Updated for clarity. Ugh. This used to be the SPCA thrift store (before COVID) and I had bought a fair number of things there, from clothes, to shoes to a sofa bed. I was here about 6 months ago. I understand it had been open again for a while-under new ownership. I wasn't exactly sure when it had reopened, but figured, give them some time to get things sorted out. I tried it again today, to see if things had improved. It didn't help. It was messy and I thought it had a smell. I don't think I'll be back. I hope this clarifies things for the owner? Manager? that responded.

Second Chance Thrift is now JCOC Thrift. The current owner bought Second Chance Thrift a couple of years ago and has now consolidated her former 2nd store, that was on South Plaza Trail in VB, into this location and renamed it JCOC Thrift within the last couple of weeks. So I popped into here Sunday (Dec 18th) afternoon on a semi-regular visit and was happy to find an old Sony DSC-S75 digital camera. The entire thing was complete in the box for $15.00. While the box has seen better days the camera appears to have been sparsely used. It looks and runs as if it was brand new. AV Cable, USB Cable, Sony Memory Card, Instructions, CD and Sony carry case all included. The battery needs to be replaced as it doesn't hold a charge like it used to but that's a small price to pay for basically a new camera. One more digicam for my gear acquisition syndrome. As always the staff was super friendly and accommodating and I look forward to my next visit in the new year.

Great thrift store! Only one locally with a large selection of vintage items. Great prices too. Lots of clothes and housewares, store is way bigger than it looks like from the outside. Definitely one of my favorites!

Nice merchandise — but they spend too much time playing online antique dealer. If I wanted to buy their items online, I wouldn’t bother going to the store. When a customer asks the price of an item, the answer should not require an employee to search eBay listings.

If you're looking for a good local-owned thrift store you found it here!Friendly staff, a lot to look at, and reasonable prices.Came in to just look around and actually spotted a good looking coffee maker and two mugs. Decided to make the purchase, but requested a test of the coffee maker to make sure I wasn't going to just blow $17. The cashier was more than helpful and the owner of the store even stayed and talked to my girlfriend and I while we waited for the coffee maker to heat the water to prove that it worked! This staff will be delighted to help anyone and I wish them the best in their efforts to provide a good shopping experience to all!

I love it here. I live across the street so whenever I wanna go thrifting I can just walk!! I wanted to volunteer here when I was a Junior, but unfortunately classes and work piled up :( Their pet pig is soooo cute! The dolls to the left of the front door are kinda scary, but the amount of vintage items they have is insane. While it's a bit overpriced, you have to realize this is a volunteer based non-chain thrift store. It's kinda hard to squeeze through the aisles and find what you want, so I like going when there's not a lot of people. Great work guys!!!

I love, love, love this thrift! I went for the first time today and my only regret is not coming sooner!!! I love how everything is not overly organized and there is a good amount of clutter. For those of you who love to hunt for treasure this is the place for you. But no worries it is organized, just not perfectly and color coded and all that extra nonsense that some other thrifts do.This store has so many unique and interesting finds, and love their huge collection of vintage items. The shop owner was very nice and loved how I didn’t feel like she was eyeing my every move and even despite me carrying around a few pieces of jewelry. She was very respectful and friendly: offering help in a very nice polite way which I appreciated. She was also kind enough to carry in my donation I brought with which I was struggling having a hot flash. She seems like a really nice woman.I was a little surprised by some of the negative comments. I did ‘not’ see any excessive mark ups. All the ones I viewed were reasonable (new with tags or vintage etc)For those that say thrift stores need to act like thrift stores do not truly understand how thrift store works. It is still a business and based off supply and demand, and profit. Thrift stores can be competitive.Thrift stores are not important because they give cheap prices, but rather because when you shop there and not at a mall you are recycling which is saving the planet. It is normal for thrifts to mark up items of value.** Thrifts are so great because you are recycling.**.remember that!

Some cool stuff mostly cluttered junk at boutique prices. More like consignment shop prices. The staff also comes off as snobby. Maybe you guys would have more customers (parking lot dead) if you weren't so greedy with the pricing. Lower your prices to thrift store prices and your might sell all that junk or maybe not call it a thrift store. No bargains here

Sadly, wasn't a fan. I thrift a lot and have tried nearly all the thrift stores in VB. This was probably my least favorite. This review is solely based on the products, the staff themselves were courteous and professional. But the store overall was just disappointing. It was VERY dirty in there, I felt like I needed to wash my hands after touching anything. And it was very overpriced for thrifting purposes. A plain men's t-shirt, non-branded, would cost around $5-6 whereas other stores would sell for $2-3. I understand they may need to price up to make a profit since they're a non-chain thrift store but, unfortunately, they can't compete if I can find the same items for less (seeing as that's why people thrift to start). I also felt like it was highly disorganized. They had general section organization but it still felt like everything was just jammed in every crevice of the building, collecting dust and grime. It's sad because the staff were assuredly polite and I wanted to support a non-chain store, but I just can't get myself to go back. Fortunately I was wearing my mask because I feel like breathing in all the dirt and dust wouldn't have been pleasant. Sorry for the bad review! I hope it gets better!

This place is amazing! They have everything under the sun and then some! I can always find quality name brand clothing and it is so well organized. Always my first stop when looking for something because they probably have it. The front of the store has really neat collectables and oddities and the back is regular stuff. Definitely worth the stop!

They have a cute pup. She’s definitely the reason I didn’t leave just a one star review. They had a good selection of records and clothes. However, it is incredibly messy, crowded with items and confusing to know what items are for sale and what’s not. Not to mention a lot of stuff they’re selling is actually just trash. I found 3 red solo cups they were trying to sell…NOT ADA accessible. I felt more like I was at someone’s hoarder house than a thrift store. I freaking love thrift stores and never have left a negative review for one but this one was bad.
