Sierra was not a great choice. I had a coloring service done and basically i lost a lot of my healthy hair due to over processing. I know the lifting can be hard for someone inexperienced but it was enough that i wanted to walk out. I am new to the area so I didn't say anything at the time, but I was very upset. Then my haircut was probably the worst I've had in years. I want to help other new residents not waste time or money going to this "hairstylist". I'm a military wife and dont get to leave the house much :/ Hopefully this helps the next person!

First time there today. Great experience with Bethany! She covered all my grays, listened to my needs, and styled it well. She was patient while I pulled up pictures and very nice. Will go more multidimensional next visit but very pleased:)! It's more than I'm used to paying but definitely less than other salons!! I have booked my next visit already!

The stylist was running 30 minutes behind, expected me to wait, and didn’t have the courtesy to let me know beforehand. I couldn’t rearrange my day and had to leave. Now I have received a message saying I booked a different service on March 6... I didn’t make that appointment, and it is not a service I utilize. Each stylist at this salon handles their own booking, which is a huge negative. They need a central administrator to keep them on task! I cannot in good conscience recommend this salon.

Love love love this cute studio with bunch of talented stylists making women look their best! I recently moved to VA and I was so hesitant about trying this place. I think my search is done! Sierra is the best! She is super understanding and friendly. The entire process was smooth and she made sure my hair was looking great before I left the salon.

Coastal Styling is the best salon in the 757. I see Lauren,she has been doing my hair for the past 8 years. Lauren is so much fun, has mad hair talent and will tell you if your idea is crazy. She is honest and she will make you look and feel like a million bucks. All the girls in the salon are so friendly, kind and talented. I won't go anywhere else! Try them out, you won't be sorry!!

Sierra is the best! I recently moved to Virginia and was a little hesitant about finding a new stylist but Sierra made me feel comfortable and did a fantastic job to say the least. I would definitely recommend her and this salon to everyone.

Lauren Hiles has been coloring, cutting and giving me Brazilian blowouts for years. She is the best, her bayalage and color techniques demonstrate her talent and gifts for styling and love of color. Her prices are competitive, the salon is perfectly sized so you get the best personalized care possible. It's decor is fresh...modern beachy with a touch of class and glam. You have to see it. I love the ease of booking my appointments through vagaro.com. The salon stays current with latest techniques and styles, they offer continuing education classes for other stylists. Having a stylist that stays on top of trends and further educating themselves and others is important. If I ever decide to add extensions or a Halo I know Lauren will have the current knowledge and product experience to meet whatever my hair needs and desires. Thanks ladies for a lovely salon experience. I have also had Courtney and Lydia do my hair when Lauren has not been available to fit me in. Having another stylist to trust when your regular stylist is not available is intimidating, but when you have a great team like Coastal, getting a last minute hair appointment is reassuring here, you know that your in good hands with whatever stylist is available. For example; I had a last minute charity ball and needed a style and glaze. Courtney was available and my reservations of a new person glazing my hair would have been nerve wracking in another salon, but not here. Your color formula is saved and Lauren filled in the other stylist what I like and what she uses on my hair. They are a team supporting one another. Ladies, you know how huge that is! Having Taste below is an added luxury for the ultimate pamper day, I felt spoiled as Lauren went and picked up my salad that I ordered while I sat under the dryer. (Maybe I shouldn't add that) but hey, it shows how she truly wants you sit back relax and enjoy your salon experience. My hubby just read my review and joked that it sounds like I am being paid to write this, hah, not even, but when we ladies love or even dislike something we tend to share with others our findings. When I moved to Suffolk the hardest thing was finding a decent salon and a standout stylist. I found that in Lauren Hiles after a year of salon hopping and stylist searching in the Hampton Roads area. Lauren and Lydia recently opened Coastal Styling, Their passion for hair and their love for their clients is what makes me a devoted client and Yelp "gusher".
