Had a fantastic, short wait for my inspection today. Luis, the inspector, was very nice and made time for us even though they were closing. It was fairly and reasonably priced, me and my fiance had a good time waiting outside. The front desk worker was also very genuine and kind. Thank you Vienna Shell!

Charged almost 60 dollars for a simple tire plug. Last time I needed a tire plug it was $20. Will not come back to this place. Can’t imagine what the mark-up would be for more expensive services.
Edit: There was only one plug. I sent an email with the receipt to owner at their request. Have not yet heard back but will update review if I do.

I really like the emission and inspection services here. The mechanic and the receptionist are attentive to the needs of their customers, and the prices for the offered services are reasonable, which can be hard to find in the DMV area. Inspection has a quick turnaround time of 25-30 minutes, but they are really thorough with the services. They even helped fix my broken glove board. Also, definitely take advantage of the vacuum service from here.

They have signs showing inspections and other services open from 7AM to 7PM. But they are always closing early sometimes not open at all for the day. Dont trust the google hours for this store. Multiple times observed that the hours reported on google maps and their signs at the store are wrong

I routinely use this shop for my car and motorcycle inspections. They are quick, easy, and never try to up-sell you. If your car needs something to pass or they find something unsafe, they will let you know and have mechanics who can do the work on premises; but they never use it to oversell work... just honest assessments with your safety in mind.

? recommend Hassim and Chahel Automotive here at James Madison Shell. My car broke down tonight. I happened to pull over there when the warning lights came on and when I turned off the car, it would not restart. Hassim asked if I needed help. He helped me add engine oil, checked the transmission fluid, tried charging my battery. He even called Advanced Autoparts to arrange for me to go there for a new battery, but then we realized the charge wasn’t holding, so instead of doing that, I was able to leave my car there to be serviced. AND he provided a loaner car. I was so grateful Hassim and Chahel Automotive were right there when I needed them and that I wasn’t on the side of the road instead. I was safely back home within a reasonable amount of time. Hassim was helpful, calm, and friendly. Breaking down is no fun, but he made the experience much less frustrating. Thank you so very much. ? recommend.

Hassim. my Savior. I am in a borrowed car and the tire went flat on my way home. I pulled into the James Madison Shell and Hassim found a nail in the tire; immediately fixed the tire; filled the tire with air; and told me "all done". Who provides that type of service any more!!! And i've never been to this station before. HASSIM did this - this is an example of the type of service Hassim provides. Thank you Hassim.

I go here for inspections, mostly because it's conveniently on my way to work. They're typically quick, and the line isn't usually too long

Extremely helpful staff. Took care of a tire plug/patch in an emergency, extremely quickly. Be sure to ask for Hassim.
Also a fantastic and easy place to have inspections done! 5 stars.
