Whatever you do, don’t use them for a closet install. They scheduled my install months after ordering and 3 weeks after my original install timing. Got here only to find out that they hadn’t measure correctly. Promised me it would be 2-3 weeks to fix. It’s been a month. No one is responsive. I’m now left to protest the chargers. Awful awful awful.

Customer service in the front is lacking. I went to check out, there was basically no one in the store and when I set the container down, I noticed it was cracked. I said it out loud and the blonde lady just silently stared at me until I said “I guess I’ll go look if they have another…”. She didn’t say anything so I just decided to walk out, just didn’t feel like spending my money today at a place with bad customer service.
I’m leaving at least 2 stars because the African American lady with the mask was extremely kind and attentive in helping me find the container in the first place.

Great store overall. I was very excited for this new Container Store to open in Ashburn, I do have to say that it seems to be smaller, or emptier, and maybe lacking more products than the Tyson's location.
Service can be pretty slow as well, there always seems to be someone taking their sweet time at the cash register which can be attributed to slow systems or just issues with coupons, this has happened pretty consistently even at random times in the day.
Their selection of kitchen and in-home storage goods is great and they also have a great selection of small gifts.
Besides the slower than expected service, the staff is always SUPER friendly and very helpful. Very glad that this shop is here.

I am reaching out about my recent experience with The Container Store (TCS) in Tysons Corner, VA, which started in February 2024 and has been very disappointing and frustrating. After spending $18,000 with TCS, we encountered numerous frustrations and multiple delays, extending what was supposed to be a two-month project to six months. We are extremely dissatisfied with their services, particularly creating a custom closet.
Throughout the process, we expressed our complaints and concerns. Jeannean Arthur (store and district manager) assured us that she would take care of us. However, the only compensation offered for their mishandling and errors on an $18k project was a $500 balance credit.
My wife and I work in customer-facing and service positions, and we find it unacceptable for a large corporation to offer minimal compensation while disregarding their lack of professionalism and follow-through. In our respective careers, we uphold high service standards and would never be allowed to mishandle a situation to this extent.
During the six months, we faced numerous issues that were consistently ignored and disregarded by Jeannean, including:
- The promised designer was not present on the installation day
- Multiple delays in receiving parts and installing
- Our project designer quit without notice, and TCS did not inform us or provide an alternative contact
- TCS fired our installer during the project after months of working together
- Broken or damaged parts were delivered
- Management did not return our calls
- We opted to finance bc they have a 2 year 0% interest plan. The delay in completing the project will now affect the payments.
Most importantly, the designer who measured our space made numerous errors that prevented the installer from proceeding with the project. We discovered that TCS no longer sends contractors to measure the space and verify the layout to cut costs. Instead, they use in-house staff who lack the necessary expertise, resulting in significant errors that derail costly projects.
We chose TCS for their promised services, but they failed to deliver. This has been a deeply disappointing experience. We would have been better off working with another company. I strongly advise against doing business with TCS, based on manager Jeannean's response and the overall experience.

This store is awesome, and yes, this is a real place! They've got containers for every situation and today was no exception as Bavi from the front desk was very quick to point out to me exactly the right products for my specifications, and she even tested them right then and there to allieviate my concerns- that's above and beyond! It's a joy and a treat to shop here, I'll have to come by more often.

The location on Rt 7 in Tysons has always been a good store
Really like the staff there.
