The Truitt House is a beautiful and historically significant bed-and-breakfast in Suffolk. The architecture is incredible, breathtaking, and amazing both inside and out, representing a piece of the area's history. The owner is a wonderful, warm, and welcoming hostess and a fabulous chef, providing over-the-top delicious breakfasts and multi-course dinners. Guests describe an amazing experience staying in rooms with comfortable beds, awesome bathrooms, and amazing showers. The house features a welcoming library, many places to sit and relax, and is within walking distance of local restaurants, shops, and the historic district. The occasional train whistles create a serene background. It is a gem that provides a memorable and great experience, with many guests planning to return.
Incredible architecture inside and out. House was sold at auction a few months back. Went to an open house they had just to see it. Glad I did! It is a private house as far as I know right now. Used to be a type of b and b

Ruth was a wonderful host! Her breakfast was over the top delicious and the Truitt House is absolutely beautiful! My husband and I stayed there overnight on our way to VA Beach. It was only a 50 minute drive to our destination. Such a great experience!

Ruth is a wonderful hostess. The shower was amazing, bed comfy, library welcoming. Nice selection of coffee/tea. Many places to sit and relax.Many places were closed on Monday, but we did walk across the street to the Historical Society and learn a bit more about the area and other gorgeous houses.
