What makes this minuscule post office in Walkerton a 4 star is the postmaster, Linwood! He knows everyone in the neighborhood and he chats with all his neighbors... yes neighbors not just customers! He told me that the owner of Scott's Store next door has his roots in the post office! His dad was postmaster for years! Linwood thinks this small square brick cube of a building has been around since the early 70's, but maybe even before. When I walked next door (in Walkerton, no less) the lady at the counter was not only friendly, but she confirmed the story! The little community is right off the Mattaponi River in King and Queen County with gorgeous scenic views of the 3 bridges, wood, steel, and concrete all bundled next to each other. The township of about 400 folks (as of 2022) make this quaint, country historic town something to see! Hours 9:15-4:15 closed for lunch 12:15-1:15 M-F9:30-11:45 Saturday
