My family loved this place. It's small but beautiful, and the ocean view was incredible.

We stayed in room 328, which is an ocean view room w/ kitchenette. We really loved the balcony. There was surfing event and we had the perfect view of some amazing surfers from the balcony! Everything was perfect. The room was immaculate and it smelled so nice. The temp in the room was a perfect 70 degrees. The AC worked great. The beds were VERY comfy. There was a small kitchen table in the room with seating for 4, which was very useful. There was also a large side chair with an ottoman that was super comfy. The bathroom was small but the shower water pressure was amazing! We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back!

This was an affordable beach front option while traveling. While it is true that the property is somewhat outdated, I appreciate that affordability is prioritized over modernization. Modern and chic is available right down the road for double the price, if that is what you desire. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The facility and rooms were very clean. Location is absolutely perfect if you don't want or need to be in the center of town. I loved being at the quiet end of the strip and anything we wanted or needed was still within walking distance. Highly recommend!

The hotel staff were very friendly. The hotel room was very clean and perfect for my wife and I. It had an amazing view of the ocean and beautiful heart shaped hot tub. My only complaint is the parking. The spaces are way too close and limited. They need a parking garage with wider spaces.

Obviously this is an older hotel. Truthfully I'm pretty picky, and I have to say, this place was cleaner than most bigger, newer hotels. The pool and elevators were small, but CLEAN.

Not perfect. Stayed for 3 days with my small family. I cleaned. The air doesn't go low enough like many others have said. It was loud a night with other guests.
Tub didn't work til I I finally pulled the bottom panel off and plugged it in every time I wanted to use it but that was just the last day. Took that long 4 me to plug it. The panel was off when i arrived. I told the office. Knew nothing was going to happen with it with others reviews. I didn't expect it to. Was also some black mold over near the window curtains in the corner where you pull them back all way open. I told the maid. Already know they don't really have concern. I didn't either was on only 3 days for me. I be ok.
Also let the office know about the black mold while checking out. Also told the office I told the maid when I left. THEY'RE INFORMED. JUST HAVE TO ACTUALLY DO SOME THING WITH THE INFO. LIKE CLEAN. FLOOR DID MAKE MY FEET BLACK. THE REASON I CLEANED IT THE 1ST FULL DAY WAS HERE. I NEEDED A TIP. OMG.
BUT ALL IN ALL I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN. GOT SOME GOOD FEATURES HERE. ON BEACH. NICE POOL. OTHER GUESTS DONT REALLY SAY TO MUCH EITHER. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE GETTING WHEN THEY COME AS WRLL. I THINK.

The Schooner Inn has all the charm! The rooms are clean. Floor to ceiling windows of the sunrise view over the ocean? Incredible. It’s definitely a family friendly place and there is some noise associated with that as you would expect. There’s a park on the beach within steps of the hotel. Food options are plentiful and walkable. My favorite part of the hotel was actually the friendliness of the staff! They were kind, personable, and quick. I cannot say enough good things about them! I was traveling solo and they helped me feel safe during my stay.
Remember: it’s an older hotel so it has some quirks. The parking lot is a little small and the elevators are as well.

Got a great price on a weekday. The location is awesome. That is what you are paying for. It’s right on the beach and a very nice section of the beach, and walkable to many restaurants. We arrived early and were given a parking pass and access to a bathroom so we could hit the beach while waiting on our room. The room was basic but seemed basically clean and comfortable with no bad smells. The inn seems old and retro but it works. As others have mentioned you can only park ONE car per room and parking is tight.

I looked at several hotels before choosing this one because I wasn't convinced, as I was looking for one with a full kitchen. Well, I ended up choosing this one because it was the only one with good reviews about cleanliness, and yes, it was very good, but could be better. Other than that, everything else was great. The ocean view was perfect, more than I expected.

Friendly staff and clean but the room were so hot, it wasn’t enjoyable. Stayed 78-80 in our room even at night.

The schooner Inn is an older hotel at the South end of the boardwalk. Adjacent to the jetty. the rooms are nice and well maintained. Being older a few things don't work. But the staff immediately dresses any issues. Like a coffee maker that does not work they gave us a brand new one when we got back. Staff are wonderfully pleasant. Parking is easy. The walk to the beach is closed. Just beware the beach crowds up by midnight day. All in all it was a wonderful stay for our anniversary

We book schooners inn every year for our family vacation and it is a great hotel. It’s not as fancy and has many amenities like other hotels, but it has spacious and clean rooms and the staff are always very kind.
Schooner Inn is located at the very end of the boardwalk, so if you want to explore around I suggest getting a trolley pass or be prepared to walk long distances. If you want a hotel that’s clean and orderly, and you’re just looking for a place to relax, this is the hotel.

There is a major problem with parking!! My best friend and I decided to book a room many months ago at the beach. This place has great reviews. My friend and I met halfway. We were NEVER told that we could not both park at the hotel! One of us has to go to a municipal lot for $20 per night!! This is ridiculous! The booking never disclosed this information. You need to tell your guests upfront about your parking policy. The front desk could not pull it up on her screen!

I really, really enjoyed staying here!! Clean, bright rooms. Excellent views, nice balcony. Easy access to the beach, and to anything else you need in VA Beach. Right on the boardwalk. Plenty of amenities (including a big grill set up for guest use). Staff was very nice and were very helpful. I look forward to staying here again next time I'm in VA Beach.
