Being new to Virginia Beach we searched and did several trial classes before committing to a gym. Our 6 year old comes from a ballet/dance background but decided she wants to do competition cheer. At first we were hesitant because she has a sensory processing disorder and sometimes adults don't exercise patience with her or understand why she struggles with things that come easily to others but I'm glad we made the decision to join this team of athletes. Our daughter loves it so much! Her tumbling 1 coaches are amazing! When she started she could not do a cartwheel (her balance is not too well and she lacked the confidence to trust herself) after a few classes she can and is confident in her balance now. She loves having the older cheerleaders that assist the classes as well. From the sweet receptionist that greets everyone with an amazing smile to the coaches I have met, this is an amazing place so far! We are looking forward to watching her learn and advance here. She can't wait to go to "Nationals" one day with Coastal lol.

If I could give this gym a 10 star I would…. all of the staff are very friendly and they truly care about all of the families/children. Everyone is very patient and seeing the progress the teams have made is great. Highly recommendable!!!

Once wild got bought out we decided to do another season, the first seven months she broke her ankle no support from coaches no appolgies nothing we made the decision to leave but the old coaches are amazing Lindsey, Jacobo, Emmy. Also this program got threw my child’s meantal block but do not recommend this program.

My two daughters and I have been part of the Coastal Athletics family for the past year. The gym has gone through a period of growth and restructuring, and for the past couple months has been in the hands of highly knowledgeable, professional, committed, and organized owners. Their dedication to the athletes and determination to make the gym thrive is truly admirable. They have brought a sense of unity and cohesiveness that we've been searching for in an All Star Cheer gym. As a parent. I appreciate the focus the coaches place on sportsmanship and the athletes as developing people, and not simply on athletics. I'm proud of the way Coastal athletes represent the gym, both on and off the mat. I encourage anyone looking for a high-quality, family-oriented gym to check out Coastal Athletics!

My daughter has been at the gym for the past 4 years. Coastal was recently purchased in Feb 2022 and I can not be more amazed at how wonderful the last month has been. The new owners has brought an amazing family atmosphere and a wonderful structure while making the cheer environment light and fun. I would recommend this gym to all families and friends. If you love a family environment with a small gym atmosphere this gym is for you, I can’t wait to meet you!

My daughter has been a member of this cheer gym for 2 seasons. Season one was rough but due to exceptional coaches it was tolerable. This current season EVERY coach from last season has since left and the gym has failed to find suitable replacements. My daughters level 4 team is currently coached by a gymnastics coach who has no cheer coaching experience. She is unable to coach them to greatness. The gym owners are highly unprofessional. Tammy Glover was also an owner of Fame South several years ago which failed quickly. I see this gym failing soon too. She is extremely reactive and doesn't make professional decisions when it comes to the gym as a whole. My child has been cheering for 10 years and this season has been the absolute worst out of all seasons she has ever cheered. The pettiness, retaliation, unprofessionalism, poor coaching, rude staff, inconsistency, and constant confusion with what is actually going on is insane. When you attempt to schedule a meeting with the gym owner, your meeting is constantly rescheduled because she is always "not feeling well" enough to conduct a meeting. It's actually her not being professional enough to conduct a civil conversation. Last year she yelled at a parent in the lobby in front of other parents and disclosed that parent was on scholarship and should be thankful to the gym. I was floored as it's no one else's business about that parents financial situation and it was extremely unprofessional for her to yell at a customer in front of other customers. Most recently she retaliated against my child for an adult situation involving me and the gym owner which I wouldn't give into. She then chose to disrupt practice and replace my child in every position in the routine, only my child. It was extremely obvious what she was doing. My child then got emotionally upset and walked outside the gym crying. Not one staff member, coach or owner followed behind my child to see where she was going. It was around 8pm at night, it's dark, cold and in secluded area and my child was left outside alone. When I arrived a few minutes later I immediately went inside to inquire what had happen and John Glover admitted he saw my kid crying and grab her phone and walk out. Yet NO ONE WALKED OUT AFTER HER. That's a major safety concern, anything could have happen to her and it also shows their lack of compassion for their athletes. I would strongly recommend you seek another cheer gym in the area and steer clear of Coastal Athletic Training, LLC.

My daughter has absolutely loved coming to Coastal! The joy in her face during practice and after is amazing! She has def stepped up in becoming more of a leader and has gained so much confidence in everything she does. The coaches are great and have real interest in every athletes individual talents and weaknesses and give them the confidence to overcome those if warranted. The gym is convenient and the class times are great! It was very hard to find a gym that was able to accommodate a full-time working parent and other activities. But this gym made it happen, even if the leadership staff was adding or removing a class they made sure to take a poll from the parents of what times worked best. Watching all of these athletes from barely being able to do cartwheels to performing a competition routine in just a few months is fantastic! Thank you to all of the leadership team and the coaches for all of your hard work!

We joined Coastal last year shortly after The Glover’s purchased and changed the name. It was the first year our 5 year would be doing competitive cheer. She loved it so we decided to keep her there another and see where it goes… yes the coaches have changed but for my daughter it has been for the better. The new coach Ryann focuses on the minis, is so patient, always is positive and communicates with me. She has sent out at home stretches and helpful tips to do for tumbling at home. My daughter loves to do them and has progressed so much.We love the Coastal family and can not wait for this season and the next after that.

I started coaching here about two months ago maybe three and it’s the best decision I could’ve ever made for my self . I teach tumble class 1-5 and some other teams ! Coastal athletics is where I wish I could’ve gone while I was cheerleading ! The coaches I work alongside are again coaches I wish I could’ve had . Along with that Tammy and Jon have made the place feel like a family oriented gym and want to make sure everyone’s needs and wants are met or heard . Brittany is a joy to also work with she is honest and brings everyone together! Coach Kelsey and coach Taylor have made feel beyond welcomed and have been a huge help with all the questions I had . This gym has made a huge impact not only In my life but in my heart ! Seeing the children I coach understand comprehend than achieve the goals they and I have set for them is such a great experience! This gym is a family and I am so beyond grateful to work here ! Good work to all the people I coach along and thank you to all the parents whose children attend they are wonderful and I’m beyond blessed to be a part of their cheer experience and journey ! ❤️

I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO MY WORST ENEMY! If I could leave zero stars I would. I am very understanding to the fact that Tammy and John Glover are new gym owners and not everything would be perfect but their non professionalism and inconsistency is crazy, simply put. When covid was at its peak, because the gym owners don’t believe covid is real they didn’t follow protocols given by the state. Staff was given the option to wear mask or not. Showing she didn’t have the athletes health in their best interest. The coaching turnover rate is high. She would hire a coach who would be at your kids practice, without introduction, then 3 practices later a whole new coach is training your kid. Last year a staff member was caught talking negatively about me and my child. When I brought it to the gym owners attention she did nothing about it. Most recently a parent tried to attack another parent and the gym ignored the situation.Pricing is outrageous. You’re gonna pay all star prices for rec style cheer. For ONLY 5 competitions the competition fee is $1,320.00! That’s OUTRAGEOUS! I also wouldn’t recommend overpaying. Because we left per the gym contract they get to keep over $700 I over payed. That’s theft in my opinion. In regards to Tammy, the owner I personally feel as if she has mental health issues which need to be addressed. She is constantly making statements, then back tracking saying she didn’t make the statement. She’s extremely emotionally reactive to every situation that doesn’t go how she wants it to.I’m a team meeting we were advised to email me her with our concerns and she would immediately email us back. When I stated during the meeting I had emailed her a concern 3 days ago she gets hostile with me in front of parents demanding she had replied to me. When I advised her she wasn’t telling the truth she thru a childish fit, so much to the fact her husband had to intervene in the conversation to control her behavior.Tammy will more than likely get her friends and family to all of a sudden leave reviews to hide this one but I hope this is seen and is a strong warning to new parents to stay away from the crazy !!

Coastal Athletic Training Facility is not somewhere your child progresses and learns. My child was made to condition for 2 hours at the age of 7 years old to the point she almost threw up and was in so much pain the next day. The coaching staff is inconsistent and the owners fire coaches left and right and bring in unqualified coaching staff. Mr. & Mrs. Glover are two of the most disrespectful, lying & money hungry gym owners I have ever encountered. My daughter lost her love of all star cheer being in the gym that used to be home before Tammy Glover bought the gym. The gym is the most dysfunctional gym we as a family had ever been a part of and I truly fear for the safety and well being of all the children in that gym. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE YOUR CHILDREN GO TO THIS GYM IT IS DISGUSTING HOW THEY TREAT THESE KIDS.
