This hotel & SUN AND SANDS ARE THE SAME HOTELS!! DO NOT STAY!!! They have BED BUGS in room 901 !!! !! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. Keep your family safe & away from this place !!! This hotel is a disgrace!! They refuse to refund you & act oblivious to any allegation you bring to their attention. The General Manager BUNNY is a joke. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

When I first went there it wasn't as run down and disgusting as it is now. It was heavily overpriced. The beds were bouncy and hard but at least a lot was clean with a good view. It was good enough for me and my boyfriend at the time but now. I would never take my family here. It's incredible what negligence can fester.

This place is awful. The pictures aren't truthful and the description isn't accurate either. Not worth $5/night. The only positive thing is the location, but it's absolutely NOT WORTH staying there. I would say this place deserves to be shut down.

Be warned..this property is also called the "Sun and Sand" in some advertising. Photos are totally deceptive.Disgusting... smells, plumbing problems, dirty, broken beds.... did I say dirty? Elevator, hallways, grounds ... dirty and in poor repair. Door so warped the deadbolt did not work.Shower only gave really hot or really really hot water.. dangerous for children. I just don't know how this property passes any kind of health inspection.

This place is straight up nasty. I wish we would have read the reviews before we booked. Sheets weren't changed on the bed. They were doing some "remodeling" and the place was a mess. Our room was dirty. I was afraid to even sleep in the bed.Just plain creepy.

I’m not even sure where to begin. The place was disgusting. Our room was straight out of a horror film. There was a hole in the wall where it looked like someone’s head went through it. The a/c filters were FILTHY!! We wouldn’t even turn it on for fear of breathing in death. There was a quarter size soap fragment left on the one unbroken soap holder in the shower. The hair dryer was ripped off the wall (the only reason I know there should have been a blow dryer was because I saw it one of the hotels fancy room photos) There was some sort of liquid stain sprayed across the ceiling. We wouldn’t even walk through the room without our shoes on because the floor was sticky and thank goodness I brought a sheet, because that had to cover the couch. The light fixtures were rust, and if the light had a cover, it was damaged. There was someone else’s used plastic fork left on the floor under the table and the coffee supply package was opened and missing the stir straw. It was so unbelievable that we just had to make a joke of the whole situation. The place was in bad shape and it’s so unfortunate because the location is awesome.

Never again. Room is disgusting. Holes in wall, patches all over place, not enough parking for the amount of rooms. Any overflow parking its on you to pay and find a place. I took a video of whole room when they wouldn't give me my money back to may sure they didn't try to bill us for any damages or for all the red splatters on the walls NEVER AGAIN.... wrost one I have ever stayed in...

Lady behind desk told me my military ID was fake, then told me it was expired. Avoid at all costs! Rooms were disgusting! Elevator was broken, mold every where! Tons of broken furniture in parking garage disgusting! Can I give a negative rating?

The rest if the 1 star reviews are 100% true. This dump is to be avoided like the plague there is a smell all over the place , the furniture is old and ripped plus it too smells. The pool looks the have been closed for months though the website showed it as open. Don’t make my mistake and choose the dump because of its location and cheap rooms they cheap for a reason. Don’t use the place

Horrible service, Horrible quality sheets and towels.""I got home finally realized I have bed bugs bites all over my body. It seems never clean. The room has the worst odor. The costumer service downstairs.... omg i never seen in my life this kind of person.

Dolphin inn is an excellent location to enjoy Virginia Beach . All restaurants are just one step from this location . Very very convenient for everything.It’s a nice very clean hotel under new management. Very easy to check in and check out process too . My room has magnificent ocean view with nice balcony . Parking is free for guest on this property . And in my room there is a tv , microwave and coffee maker .Very convenient for everything.

So despite the other bad reviews I had a good stay here there were some hiccups getting my room check in when I got there. There is a smell in the hallways and the elevator needs worked on. The place is alittle outdated and needs renovated but my room was good and wasent dirty or trashed but there was rust on the lamps and some holes in the lamp shades. So rooms need some tlc but this motel wasent as bad as I was expecting. All in all was a decent experience

Rooms are run down holes in the door from people kicking them, very poor lighting, construction debris all over the hallway from renovations, bathtub faucet ran constantly, smells like cigarette smoke and musty from water damage. The only good thing about the room was being with my girl and having a beautiful Atlantic Ocean view.

Room was a bit shabby, some lights have no shades, the rack to hold an iron was hanging off the wall. Furniture sparse in living room, no table to eat. Front desk staff helpful but no one at desk at a 7 am checkout. Fortunately paid in advance. Should have a sign to hold entry door from slamming late at night. Room not sound proof enough to mute out concerts.held next to hotel
