I recent bought and installed a latest Miele coffee machine, CVA-7840, just about two months old. It makes nice coffees. But, the good stops here. It is poor in quality, especially considering its price tag (at almost $6,000) and extremely high-maintenance. But the worst part is Miele’s customer support. Let me explain. The machine is extremely high-maintenance - and this is the least painful part of the experience. The machine keeps rinsing itself, every time you turn it on or shut it off. And, you cannot adjust how often it does it. The machine would turn itself off automatically after about 5 mins if you don’t make another cup and it will rinse. If you turn it back on right after, it will rinse again. I estimate that it uses at least 2/3 of the water in the tank rinsing and less than 1/3 making coffee. You have to keep adding fresh water and dumping the waste water all the time. That’s not enough. The machine has internal timers that will force you to perform major cleaning or descaling of different parts of the machine, every month or two for each. The entire machine will stop functioning if you don’t, no matter which part needs cleaning. You need 4 or 5 different types of chemicals or cleaning agents and Miele is the only place you can buy them from. They are not cheap either, unlike your dishwasher soaps. And, don’t press the cancel button. If you do, perhaps changing your mind right after a selection, the machine will continue to dispense and grind the coffee and dump promptly. It will not use it for your next cup of coffee. Now, the worse - poor quality. The machine was installed at the beginning of this year. From the start, the milk dispensing did not work. After days of contacting Miele, a local contractor showed up and he tried everything to no avail, until he disassembled the back-panel and found the problem. Two thin copper plates to connect the sensor circuit were not engaged and did not make the contact. The circuit never closes and milk container signal not sent. This is a simple step that was apparently missed in the final assembly of the machine and still passed the testing, if there’s one.As I just said, the machine performs mandatory cleaning on different parts on timers. After a little over a month of use, it decided to clean the milk pipework (with a special agent). However, it never completes the cleaning and goes right back to the beginning of the cycle and ask you to start again when it reaches to the last 2 mins of the 11-min cycle. The worst part is that this cleaning operation overwhelms the whole machine and stops everything else. The machine is in this deadlock loop and you cannot get rid of the menu or do anything else, not even getting to the main menu or setup. The machine is practically dead. The worst - Miele customer service.I called Miele customer services and talked to multiple agents. They talk to you from their given, standardized manuscripts. After much struggle they would schedule service calls from their Miele-certified local contractor and it would take two weeks before the contractor could come in. The first contracted service technician showed up and declared he does not service Miele coffee machines. In fact, he never saw a Miele coffee machine and never had training. (You wonder why he took the service call in the first place?)I called Miele again and they “escalated” the call with a promise that the next service technician would be a Miele technician, a Miele employee not a contractor. Days later, they called back to inform me that there’s no Miele’s own technicians in the Washington Metropolitan area and that they had to schedule another contractor. It would take another two weeks. I am still waiting. All in while the $6,000 Miele coffee machine is in coma and I cannot use it at all. I pulled out my near-10 years old Keurig coffee maker (cost me something like $50-100), which I’ve used at least 3 times a day and never cleaned, to sustain my daily coffee craving! For those of you who are thinking about these expensive Miele machines, be aware!

Do not waste your money!I have all our Kitchen appliances from Miele brand (refrigerator, Gas cooker, Dishwasher, Coffee machine) and Refrigerator is keep giving us issues time to time. Cooker also serviced one time during warranty period. I have purchased 5 years of ex tendered warranty but refrigerator had been breaking three times during first three years. Got it repaired under ex-tendered warranty after its been expired it's facing issues again. There is a defrosting issue, and circulation fan keep burning out. Miele forwarding to their area service provider. Diagnostic fee is $225 for each check up. The WORST part is if something breaks around the holidays you are screwed because no one else can repair these brands. A regular technicians like LG, Whirlpool, etc.. wont touch this brand. You have to get authorized dealer service and they do not have appointments available. I waited almost TWO weeks every time i called Happy home appliances (Autherized agent)I called Miele customer service to see if they can discount or provide parts to the repair. Unfortunately, customer service denied due to the expired warranty terms. They did not even worried about the report. All i was asking to discount or provide parts to the service company. These are not cheap brands (Refrigerator was $9k) and we have invested to get quality products and appliances to last longer then average brands in the market. I could have replaced three times a Kitchen Aid refrigerator for this one Miele refrigerator Price. We will look for other brands in our future needs.

This is about the store experience. The store is located in a high end shopping plaza-appropriate given the price point of the appliances. When we arrived two people were at the front desk. They looked up and never said a word. After waiting a few minutes, assuming they were busy with something, we wandered about the showroom. After 20 minutes I returned to the desk asking for help.We were shopping for whole house appliances and after reading Miele’s advertisements, comparing brands etc we thought this brand suited our needs. The service did not. The representative was aloof when not being dismissive. Our expectation was to have a more detailed explanation of the products. The reality was for us to know the questions to ask. We mistakenly thought this was a one off. It was not. This culture is prevalent with Miele dealers and service departments. In retrospect we should have spent a little more as people we know have had very different experiences with other brands. Being a privately held company, Miele has little accountability. Stockholders might see things differently and take objection to the negative experiences. Today’s consumers have to perform much more due diligence prior to purchasing.

Over engineered products they don’t stand behind. The poster child for ‘right to repair’.

Needed a vacuum cleaner and set my sights on a Miele. Edward was very polite and knowledgeable about the features. He walked me through all the important points and got me through checkout in less than twenty minutes. Absolutely love the vacuum.

We bought a home that had a kitchen remodel with ALL miehle products. Their so called top of the line dishwasher that should “last” 20 years had broke after just shy of 5 years!!! To repair we were charged a $225 diagnostic fee, to repair the water fill tank with part and labor was another $570!!! In total to make the dishwasher operational again we are looking at $800—unbelievable considering the problem is “something not usually seen this early in the life of the dishwasher” per the technician.Secondly, before purchasing ANY of their appliances be sure there is more than one option for someone to service it or you’re held hostage. We live in Northern Virginia where only ONE authorized company is recognized by Miehle.Highly suggest sticking to Wolf, Subzero, Bosch— they have issues too but their customer service supersedes Miehle ten fold.

We bought Miele appliances for our new kitchen, spent a lot of money, and really thought we were going to get a luxury experience. It was quite a contrary experience. Our gas range had burner and microwave issues all along with gas leaks and broken burners. Our second microwave needed repairs as well. Our gas range is now totally out of order. Washington Gas inspected the appliance and the gas line. The cooking range is leaking gas!!! All of this has happened within a period of 3 years with several calls and no good service from Miele. No help from the appliance store or Miele Tysons at all. Miele appliances, service, and repair all are deplorable!!!!We have bought several homes in the US and never did have any appliance issues in any of the kitchens before this. We should have stuck with the known brands in the US. What a poor customer experience...Don't buy Miele.

Thinking of getting anything Miele? Don't. Simply do not. Imagine purchasing a $3,800 microwave and oven (as well as all the other Miele kitchen appliances unfortunately). The microwave stops working. You call Miele service. They are the ONLY ones who repair Miele. I think they are the only ones who can get parts. Miele ports you to a subcontractor named Happy Home Appliance Repair, which schedules a repair - many weeks out. The evening before that blessed visit, Happy Home magically reschedules your repair for three weeks later by sending you an email. The day before the rescheduled visit (now six weeks without), they change the four hour window from morning to afternoon. If you ask, indeed beg, they offer to move it to the next week. For the love of all that is Holy, buy anything else. If you do have a Miele product, take a knee and pray it does not break.

Bought a Miele cordless vacuum. The vacuum works great, but the wall mount that came with the vacuum was missing the screws and instructions for wall mount. Called the store to ask if they could get me the missing screws (totaling all of .75 cents) so I could mount the vacuum. They told me to call customer service. Customer service won't give you the screws without paying 85 USD for the entire wall mount that I don't need. I asked the store rep if he could just get me the screws. He said no and I would need to contact customer service, which I already had. I told him I would be returning the $900 vacuum because they were unwilling to help me find a .75 cent part. That's apparently where they left me. Unbelievable crappy customer service. You would think you could expect more when you buy the most expensive brand on the market.

Called to enquire about purchasing their products. The store employee was clearly aggravated that I was asking about this, and rudely informed me to "go find a dealer." When I asked if they have any dealer locally to recommend, I was told to "go find one online."Apparently they want to make purchasing their own products as difficult as possible.

We bought a fridge and wine cellar a couple of years ago. The installation was very lousy. Parts were missing and their head quarter was incompetent to solve problems. We recently ordered few parts for the vacuum cleaner and we want to return one part, however we had to call, wait 30 minutes and a lot of hassle. Miele is a name in Europe and our experience with them in Asia was good. Her in US is a disaster. Try to avoid them. Anh
