Had an upsetting experience here. Upsetting enough that I’m writing this review days later.
We got a few clothing items for our 1yr old that I wasn’t a fan of and since we had flown in for the holidays, I wanted to go ahead and return the items before we had to pack them up to fly home. We already had super full suitcases with other Christmas gifts so not packing these was going to be helpful. I didn’t have a receipt or gift receipt so I assumed we’d get whatever the lowest price was in a store credit and that was fine.
Unfortunately that is not how this interaction went. The rude lady at the counter asked about receipts, I said no we didn’t have any because they were gifts, and then she says “you’re going to be shopping today” she’s not explaining what this means, there’s no apology for the inconvenience, nothing. She’s just telling me what I’m going to do. So of course I’m confused because what do you mean I’m shopping today? So I’m trying to ask her questions and she’s extremely condescending, she keeps repeating “you’re going to be shopping today” instead of actually explaining the policy or what she’s talking about. I asked her how it worked and she literally said “well you look around the store” as if I was asking her how to shop. No lady, I’m asking you how this works if you’re not giving me a store credit, how do I shop? How do you know how much of a credit there is. Duh. She made a comment about “the policy is on the receipt” to which I responded “I didn’t make the purchase so I don’t have the receipt and therefore wouldn’t know that”
I tried explaining that this was extremely inconvenient as we didn’t live in town and had to fly back with these items but that didn’t matter. This woman’s attitude was horrible and it felt like we were being treated like criminals or something… all for returning some clothes I didn’t love. I picked out a few items, naturally I went over the total credit amount which I’m fairly certain is the goal of this policy which also bothers me. The policy is extremely inconvenient. Not only because we were flying and had suitcase weight limits to consider but also because of timing. We really didn’t have the time to shop that day. I was just running in to make a return.
I would never shop here again. Never at this location and probably never at this company again. The policy really bothered me and being treated like a criminal by a sales rep really made me uncomfortable. Again, all because I retuned some gifts two days after Christmas. I wish I had the reps name because I’d leave it in this review but I don’t.

I love this store! They have the cutest clothes and always have great deals. The staff here is so friendly and helpful. I found an outfit I fell in love with but they didn’t have my babies size, the lady offered to help me order it and it was quick and easy.

Stop hiring people that raise an eyebrow every time they see black people enter the store. The only people they focus on are black people. “Is there something in particular you’re looking for?” They never ask people that look like them the same questions, only black people. Watching so closely. So tired of it. I will put up a review for every company that does this. I’m sick of it.

I went to Carter's for pick up my order. I found two women working the morning shift. They are very rude to me. They didn’t help me receive my order. I gave them my barcode for pick it up but they said she didn’t needed it , I surprised she said my order is not here ,I need to call customer service or check in Lynnhaven mall , I showed her. My confirmation email, but she didn’t put the number to check, Im asking campany Carter's company is saving its reputation, from those Unprofessional..

This store is terrible. I park for curbside pickup. No one comes out. I call to tell them I’m there, l and I need them to bring my clothes out. They bring my clothes in a crumbled up bag with no hangers. I call them back the girl answers “hello”. No “hi thank you for calling carters”. Just “hello”. I ask her to please bring me out the hangers the clothes came on and she says she’s going to have to find hangers. She finally brings me out hangers that are the wrong size. The hangers don’t even fit my clothes. I want to be able to hang up my babies clothes in her closet. INCLUDE THE HANGERS WITH PICKUP ORDERS!! This store is literally TERRIBLE. Incompetent workers who are slack.

Felt big time racism and rushed. Did not like my experience in this store and one of the workers was extremely annoying. She kept saying …”do you need any help”! After I said no like 5 times because when I first came in she had already explained the sales for the store, so now I was looking for an item I may want. It felt like she was just so focused on me shopping instead of doing her job!!! She not once approached anyone else in that store but me …”was it because I was black”! I didn’t even get a chance to look in peace because she kept saying …”are you ready to check out now”! …I was like you know what “yes I am”, and I left and will never be coming back!

We had the nicest, most helpful young associate. She found us exactly what what we wanted in the correct sizes. She offered a few other really cute onesies as well.

Skyler the manager was amazing and very professional. She helped me find all my items and helped me order things that weren’t in stock and I received them in just a couple of days. Highly recommend. I will always be asking for Ms. Skyler!

I like this store's location, available parking and sales. The store is clean and maintained. It's the company that has a problem. I don't mind paying higher prices for quality items but Carter's quality has been slipping downward for awhile and just keeps going down.
