Since I assume the cost of Veterinary care is expensive across the board, I am pleased with their service and will continue to keep them as the vets for my dogs.”

“My dog loves the staff here more than he loves me lol. He comes by to say hi almost every day on his walks. He had some hip issues and major anxiety when we first moved to the area and after following the guidance of the staff he’s like a puppy again at 4 years old. Increased energy, no longer limping after jumping/running or long walks, not nearly as anxious. The staff here are friendly polite and professional, amazed at what one year of care here has done for my dog. Highly recommend this business!”
“When I moved to NOVA in 2014, I went to VCA Woodbridge out of convenience since it was so close to where I lived. I immediately knew without a doubt that Dr. Shackelford was going to be our vet going forward. She has been with us through the loss of two of our dogs due to age and even sat with us on the floor, crying and comforting us when we lost one of our beloved hounds. We have moved out of the Woodbridge area but that hasn't stopped us from making the drive so that our pups get the best care and attention not only from Dr. Shackelford but from the rest of the incredible staff at this location.We always feel like we have her undivided attention, she listens to our concerns, answers our questions and gives us her honest advice and opinions. When we have needed referrals she has provided great recommendations. We would follow her anywhere in the DMV if it meant we were able to ensure our dogs were able to receive their care from her.”

“The grooming department is excellent. I have never disliked a hair cut my dog has gotten here. Kathy is super friendly and tries to get to know your dog. As far as Veterinary care, it's great, but seems a bit expensive to me compared to some other places. I toured the boarding facility today and I will just say I highly recommend taking a tour of ANY boarding facility prior to leaving your dog overnight. While the employee who gave the tour could not have been more friendly and knowledgeable, this is not a place I would board my dog based on the look and feel of the boarding facilities. It was not bright, cheery, happy, or fun looking whatsoever. The opposite.”
“I took my dog in for an ear check. It was an ear infection, Dr Murphy managed it quickly and efficiently. My follow up instructions were clear and I especially like the follow up email and app instructions. Clinic staff is always pleasant and helpful as well.”
“This place has Dog Loving, and Compassionate Staff Members. When my dog Passed away, they were VERY KIND, and Caring about my feelings. I wasn't just another person who's dog died, and they will update their computer about my loss. That's what my last Vet Did. We got a new puppy, and decided to change over to this new Veterinarians office, and this place Truly Cares about my Dogs health. They are VERY knowledgeable, and helpful. They gave me some great ideas about my puppies behavior issues, and you can really Feel the Love of the Staff. I got my Pups set of shots, and their prices are Better than other vet offices. I will definitely continue to bring my dog to this place, and I Highly Recommend them for your pet Needs. Fantastic Customer Service, Prices, and just flat out Caring Staff.”

“We've been taking our dogs here since 2023 and they've done nothing but take great care of them. The vet techs are always friendly and the doctors show so much care. I've only had a few issues with the front desk and some of them not scheduling appointments properly, specifically for my dogs who require the chill protocol and requiring certain medications for appointments. Other than that, I have no issues and definitely recommend this office if you're looking for a quality veterinarian and safe place for your pets.”
“River Oaks is the absolutely best Vet office I have ever used. After 40 years of having pets I always left the Vets office feeling like they were more concerned building my bill than my animals. When I got Daisy a year ago I was determined to find a small practice with a common sense old fashion Doctor. I am delighted to say that's exactly what I found with Dr. Scott Mckorkindale and is fabulous staff.
I brought Daisy in for her first physical, later had her spayed. Today I brought her in her shots and flee, tick and heart worm prevention. Not only was I not charged for a office visit Dr. Mckorkindale shaved and cleaned around her eyes.
Every time we leave the office my husband, I and Daisy are thrilled with the experience we had!”

“This is THE veterinary hospital you take your pets to if you want timely/effective care managed by compassionate people.
We called in last minute on a Friday before closing as a Hail Mary attempt to get an ultrasound for our cat for some issues. All of the phone calls with Michelle showed me she genuinely cared and was set on helping us even if it meant staying long after closing.
Dr. Tran gave us honest and knowledgeable advice before we even arrived and seemed intent on providing us info we needed, even if it meant going with a different clinic.
Upon arrival, we had an incredibly warm welcome from Michelle. As Dr. Tran diagnosed our cat's issues, she and Michelle kept us informed and enabled us to fully understand the potential treatments, why they were necessary, and an estimated range for the cost.
Without coverage, the costs were reasonable and what we would expect from most reputable clinics in the area. I highly recommend going here for your pets.”
