Poor communication led to time wasted. I wasn’t available to receive a package due to my work schedule. The website’s tracking info said that the package would be available to pickup at this location at 2pm. I arrived at this location around 3:40pm, but was told by the fedex employee that the driver wasn’t back yet, and to come back at 5. I live about 15-20min away, so I decided to stay in the area. When I came back at 5pm, I was told that the driver had went back to my residence to attempt a redeliver. No one had told me that that was going to happen. Now I’m sitting here waiting again, because they said the driver will be back in 30 minutes. Poor communication, poor management, and my time wasted.

No matter what time of day I visit this Fedex to drop iff packages, the staff are always friendly and professional and helpful. I'm notoriously getting there minutes before the store closes and I still get the same great customer service.

The rates went up. Paid $219.00 for shipping a letter to Casablanca, Morocco from Virginia Beach. Shipped on Friday to be received on Tuesday.

When a customer has to endure rude and condescending behavior from 2 employees at the counter in order to process a prepaid drop-off correctly and then stand her ground politely to teach them something new about their own FedEx system to complete her transaction, the least should be the employees acknowledging their misunderstanding, lack of training, and be courteous in the exchange. The absolute wrong thing to do is tell the customer to take the package to the Norfolk hub to do what their system cannot because they have allegedly worked there for so many years. At the customer's insistance, a telephone to Norfolk and less than 3 screen taps later, lo and behold, the Virginia Beach location has the same service capability, just not the same trained employees with customer service skills and courtesy. Then to be handed a receipt without so much as acknowledging their shortcomings and rudeness and not even a "thank you for being patient with us while we learned something new." Perhaps these Fedex employees are so secure in their jobs, and can get away with this type of behavior and service, but, you know what, I can also stop using FedEx and stick to USPS and UPS. Coming from a business owner that constantly receives telephone calls from FedEx to open a business account and this exchange is one of many reasons why I will not. If you're an employee used to doing the bare minimum and I'm asking you to add 1 extra step and your response is no, drive 40 minutes away in high traffic to the other hub, there is a bigger problem here overall.
