I broke my hip and was transported to CTCH for X-rays before going to Carilion Roanoke Memorial for a total hip replacement. Everyone at the Tazewell Hospital was excellent! I was treated professionally and I could tell how much they really cared. However I did have a problem. I was in the ER on those stretchers they use for almost 10 hours before transportation was arranged to get me to Roanoke. The ER had no pillows! I knew there was only so much they could do for my pain until a treatment plan was formed but lying there for that long without a pillow was miserable! My back and neck were killing me! I was given a towel or blanket to roll up and put under my head, that didn’t really help. The staff explained that they were given an allotment of pillows and when they ran out they had to wait for the next allotment. Surely someone from Carilion can do a better job and come up with a simple solution so that this doesn’t happen again!

Took my 2 year old here for a fever of 102 and him acting lethargic. The doctor told us lethargic meant unconscious which it doesn’t anyone can google lethargic means laying down a lot not interested in daily task feeling sick and anyways they said he had a viral infection and he was okay send him home with rest …… we followed up with our pediatrician and he was diagnosed with Hand, foot and mouth disease and strep throat …. This hospital totally missed what was wrong with my son . I do not like the tall darker doctor that is in the er he is very rude and does not diagnose properly

I just want to thank the staff for being so professional, kind, and accommodating during my er visit this last week. Everyone, from admissions through the discharge nurse, were top notch including the doctor, the nurses, radiologists, lab techs, ekg techs, and admissions. Thanks again!

Very disappointed. My daughter went to the ER here midday yesterday with severe kidney pain. When she made it to Triage, they gave her a cup to use the restroom. She knocked on the only ER restroom door, no answer, and opened the door to find a male employee sitting on the toilet (not using it) watching videos on his phone. She tells him why she's there and he tells her to "shut the d*** door." She explains to the nurses what happened and they said "you'll just have to wait until it's free." It's occupied for hours and she asks several times for help. They just keep saying "oh you're next" but continue to see other patients with minor cases instead of her. She leaves, goes to Richlands hospital and receives excellent care.

I took my son to the ER here a couple of weeks ago and he was having really bad asthma attack and on top of that running a high fever. And the woman that checks you in looked at me and said oh there will be 3 people ahead of him you might just want to go home. So I said I'll take him to Richlands than. She said oh they probably full too and that it was to far and late. So I took him home got his fever okay. But took him to the doctor the next day he was still having a asthma attack due to having Strep throat.

My wife was pretty sick, the ER was so nice and helpful. When they admitted her the nurses, PA's and doctors were helpful and caring. I was so nervous because I'm usually the sick one and they explained everything that was going on to help my wife. So thankful for everyone there.

Doesn’t even deserve one star. Nurses admitted they couldn’t help my step father at their facility and Dr lied about trying to get him transferred. Only tried Roanoke, another Carilion hospital. Claimed he tried everywhere in the area and said all beds were full. It’s about the money, never about caring for patients. Keep the $$$ in Carilion pockets. This hospital and staff isn’t worth the land it occupies or the money they’re paid. Save yourself or your loved one and go elsewhere.

If you go to this hospital in the daytime be prepared to waste HOURS in your room without any nurse or doctor checking on you. This hospital is absolutely the worst healthcare service in the Tazewell County area. Do yourself a favor and drive a little extra to any of the surrounding hospitals or healthcare facilities for prompt care.

Won't even give a star at all this place is rediculous. Will send you back to work or school around people in 10 days but the Drs there won't see you for 21 even if there is more wrong with you than covid. I just don't understand how they can do that to someone. Well I have to give at least one star to post.

My friend was very sick, unable to walk unable to eat, difficulty breathing and was suffering from Covid pneumonia which he previously had but tested negative before we arrived at 6:30 PM Monday night. We drove from Richlands to your facility. Upon arrival the greeter saw how weak he was and immediately got him a wheelchair. She was very kind and asked many necessary questions. She helped us to Registration and the rep not only registered us quickly but was non judgmental. By that I mean he did not have private insurance. She got us into the ER very quickly. While in the ER he had many tests taken, fluids administered, and was seen by two physicians going over the results of the test findings. When discharged at 2:30 AM this morning the staff was just as kind as when we initially arrived. Because of HIPAA I cannot discuss his medical issues but he was given direction to follow up with the appropriate physician. I had to come back today to get his medical records. I brought the proper documentation to obtain the records and the medical records rep was also kind and helpful. I am writing this review because this is a hospital that cares and this is reflected by the staff. In this day and age it’s so refreshing to be treated like a human being who needs assistance. Administration should be very proud of this kind caring staff. God bless you all
