Great Meadow Foundation is a spacious 374-acre equestrian park in Virginia, established in 1984 as a non-profit organization. Originally created to host the Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase, it now hosts a variety of events that attract around 200,000 visitors annually. These include steeplechase races, polo matches, show jumping, foot races, rocketry launches, cultural fairs, and fireworks displays. The park features a well-maintained, large property with a world-class arena completed in 2016 after doubling its size. Visitors can enjoy the location for different activities, such as cross country meets, Twilight Polo, and model rocket launches, often praising the good parking and scenic setting. The facility is conveniently located near highways, offering ample parking and a cooler climate compared to nearby cities. It is also known for its beautiful landscape and dog-friendly policies, with leashes required and event-dependent restrictions. Overall, Great Meadow is a versatile venue suitable for a wide range of outdoor events and activities.
Although the rain dampened the arena, the crowd was happy with the outcome. The stick and ball showcase, by the pro players, was a hit!

Went here as a spectator for a cross country meet and it was a great location. Short distance from the highway, plenty of parking, and good course for the runners. The facility appeared well-maintained. No comments from an equestrian perspective since my visit was completely unrelated.

Went out for Twilight Polo. 5 minutes off the highway, $25 parking fee gets anyone in the car in. Matches start at 6:30 and go till 10 ish. Lots of parking in a nearby field, bring food, drink and chairs. They have races, and other events, huge property, typically cooler than DC and usually catch a little breeze.
