I am not one to typically write reviews, but I do want to take the time to share my cat’s and my experience with the Animal Dental Clinic in Vienna, VA. From start to finish - arranging the appointment, coming in for a consult, major dental surgery (extraction of all teeth, which my referring veterinarian indicated would not be a surprise), the dental procedure itself, the follow-up, and the many communications and phone calls - Dr Hall and the staff have demonstrated both professionalism and expertise but have also been warm and compassionate, have invited and encouraged questions, have responded in a timely manner to my many phone calls, have extended walk-in hours for me to bring him in for extra follow-up visits … I could go on and on.I will say that the days following the surgery were tough. Of course they were – can you imagine waking up with no teeth? It took a lot of coaxing and trying many different things (with the help and advice of Dr. Hall and staff) to get him interested in food … but now, just 2 weeks post-op, he’s healing well, eating, and back to his playful self. I know I’m anthropomorphizing, but I think he’ll soon forget he ever had teeth! And he’s no longer in pain with dental disease. Thanks so much, Dr. Hall and staff, for the good work you do with our beloved furry companions.

DO NOT GO TO DR HALL. Our cat had a similar experience to Rachel Karp. We are lucky our cat is still with us.

I am writing this review from an experience with Dr. Hall that still bothers me to this day. Years ago our bengal cat had stopped eating. Our regular vet thought it may be dental related and referred us to Dr. Hall. We took our cat to Dr. Hall and she was put under anesthesia and afterwards Dr. Hall informed us Shamrocks dental exam was normal and that Shamrock's problem of not eating was not due to any dental problems but was due to something else. During the procedure Dr. Hall removed all her bottom incisors - the tiny teeth in a cat's mouth - even though there was nothing wrong with them. It was like he was practicing tooth extractions. We were very upset healthy teeth had been removed and our cat was put through that. Afterwards we took Shamrock to Hope Veterinary and an internist there found Shamrock had stomach cancer and that was why she had stopped eating. I will NEVER take a pet to Dr. Hall. This review is my opinion. I have only written two negative reviews in my 67 years and this is one of them.

We brought our dog here for extensive dental work and couldn't have been happier. The dentist and staff were compassionate, patient, and knowledgeable. We were informed every step of the way and options were discussed. Even though I live more than an hour from this office, I will continue to bring my dog here because the excellent care is worth it. 10/10, would recommend.

If I could give negative stars I would. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. My dog underwent surgery on SEP 12 for an oral fistula. Two days later the stitches came undone. The doctor and his team stated they could repair her oral fistula stitches in Oct for an additional ~$1,900. On OCT 2, my dog had the second surgery. The next day we rushed her to the ER after she was hardly breathing and moving. She died on OCT 3. Please do your research before coming here. I hardly ever write reviews on businesses but feel so strongly that I needed to provide honest feedback on my experience with this organization. After submitting my post, the office manager sent my wife and I an email and requested that we remove our review, or they will pursue legal action. In my opinion, if you can accept good reviews, then you should be able to accept negative reviews for poor service. I believe in freedom of speech and will not be silenced! We love you Armani #justiceforArmani

I wish I would have never chosen this Clinic. The staff was very disrespectful to my wife and the Veterinarian was no help at all. Our dog had a very serious condition and we knew it would be very costly, and he treated us like we would not be able to afford it before even discussing alternative options. I don’t understand how Dr. Hall can call himself a trusted professional when he doesn’t take his patients best interests into consideration. All of the negative reviews on this page confirm that you should take your business elsewhere

Do not take your pet here. Dr Hall is more interested in making money than actually taking care of his patients. He is condescending, rude and uncaring. He would rather place blame on the patient and their family than take ownership of his work. His staff can make excuses for him all they want but, the bottom line is he is the worst vet ever. Please if you love your pets take them somewhere else.

Great staff, up front. Professions at what they do. It does come with a high price tag. But unlike other practices they were available immediately. You get what you pay for. My toothless dog is healthy and happy.

Early in 2022 my vet let me know after my dogs cleaning that it may be best for her next visit to see a Vet that specializes in dental care. I did some research and in December of 2022 I brought my 10-year-old pug Lucy to Animal Dental Clinic to see Dr. Hall. I elected for the consultation and procedure since I had a pretty good idea, she would need some sort of work done.Dr. Hall came in to evaluate Lucy and I have to say I was so impressed that he just got on the floor with her and played with her while talking to me about her background. I found him doing this versus coming in and sweeping her up onto the examining table really made a difference for her.Dr. Hall then took her back and did general consultation and he and his staff went through and explained what was happening with each tooth in her mouth and their suggestions for treatment. What I appreciated here was there was no shaming on if I had come to us sooner some things would not be an issue and that they took into consideration the amount of work she would need and cost. Talking through options and if we could do some of her treatment now and more down the line. They put no pressure or guilt on me at all.I elected to have one procedure and have all of her teeth removed. I chose to do this because some of her teeth needed to come out now and the others would need to come out down the line so I felt it was best to a one and done now versus this being a back-and-forth thing and taking into consideration her breed and age the idea of a few surgeries and recovery may not be best.Well then, the fun began and Lucy’s extractions turned into more extensive work. Dr. Hall and his staff called me all through surgery when there a choice to be made or if the original plan was changing. Again, through her procedure there was no pressure or guilt on what they feel should be done. They provided me the options and pros and cons of them and let me come to the determination I felt was best. After Lucy’s surgery Cristal took the time to go through her treatment plan, how to do home care, how to give Lucy her medicine, what to look for and be concerned about. She took time to provide some suggestions for helping Lucy if she was difficult in getting her medicine and such. She truly made it clear if I had questions or concerns call anytime and leave a message. Two days after surgery Lucy was doing well all things considered but I noticed she started to have a bad smell on her mouth. I called during a holiday weekend and the office was closed and left a message. They called back within and hour and let me know they would like to see her sooner and we were back in the office on Monday on a holiday. The best way I can explain what happened is some of the work that was done did not hold and sutures broke. This can be common with the breed and due to the extensive work that was done. What we chose to do what is called secondary intention healing which means the wound will be left open (rather than being stitched together) and left to heal by itself, filling in and closing up naturally. This was less invasive and would require weekly appointments to see if things were doing better. This would a be slow process of healing. For about a month the office would call daily and check in and I would bring Lucy in for an in person check in weekly or bi-weekly as Dr. Hall felt was best. After a little over a month Lucy is doing fantastic. She is all healed up, her energy is higher than it was pre-surgery. I have also noticed that she no longer has yucky eye discharge and she no longer has what I thought was seasonal coughing and sneezing.I highly recommend Dr. Hall and his staff. I wish I had known there were vets that their primary specialty is dental care in animals. I will take Dr. Hall’s advice and with any pet in the future bring them in sooner so they can get ahead of some of these large issues or to preventative care starting as a puppy.*Picture attached is her last appointment. Looking gray but all healed up.

I had a similar experience when we took our cat in for a simple dental procedure. Received a call from their office pushing for several extra things to be done. We had no issue with the expense but the aggressive nature of the office staff and lack of transparency was very concerning. Not much we could do cat was already under. Our cat has many issues now after the procedure and this is what is the most concerning part for our family. Stay away. Hesitated posting but saw another review and prompted me to act as well. Do yourself a favor chose another vet dental clinic.

My 11 year old dog had an abscess high in his gum line that actually was causing an infection in his body to present as rashes. The vet I had been taking him to (on a military base) did not do dental work. Dr. Hall was the first place that would take him so of course I took him there. I asked how much a tooth removal costs and the answer I got was that there is a range between $1200 and $2000.... Okay, that seemed to be in the average range when I checked around. The first thing the doc says to me after an initial exam is the tooth is not cracked so it is probably cancer... What??? He said, "What else would cause this?" So now I am a little freaked out, but he says he going to send samples away for testing so we will find out in few days. Dr. Hall was quick to put down other places ...he was quite haughty.I also ask him to skip the cleaning because he had just had his teeth cleaned about 4 months prior and since it wasn't necessary, I would like to cut some costs. Needless to say I pick my dog up later that day and the bill is $3,361.00!!!!And at that point I was stuck!!!! They didn't call to ask me if they should add all these extra expenses ... Ughhh. His eye had a lot of drainage when I picked him up, no one made note... Just said it was normal. Then it kept getting worse. He had never had drainage before the surgery. I called the office and they said it had nothing to do with the surgery. Really??? Because he was fine before and hasn't even played because the stitches needed time to heal. So I look up information and figured it out myself : His face was swollen from the surgery and was pressing on the tear duct... Dr. Hall wanted me to spend more $$ to go to a doggie eye doctor he knew. I felt scammed by the whole process. My dog is now fine, but this place made a somewhat stressful experience into a very stressful, very expensive experience.

I took my senior dog to Dr. Hall in 2020 and still traumatized by how he and his staff took advantage and pulled most of my dog's teeth without my permission. I thought she had a tooth infection, but it was something much more serious that had nothing to do with her teeth. My poor girl had to suffer needlessly and died 3 months later of lymphoma. Dr. Hall felt the lumps in her throat and had a concerned look on his face, but ignored the lumps and was only focused on extractions. They then charged me over $4000. Please do not take your dogs to this clinic. They are only after your money.

We took our 15-year-old little dog here and they took great care of her. She was under anesthesia for several hours but did fine, and the staff went through all the after-surgery instructions very thoroughly with us right afterwards. They're very responsive to calls and voice mails, and the follow-up visits are all walk-ins, so you can even go in earlier than scheduled.

Beware of this dental clinic. The office manager is unprofessional. But most of all they extracted so many of my dogs teeth that was unnecessary and called gave me an estimate while my dog was already under anesthesia. BEWARE they had a dog die on them a few years ago as well. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere do your research for a better Dental vet. My dog has a permanent issue now with her tongue constantly hanging out. Beyond distressed. I hope this helps other pet owners before they use this animal dental clinic.

Wow. Where to begin! Everybody who works at this office - every single person - was extremely kind, friendly, patient, courteous, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I cannot stress enough how wonderful my experience was. Don't be discouraged by any negative reviews, because the team here is truly phenomenal. I looked at several different dental clinics in the area, and I am so happy and thankful that I decided on this clinic. My cat and I were helped by Dr. Hall, Cristal, Stephanie, and Everly. They all care so much about their patients and it shows. They answered all of my questions, showed so much kindness to my cat (she loved everybody!), were flexible and accommodating, and taught me so many things! To make things even better, they went ABOVE and BEYOND for my kitty. To list specifics: they keep you informed every step of the way from when you schedule an appointment to the conclusion of their care. They provide a lot of learning materials and instructions. Everything (pricing, procedures, options for procedures, after-care, follow-up, etc.) was transparently presented and explained to me very clearly by Dr. Hall and the team. Dr. Hall is a great dentist, and his expertise was much more advanced compared to the other dentist I initially considered.A lot of people just simply do their job, but the team here truly goes above and beyond. My cat had a great time all thanks to their efforts. This practice is a testament to what can be achieved when people truly care. :) From Dr. Hall's charity work, to the kind courtesy check-in calls the team takes the time to make to you, so much care is put in the work that goes on in this clinic.Taking your fur babies to this clinic is an investment in their health and well being that will last a lifetime. Everybody on the team deserves a standing ovation!
