I usually drive over 30 mins away just to buy their produce & Seeded watermelons. If you know how HUGE their watermelons are, you can only image how heavy they are. When purchasing 2 today, I informed the cashier that we would be purchasing 2. Being the only customers there, my mom parked at the entrance to retrieve the melons as I passed them to her. The cashier made reference to me passing my mom the melons & then hopping over the gate & leaving, keep in mind I have on a long skirt & we've patronized this business over 5x. I don't want to assume she made that "joke" Because we're black but I'm sure she would not have said it to anyone those. Why would I drive over 30mins say to STEAL 2 $11 watermelons when I've spent $100s there. It was definitely UNPROFESSIONAL & UNCALLED for. I DOUBT I'll EVER be take that drive back out there or patronize the business again. Extremely DISAPPOINTED in the lack of professionalism and inappropriate language.

We purchased seeded watermelon for $6.99!!! IYKYK They were huge. We had to purchase 2 because we didn't have cash. You must pay cash for purchases less than $10. We'll be back! The cashier offered to bring it to our car but we were parked way to far away so I couldn't let him do that.

Skipper Farms has a stand at the hybrid indoor-outdoor Virginia Beach Farmer's market and is located at one end of the pavilion-covered outdoor area, which offers a good amount of shade. It sells seasonal local and regional produce, flowers and starter herb/vegetable plants, and canned goods. -- The Produce, Flowers, & Goods -- They carry local and regional fruits and vegetables to offer a pretty wide selection, even having peaches in May, and everything always looks fresh, although occasionally items seem to not always be at the peak of freshness; for example, most of the strawberries we purchased look very good and tasted amazing but a few were probably best a couple of days ago. They report no use of pesticides/herbicides. The seedling starter plants and flowers look very good. In the fall they have fresh-pressed cider, and they're in the process of offering their own coffee beans soon. Other items include honey, apple butter, and jams as well as pickles and fresh eggs. -- Experience -- The produce is on display and well-spaced throughout their stand. Staff are friendly and helpful, and they are prompt and attentive when I've gone up to make purchases. -- Seasonal Operating Hours -- Skipper Farms is open daily from 10am to 6pm from mid-March until almost Christmas in late December. -- Cash & Credit -- They accept both cash and credit cards. -- Things to Note -- They have plastic hand baskets you can borrow while shopping at their stand. Bring reusable bags so you don't have to use their plastic ones. -- CSA Membership -- Skipper Farms offers an annual Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) membership -- check out their Facebook or this location for more information. This is where the consumer pays upfront to support farmers and receives a weekly basket of fresh produce.

Been shopping at the Farmer's Market fir years. This stand might have okay produce but the punk on his phone not even looking up to ring me out is the reason I will never spend $ there again. Twice he has been very rude to me and others.

First time here as I'm an out of towner. I will always support farmers markets wherever I go. The selection was great with it being winter. I went to this stand only needing eggs. I ended up grabbing a bag of peanuts and a bag of pecans! I'm from Ohio and finding fresh pecans is hard!Got to my car and was able to crack one open. And then I found a few more I could shell by hand.Needless to say I went back and got another bag.
