If you want to never have your prescription ready when you arrive even when it was called in day(s) before, and then be asked to wait 30min+ for the one they have in stock, only to be told that no, they actually have nothing, this is the place for you! I love to support small businesses but at a certain point it is about standards for polite customer service, basic communication and ideally some kind of reasonable inventory management. On those metrics, this place consistently fails.

Horrible service. Wish I can give them 0 stars

I really wanted to support a local family-owned pharmacy, and Vienna Rexall fit that bill, as CVS and Walgreens turnaround times have become absurdly long with non existent customer service. That said, the experience has been frustrating to say the least. When someone picks up the phone, they can be incredibly helpful - but more than 50% of the time, the phone rings out and then the line goes dead, with no voicemail.CVS and Walgreens have an app to track your RX - Vienna Rexall obviously doesn’t, which wouldn’t be a big deal if they consistently were able to answer the phone. That said, the customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes you get the pharmacist themselves, in which case they are supremely helpful. But sometimes, you get a woman answering the phones who is clearly exasperated with an attitude. I called in today to check if my RX was ready, and she was having trouble hearing me. Rather than saying sorry I can’t hear you, she assumed I was on speaker phone and said coldly “in the future, when you call in don’t be on speaker phone” as if it was a command. I honestly prefer no customer service to rude service.

I do NOT recommend this pharmacy to anyone. They have the WORST customer service. They don't notify you when your prescription is ready. They even prescribed the wrong prescription medication and claimed they called to notify me the corrected prescription was in. I reviewed all my calls and VMs and turns out they weren't being truthful about that. When I asked if I was still able to return the wrong prescription they said no I would have to keep it and spend another $100 plus for the correct prescription. That was incorrectly given to me in the first place. When I questioned why, she stated it had been too long even though it was obviously their fault since I never received a call. Not to mention they never called the 1st time to pick up my initial prescription. I had to call them and they told me I needed to wait for the person to prepare the compound then changed their mind and said nevermind it is ready. Clearly, they are unorganized and lack any customer service. Stay away from this pharmacy.

I went to pick up a prescription 24 hours after it was called in and I was told it wasn’t ready and they didn’t know when it would be ready. I explained I was going out of town the next day and needed it. The attendant was completely uninterested and didn’t bother to do anything to help get this issue taken care of. Complete lack of any customer service.

Family owned and part of identity of Vienna, it’s a lovely place to have your prescriptions filled.

Really tried to be a patron of local business but this pharmacy really needs help. First, the place smells like mold and the carpet looks like it's been through a flood. Second, they rarely answer the phone and often it just rings and rings. The people at the front counter are unfriendly. I can say that some of the pharmacists are very helpful but this is really not up to par for a pharmacy. Would love to see them do a refresh.

Pharmacist insisted on interrogating me on where I live, where I work, why I need a prescription and other personally invasive questions and threatened to refuse service because Dr. is from DC and not VA. Unacceptable and potentially illegal since medication was not a narcotic and is required for a qualifying condition under the American with Disabilities Act. I spoke with my Dr. and was advised the justification they provided (new laws) doesn't apply to my prescription and the concerns cited about DEA revoking their pharmacy license for filling script is blatantly false. When I fill my prescriptions, I prefer to go to a place that will treat me with dignity.

Talk about supporting a local merchant; this store has been in Jaclyn Jones' family for 60 years!!! Clean, friendly staff, and they have Vienna themed merch!!! Hats, visors, lightweight water-resistant jackets, water bottles, stuffed animals, etc. Stop by and give them a try.

This pharmacy is incredible. The pharmacist was familiar with my medication and the formulation prescribed. A lot of meaningful personal attention from pharmacists who are very, very, knowledgable. More like a small town pharmacy than one in the DC Metro area.

Jeff Kirchner, Kerry, and Nick are excellent pharmacists who carefully take the time to understand their patients unique situations and troubles. I appreciate this very much - so many healthcare providers are so quick to just slap labels on patients, and it forever impedes their ability to access proper healthcare. My quality of life has improved dramatically since I began going to this pharmacy. No regrets at all. I will forever be thankful for them and this pharmacy. Why can't we just have more providers like them? - Devon

Really helpful for adding flavors to medicine for picky kids. The compounding pharmacists are super nice. It's nice to still have a couple stores in Fairfax County that give you that small town feel.

The Vienna Virginia Rexall was the only pharmacy that carried surgical saline solution flush syringes in this huge metropolitan area. Not available at CVS, Walgreens, or Wegman’s. My order was promptly filled and pharmacist was very helpful in explaining why such an item was not sold OTC but required a prescription, some thing the hospital discharge didn’t provide. I wish Rexall was ubiquitous as it was in the 1950’s.

I appreciated how responsive the Vienna rexall was when I hadn't realized the medication I was picking up needed to be refrigerated and I wasn't going to be back home for hours. They offered me an ice pack right away which really saved the day. This is my first experience with the store and it was a great one.
