be playing with people’s time like that especially if they’re depending on small amount of Money for selling their clothes and they have to waste their gas in time to make that effort. You state the clothes have an odor which I can attest that they do not I did mention the stain I overlooked on the top jacket and that’s the extent of what you looked. Sad to see make excuses you were out the door before 6pm you just didn’t want to look at any more orders I was literally outside the building in my car for about 10 min I had two bags one with shoes almost brand new you didn’t even move the hat to see them. Keep it up your reviews show the truth

I am a frequent shopper of Plato's Closet at this location and have had nothing but an amazing experience. I have bought a number of items in new or like new condition and have been very happy with the prices. This is a business. They cannot buy your items if they can't make money on selling them. They have a guide they must follow. If you don't have what they need or require or their racks are full, they can't buy your items. They won't buy items that are dirty or worn out. They cater towards and teens and young adults and the clothing and price points that will appeal to that audience. I know they won't be a lot of my clothing because it isn't geared to this audience so I don't even bother bringing it in. To the reviewer who stated that she brought in many high-end brands like Shein, Forever 21, H&M, those are not high-end brands. That's fast fashion which is trendy, low-cost clothing that is often obsolete in a short period of time. Just because you bought it at a certain price, doesn't mean it's salable after you wore it for a season. If they can't sell it, unfortunately they can't buy it from you.
