I made a reservation at the Norfolk location and less than 24 hours before my reservation would have began, the Norfolk location called me and said they were out of trucks and they’d have to transfer me to the S Plaza Trail location… which was a much further drive for me. Never would have thought creating a reservation in advance would cause this to happen. The morning of my rental I did not receive a change in reservation until AFTER my reservation was supposed to begin. I finally was able to figure out where to pick up my truck 1 hour after I was supposed to pick it up due to the different locations opening at different times. They told me the price would be the same, which it was, but the change in location made me have to pay for more in gas mileage.I returned the truck back to the S Plaza Trail location with gas very close to the full line. I did fill up on the way back to the location for drop off, but had to drive a an extra few miles after leaving the gas station. I wasn’t told at pick-up there would be a $35 fill up fee if the tank wasn’t 100% full, although it’s in the fine print. Definitely make sure you take the extra time to read the fine print in your contracts and go to a gas station directly next to your drop off location, or else your bill will be almost doubled like me. My bill went from $60 to $140 for filling up the small space that was empty and a $35 fee for refueling it. I’m not sure if it’s the location or what, but I know for a fact I filled up on the way to drop it off and said to the worker helping me on the phone that I was able to provide evidence with a receipt. The workers at this location are very nice, however, nothing would budge with me calling to figure out my bill that increased by almost 100%. Will definitely be using U-Haul in the future after the chaos and confusion this event has caused trying to move locally.

Wish I could leave 0 stars . Got a quote for $191 a week in advance, showed up at my appointment time for my RESERVED truck. Women at the front didn’t have a clue what she was doing. Trying to charge me an extra $100 , wanting My insurance information, asking if I had commercial insurance coverage, like get real I’m moving a Bbr house , she was rude and short. Now I don’t have a truck and have to be out in 24hiurs. Thanks to budget for screwing me over!!! Just go to U-Haul and save yourself the trouble

Can't complain too much. Since I was dropping off a truck for a one-way rental, my transaction was pretty straightforward. I was in and out of the store in about 15 min. Both customer agents were very professional and got the job done. One minor complaint: I wish this location had overnight drop off service. If that cannot happen, customers should have an option to leave the truck in the store's parking area and complete the transaction during business hours. Many apt complex's do not let folks park a 16+ ft moving truck in their parking lots. It was a bit of a pain finding a place to leave the truck overnight before turning it in the next day. This might be more of a Budget thing. When I called customer service to ask for some options about dropping off the truck after hours, I was told there was another location about 30 min away. However there would be additional fees associated with turning in the truck at another location. Unfortunately, the customer service agent couldn't tell me how much those fees would be. Tip: if you request moving blankets be sure to fold them before dropping off the truck.

My daughter was moving and she rented a van for the move. I've always done u-haul so this was new for me. The transaction went pretty smoothly. But the man behind the countered sneezed into the open air. We wanted to run but in all honesty a loose sneeze like that will always find you. Lol.. So we held our breath and stepped back. Omg. Stuff like that really can change a moment... So that was the roughest part of the deal... The rental price was reasonable, but they do hold $150 on your card until the truck is returned, so be prepared for that. The van was clean and pretty spacious... It wasn't to bad on gas. It also beeps when you back up, so that was a nice feature. By the end my daughter thought she was a pro and didn't wanna take it back... Lol. She thought she had graduated to being a truck driver with a CDL license!! Lol. We returned it and dropped off the keys. Everything went well and now I'd probably use Budget in the future. Sorry u-haul you've got some competition... 4 stars and a sneeze!! Lol

The attendant was nice, professional, and curtious. The mechanic shop was in the city, however, was stuck in time and should have been located somewhere in the backwoods of the Appalachian mountains. Truck made the trip but the name is on the side BUDGET! Truck pulled right, passenger airbag light on dash was on so it did not work and the front plastic wind guard on the bumper had no bolts.

Same experience as others. We need to move out tomorrow I Called this morning to confirm truck for tomorrow. We’re told we are all set. We Received a call five hours later to let us know the truck was not available and they had no options for us. I am not sure why they take reservations if they can’t live up to them. Will never rent again with this company. The local location didn’t even return my calls. Just got off the phone with 1 800 and they transferred me around until I was disconnected. Pathetic

After using Uhaul and getting screwed over multiple times, the ease of using Budget has just made me a repeat customer. No hassle and no hidden hoops like driving out of state to get the rental equipment.

I had such an awful experience. Avoid them. I made a reservation for a 16’ truck and auto trailer 2-3 weeks ahead of my reservation date. I was supposed to pick up my truck at 11:30am and received a call at 11am the day of, stating a previous customer hadn’t returned the truck and auto trailer. I told the woman I’d wait til 12 for them to return the items and to please call me at that time for an update. She didn’t call me, and I had to call her at 12:10. She then told me to call the 1-800 number to move my reservation across town to a location that had the equipment. I did, and only received an email an hour later with the new pickup location. I show up there, and the guy stated they only had a truck and not a trailer. He got the district manager on the line who then stated I could travel 100 miles to pick one up in NC. The big kicker is that the district manager stated equipment with my reservation was not inbound or expected at this location or any near. From there, neither myself or the people at the other location could reach the woman at the Plaza location.It seems to me that they didn’t realize they didn’t have the equipment until last minute and then lied about why to push me off onto someone else.This was an absolutely horrible experience. Do not rely on this location.

This is the worst company ever!!! I WILL NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN. My husband rented a truck to move out of state with also a car Carrier. The tire went flat on the car carrier. We paid the extra 150 for roadside assistance. We were stuck on the road from 4:30 pm to 11pm they kept on giving us the run around. I had my kids with me no food nothing to eat or nothing. They kept promising me false times. A guy came and he had the wrong tire then just to tell me he had to turn around and drive 2 hours away to get another tire like seriously this ridiculous. My kids had to use the restroom on the side of the road , the truck was very old it had over 200,000 miles on it. And it was dirty in the inside. IM SO DISGUSTED!!!
