Skipper Farms is a stand at the Virginia Beach Farmer's Market located in the shaded outdoor pavilion. It sells seasonal local and regional produce, fresh eggs, flowers, starter plants, and canned goods like honey, apple butter, jams, and pickles. They will soon offer their own coffee beans and have fresh-pressed cider in the fall. The produce offers a wide selection and is generally amazing quality and fresh, though occasionally an item may not be at its peak. They report no use of pesticides. The stand is neat, clean, tidy, and nicely organized with well-spaced displays. Staff are friendly, helpful, nice, and attentive, with amazing customer service. They are open daily from 10am to 6pm from mid-March until late December. They accept both cash and credit cards, though cash is required for purchases under ten dollars. They have plastic hand baskets to use and offer plastic bags, but bringing reusable bags is suggested. Skipper Farms also offers an annual CSA membership for weekly baskets of fresh produce.
I've been here 3 times now, and I think it's gonna be my new spot for fresh produce and eggs! the quality of the fruits and vegetables are amazing and the guy running it is very nice and helpful.
