“Found most of what I was looking for. Still a bit disorganized but watching some of the other shoppers I can understand why. Checkout was easy and cashier was pleasant and friendly.”
“No long lines, open isles no crowding. In and out service! A small rearrangement of the shelving has been done. Give the store a new look and seems to have more items!”
“The people who work at this location are great, super friendly every single time I’m there. The only issue I have with this location, the shelves aren’t kept stocked and they don’t have many frozen food options.Other than stocking issues, it’s a great store when you need something fast.”
“This DG is always a little cramped for space but you cant beat the prices, especially the dollar item isle. As far as the employees....some are very friendly and helpful and just like anywhere else you got those that just dont care about the customer. Sadly I got THAT person...lol. moved on. Haha”
“I was just in this dollar general about an hour ago, I was so nervous as this was my first time in a store since October because I had developed agoraphobia. Valerie (Val) didn’t even know but treated me with so much kindness, it’s very clear she cares for her customers and her job. I’ve never had such a good experience in a dollar general. She deserves a raise! AND a promotion 100/10 service”
“Happened across these reviews today, and felt I should give a counterpoint to the odd complaints I see here.
In reading other reviews, some are quite mean. This would be hilarious, if it weren't frequently irrational, and other people didn't use reviews to inform their shopping decisions.
Here's the truth of the DG in Weyers Cave, from someone who averages around one stop per week, as it's quite convenient to my home. Given Weyers Cave has essentially zero retail presence other than DG, I DO NOT want to see this store disappear, especially due to trivial reviews that often miss the mark.
Are the coolers sometimes broken? Yep. This can happen anywhere, but I recognize these coolers were down a long time a while back. In talking with employees (asking, not complaining), they were at the mercy of the repair company. Stuff happens, and people shouldn't be so precious.
Should one go into a dollar store, expecting a personal guide to show them where everything is located? No. This store is not that large, and therefore looking around to see if they have what you want is not difficult. If you want a personal shopper, go elsewhere, and be prepared to pay the additional price baked into goods, in order to pay additional staff. This is a convenience store, not Saks Fifth Avenue.
Are there lines to check out, every now and again? Sure. But, the staff is always clearly trying to complete transactions as quickly as they can, and get people on their way. If there is a delay, the vast majority of the time it's due to someone asking a question about inventory, and disregarding the employee's stress, and the customers who just walked around and found their own goods, and are now waiting to check out.
This is a good store, the employees do a great job working with limited resources, and I've personally witnessed them having to deal with myriad complaints, 99% of which are simply due to an unreasonable customer, with unreasonable expectations.”
“This store has been in the area a long time. The inventory includes crafts, home decorations, a limited electronics section, toiletry and first aid items and cleaning supplies. There are occasional finds in the frozen section. It might be "The 1.25" store now but you can still find great deals (especially bleach, tissues and plastic storage containers).”
“Always find great bargains @ the Waynesboro, Ba store. Everyone is friendly. I got a lot of supplies to finish wreaths I’m making for folks for Christmas as well as ribbon for making my bows. I’m back today to grab stocking stuffers for those on my list.”
“As always I was in a rush and asked the cashier, Halyana,(made sure I looked at my receipt so she gets credit for this)where the distilled water was located. She gave me detailed instructions in a most pleasant voice and I found it immediately. She made sure I was ready to check out before walking away from the register and was VERY cheerful and courteous throughout my transaction! This young lady deserves a raise ASAP!”
