No wonder this place gets so many 1 star reviews for vehicle inspection! Absolute rip off. They failed my car and wanted to charge me $1400 for work on my tire rod and ball joints because they were “loose” when my car is only 4 years old and has only 30,000 miles on it. As the rep was explaining this to me he was emphasizing how dangerous it would be if I did not get the work done. Took my car to a reputable place right after and it passed with no issues. Unbelievable - never go here alone as a woman they will assume you’re dumb and overcharge you.

Dishonest and Untrustworthy — They Charged Me for Work They Didn’t Do
I took my car to Virginia Tire & Auto yesterday for a simple oil change, engine air filter, and cabin filter replacement. When I got home and checked the engine filter myself, it was the exact same dirty filter — nothing had been changed. They still charged me for all the work as if everything was done.
That’s pure dishonesty. If I hadn’t checked, I’d never have known. Now I have no idea if they even changed the oil or oil filter, since I can’t easily verify that part.
I trusted this place, but clearly they’re either careless or intentionally charging people for work they don’t perform. Either way, it’s completely unacceptable. I’ll never come back here again and I’d warn anyone reading this — check their work before you drive off.
Do you want me to make it more emotional and aggressive (to really sting), or more factual and professional (to sound like a complaint that might get management attention or refund)?

I used to come to this place for years for my car and motorcycle inspections. Literally all my vehicles got inspected here with very rare exceptions, because I live nearby. I'm local. Last year I purchased an older car, which passed inspection last year in flying colors. I drove maybe 6000 miles mostly highway mostly to my church and back, no commuting or something like that. Didn't see any issues with my car. About two weeks ago I went for a due VA Safety Inspection and it failed, I get it... It's an older car, things might break. So they discovered that both lower control arms bushings were cracked and there was an exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold. They quoted the parts and the labor at ~$3200 see the screenshot attached. $850 to swap 2 lower control arms? It takes 30 minutes for each. $387 for a control arm? I can order them online for $250 pair. Exhaust manifold for $947? How about $103 for the exhaust manifold at Amazon? Man, I wasn't born yesterday. I definitely thought this was a rip off. I went to another inspection station, where they confirmed that only the exhaust leak was the problem, and control arms bushings were fine for another year or so. Now, I bought the exhaust manifold at Amazon and the whole thing plus oil change and tire rotation + inspection costed me $350 total at another shop. Now go figure if you want to get your car to the place like this even for VA Inspection. They'll fail you just to get in your pocket.

As a loyal customer always went there, purchased 8 tires from them just last year by spending thousands of dollars. Went in today for an inspection and to repair a simple nail hole. They were quick on the inspection but patching the nail hole never happened. Waited literally over 4 hours and left very disappointed. Never going back there ever again. Done …

I got a flat tire so my car was towed by AAA to VA Tire and Auto well after they were closed (around 7:30). Richard still came out to help us and get all of our information. He was helpful and so generous to assist well after the day had ended.

Avoid this shop
The service employees are overworked
Dropped off a tire at 7 AM to get a plug, Usually a 10 minute job. I returned at 2 PM and one of the employees was kind enough to let me know I was actually scheduled for 3 PM. He was courteous, and promised the work would get done immediately and apologized for the long wait.
I returned at 4:30 to pick up my tire and no one had touched it.
What else can I say? Seems they can't keep up with their own business. I wouldn't want to work there that's for sure.

Charged me 1200$ for roters and calipers for rear tires for my car now i have problem with front driver side wheel is not moving .. the worst service ever in my life .. i paid 1200$ for nothing .. now i have to tow my car

Poor Customer Service, Unable to keep appointment time, disrespectful. As much as I prefer to support local business, if you want to keep your in good condition, stay far, far away. This location routinely over-books and then keeps your car for far longer than you would expect. As much as I appreciate their portal and inventory, this location is unable to keep appointments and, even worse, doesn’t care.

If I could give a zero for the customer service I received at this place I would have given it.I went to the front counter and told the guy that I’m here to get my car Reinspected because it needed to lightbulb. He said OK someone will be with you in a few moments the guy never asked my name never asked what kind of car I had. He just told me to move my car to the side, meanwhile More customers came in he begin to take them continually ignore me never asked for my name nor the car I drive. I was there 35 to 40 minutes. My car was parked on the left side. the mechanic came out named Mike said this your car. I see you’re waiting here. where is your ticket? I told Mike the guy never gave me one and he did not ask my name. Mike said I would take care of this. It took like three minutes to get me out of there after 35 or 40 minute wait I will never go to this place again.
